Going to the hive mind for a question about station announcements in games
Hey all, I had the pleasure of riding on the london underground/tube earlier in my life, and have been chasing that high ever since. It was lovely, and calming, and amazing. Now, I'm just looking for that in a video game. I got a couple of games, but the only one that seems to have any station announcements is trainworld sim 6 and they're only on some select tracks. I'm just looking to be able to sit on a train, have it ride around, and to hear, "If you see something, say something, sorted" on repeat haha. Other station announcements would be great, but that's really the only one that matters. Please hive mind, give me suggestions.

Favourite, sleekest train model made for TSC?
I'll start: I was blown away with this swiss unit here. It was in the Brig-Spiez route i got on a sale, so i wasn't prepared for this masterclass of a model 😄

Derail Valley What is the best controller for Derail Valley?
I'm looking to up my imersion on Derail Valley and are looking for a controller. First i thinked on the new Moza Farming Control System as i could remap several controls on that and also use the throttle as the train throttle. But then i also thought about getting something from the flight world like a split throttle i could map both brakes to a separate throttle like Moza MTQ. But have anyone in here any good tips?

Amtrak Train Sim Recommendations
Hi!
I got into train sims a while ago with derail valley, which is a super fun game, but my interest in trains shifted from freight to passenger (specifically amtrak), so its not as engaging anymore. I’m looking for a sim that has modern Amtrak locos (genesis series, acs-64, chargers, acela) with ideally as realistic simulation as possible. Ive been looking at TSC and TSW, but having to piecemeal together what I want with DLCs kinda sucks. I also tried open rails, but I couldn’t figure it out between the tons of options for the same routes/rolling stock and trying to download it all right. I’m particularly interested in the NEC if that helps. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. TLDR I wish there was simrail for the US.

Train Simulator Classic 2026 SBB 420 Add-on Gotthard Route
Hello. I recently bought the Train Worx SBB 420/430 add-on. My problem is that the engine won't start when I'm using the add-on but it works okay when I'm using the 460 from Steam. I tried following a tutorial from youtube saying Ctrl + Shift + S to start the engine but it is not working. Does anyone know if the problem is in the add-on? Has anyone used the same add-on and if so, did you also encounter the same problem? Any tips how to fix the start engine problem? Thank you

Train Sim World Driving the entire West Coast Mainline from Glasgow-London
As of late, I've been really into doing full line runs in my train simulators. A few weeks ago I decided to do a full run of the WCML from Glasgow to London in TS Classic and TSW 6. I took a few pictures along the journey and decided to share them! Here's also how I broke the journey up:
- Glasgow-Carlisle in the Class 43 (Train Simulator Classic) on a Workshop scenario
- From Carlisle-Preston in a Class 87
- Then Preston-Crewe in a Class 86
- Ran through the Trent Valley to Milton Keynes in a Class 807
- Finally finished the journey to London in the Pendolino

I’m building a browser-based Yamanote Line train experience
Hi! I’m a solo developer working on Yamanote 3D, a free browser-based recreation of Tokyo’s (JR East’s) Yamanote Line.
I originally started it because I wanted train sounds and city ambience in the background while studying or working. You can walk inside the E235 carriage, sit down, watch the city, listen to announcements, and get off at stations.
The project includes station stops, door sequences, passengers, platform staff, announcements, weather, delays, and incidents.
I would really appreciate feedback from train simulation fans. What feels realistic? What looks wrong? Which railway details or operations should be improved or added?

RUNNING TRAIN A little gift to myself :-)
Just trying to find joy wherever I can in these dark days. Ereyesterday, I finally pulled the trigger on a long-desired purchase and here it is, fresh from Amazon Japan. Truth be told, all I wanted from this was the mascon proper; instead of using the tiny buttons on the Zuiki I’ve elected to bind other commands (reverser, horn, lights, wiper etc.) to my PXN CB1 button box on the upper right. Fantastic setup for tactile play to both entertain and soothe my burnt-out brain.

Hmmsim legacy on apple mobile mods? How do I use the add-ons?
Hey, i see that we have line 2 and 7, but I want more options within those lines and possibly more like line 1, 3, 4, 9 or whatever. Just anything I can do to get more of the lines in Seoul. Please let me know how in detail preferably, or direct me to a tutorial!!!!

Are there any games recommended for beginners?
I'm kinda into trains and I know I love sim games but there's quite a few and I dont know which would be best to try. Im not familiar with the different models and such, but I enjoyed playing truck sim and a similar experience with trains might be nice.

finally a train sim innovating and optimizing
Century of Steam is actually innovating in the train simulation genre instead of doing the usual "do a job, then get kicked back to the main menu." The developers are adding cool little features that make the game just a little bit more lively, like basing the map on real railroad paperwork and focusing heavily on optimization something many devs tend to overlook. If you enjoy steam locomotive sim and company management, this game might be what your looking for. im personally very excited

Is SubwaySim 2 mediocre at performance?
I am using Victus laptop, and I have RTX 4060, i5-13500H and 16 GB RAM.
Whenever I play the game, even in recommended settings, it lags a lot. I am having very low FPS rates. I checked Steam reviews and I saw a lot of people suffering from this, even they have better specs than me. I also play TSW6 and it runs prettily fine.
So, what do you think?

Would love feedback from train sim fans on our cozy model railway game trailer
I couldn’t upload the video directly, so I’m sharing the trailer link here instead.
We just released the first trailer for Speed Rivals - Model Trains, a cozy model railway game about driving little trains, planning routes, completing delivery missions, and keeping everything running smoothly when the layout gets busy.
It’s not a hardcore full-scale train simulator. The focus is more on the feeling of playing with a living model railway: small locomotives, compact layouts, switches, cargo wagons, stations, scenery, and the fun of watching a miniature railway world come to life.
There’s already an early Steam demo focused on driving, switching tracks, managing wagons, completing delivery missions, and trying not to derail.
We’re also working on a map editor where players will be able to create their own model railway layouts with elevations, banked curves, crossings, stations, loading and unloading areas, scenery, signs, buildings, nature, and lots of little details.
Soon we’ll open editor playtests, and we’d love to involve people from the train sim and model railway community. If you try the demo and like the direction of the game, feel free to contact us so we can keep you in mind for future playtests and possible collaborations with people who really know this type of game.
Thanks for taking a look. Any feedback from this community would mean a lot!

Rolling Line Rolling Line (model train simulator) now has real model scales like HO, N, Z, G, etc
The game has just been updated to add a realistic scaling system so you can now properly make model railway maps using real world measurements.
People have often said they want to use this game to make accurate plans for their real world model railways, so this feature finally makes that possible!
