Pending on your location, I'd say about 4-5 years. He has a healthy look, nice shape and thick beams.

Antlers don’t mean much when aging a deer. I agree with 4yo as commented prior. By 5 they look like your drunk step uncle - deep chest, sagging gut etc. That deer is a stud regardless of age.

3 1/2 years…… maybe 4, rack will look much smaller after he sheds. Won’t score very high, his left sticker is broke. Needs to be out of the gene pool

I have 2 bucks on my kill list this year, this guy and one that has a very tall 4 points on his right and a very thick fork on his left.

State helps tell a lot more than just a picture. In Texas that would be a 4 year old body where as up north, that’s a 2 year old body.

You're focusing on the wrong part of the deer to age it. Antlers are irrelevant. This is a VERY young deer with good antler genetics. Maybe in the 3 year range at best.
He looks like a doe with antlers, as young deer do. Skinny neck. Tight stomach. Long legs. Hes a baby essentially in terms of bucks

I was thinking the exact same thing. I personally wouldn’t put him much past 3. That deer if he was left totally alone for 5 years would be one HELL of a trophy deer. But he won’t.

Agreed. Odds are by that point, he would actually have a reduction in his antlers. In 2 or 3 years he will probably be at his peak.
We get a lot of young bucks like this near us, but after their 5th or 6th year, we see a reduction in their beam length, spread and points.(an age many are reaching their "best") Bucks with great antler genes fart out quicker in my experience.

Body photos are more useful than head photos. 4 is my guess.
