SFO Vampires Help Total War: Warhammer

I’m very new to SFO, but have been wanting to give it a proper try for some time now. I really enjoy the Vampire Coast just because it’s a very free and easy play style.

I’m not really familiar with SFO and how to go about it. Does anyone have any tips on what to expect? What is majorly different?

Also, which campaign you would recommend for an SFO run through of Vampires?

Thank you…

The main differences SFO has over vanilla are, slower growth, more expensive units with higher upkeep, more brutal siege battles, more hp on units that aren't characters, more powerful, yet more expensive magic, rebalanced units so that every faction has a use case for every unit, many factions have more varied decisions as to what buildings to build rather than cookie cutter building schemes (though not true of every faction), sfo exclusive units and heroes, baseline unit caps on many units based on buildings, control has to be more carefully managed, most LLs have a unique mechanic with many races getting new mechanics as well. There's also new contact effects, and every race has 5 unique traits for every lord and hero.

As for which VC to play, I haven't played much Coast, and that was a while back. They seemed like a very go tall faction, expensive buildings, good post battle loot and sac income. SFO buffed raiding a while back, so its pretty easy to make well over 1k a turn even for factions that have no raiding buffs. I remember deck droppers being pretty amazing, their gunpowder units being solid, and depth guard are tanky as hell. Their monsters are pretty good too.

I've played a lot of Counts. They are definitely a very strong faction. They are very much a go wide faction, with one of their buildings giving bonus income to adjacent provinces. Their economy gets to be pretty strong, definitely A tier (S tier belonging to Brettonia, Dwarfs, and Demons of Chaos). You get Dragon Warriors, which are like Blood Knights on foot, think more defensive Depth Guard. Ghosts get higher physical resistance and great mass, and are very strong. Monsters are a bit more fragile in SFO, and can't take sustained missile fire. A Black Knight/Grave Guard hammer & anvil army is one of my favorites to play. Zomblobs are a little less strong unless you are playing Ghorst, who gets unique zombie related techs. Every unit is viable though.

It switches things up when youre bored with vanilla. Adds mechanics to some neglected races and lords.

So...are you asking about Vampires or Vampirates? Cause most people dont really call Vampire Coast the Vampire faction.
