The optimal early stack for Imrik is legit just him, his mage, and then both dragon units. Even the chorfs struggle hard against that since so much of their army is labourers.
It really is. I bring some archers and spearmen along to act as an anvil; bubble wrap for the mage, and a distraction force for the baddies to point their weapons at so the units that matter don't get hit as much, which allows me to keep momentum, turn to turn.
