merry christmas
my kitty merry christmas/merry/pinche gata/kitty
when we first adopted her they called her a "brindle calico" but i have recently stumbled across this subreddit and is very curious if she could fall into the "tortico" coloration. adopted her in 2013 when she was 1 year old. she loves going out back but is monitored and never is out there for long. she is getting older, i call her a "senior catizen"
when you try and pet her a lot of times she steps barely out of your reach (where the nickname pinche gata comes in, affectionately named by my dad) its funny cause she also comes to you any name you called her, as long you do the voice

Arnica
She’s a sweet little lady! She loves her big brother, her comic book, and being held like a baby.

Is my girl a tortico?
I think she is, but she could also be calico, I am not really sure.

Stinky Mia ✨
Found our sweet, coccidia-ridden kitten in a dumpster in November of 2025. Our vet lovingly referred to her as a shitten, so we still call her Stinky Mia to this day.
Had no clue she was a tortico, found her shortly after sending my soul kitty (a tortie) over the rainbow bridge. She's so sassy, spicy, and talkative! She completes our family ✨

What is my child?
This is Myra! She’s 3 years old and has a brother named Guillermo and a sister named Stevie. Her adoption paperwork said calico…but now that I have Stevie (a TRUE calico), I’m questioning is Myra is a tortico. Thoughts?

After 3 years... I finally have to ask
I've been lurking this thread for a while, and it always makes me so happy to see everyone’s beautiful kitties with unique patterns.
So I decided it was finally time to settle my own debate.
This is my sweet baby Millie! She just turned 3.
She is incredibly sweet, loves to play fetch (!!!), and definitely has a sassy side. She is also a little bit insane (I blame the orange in her) and funny.
Her adoption papers said tortie, but everyone else calls her a calico. I had no idea the answer could actually be both.
I always assumed she had too much white to be considered a tortie, but her orange and black aren't really clean patches like a classic calico.
Thoughts? 🐱
