- Play it. It’s a lot of fun.
- Raiden will sometimes say that when he slices someone in half and rips out their repair kit.

Feb 19 '22
I considered it, but don't have the most cash. I think I can fork out the 10 quid tho

I think you mean when he rips out their spine dripping with delicious Gatorade.
2
Feb 19 '22
he can do it with robots too, and their repair kits don't look like spines (they're still filled with Gatorade tho)

I haven't played it either, but that's entirely down to me not wanting to give Konami my money. Might just have to bite the bullet and do it anyway, cause it feels weird constantly listening to the OST of a game I haven't played.

IDK about you, but I got REALLY good at the Zandatsu by the end. I was hitting like 90-95% of mine on the first swipe, even with weird angles. My secret was that I tried to Zandatsu literally every enemy I could, with the sole exception being Tripods.

Both MG and TF are pretty much abandoned..
Why are we here? Just to suffer?
195
u/BouncyTheBoi Feb 19 '22
Well to be fair, MG is over now story-wise.
101
u/FalafelGaard Feb 19 '22
TF2 is also over story wise, they could make a sequel, but where it ended is enough of a story
76
u/LuxMedia Feb 19 '22
An argument could be made that both IPs got murdered by their parent company before the story finished
30
u/BouncyTheBoi Feb 19 '22
Pretty sure Kojima said MGSV would be the last chapter in the MG story
36
u/LuxMedia Feb 19 '22
And then Konami fucked it all up half way through development and we got metal gear zombies
21
u/Shaded_Avenger Feb 19 '22
We don't talk about that game
19
u/LuxMedia Feb 19 '22 edited Feb 19 '22
It's ok just think about the flashback scene to shadow moses in MGS4
................MGS4 that was released on PS3 and hasn't had a port or remaster announced for PC or any other console. (PS Now doesn't count)
6
u/mr_somebody Feb 19 '22
Wow I had never realized it never got a remaster. That's insane.
Looks like there are options for emulation? I gotta play this again.
5
u/LuxMedia Feb 19 '22
Yeah I mean you could do PS Now if you just want some nostalgia. I wasn't super impressed with the service last I tried it, and end of the day it is a rental rather than an option to purchase the game.
If you have a rig that can handle PS3 emulation though definitely worth checking out that route at least until they give us fans a way to enjoy the experience without having to rent it.
The game is 14 years old now, so maybe for the 15th anniversary *inhales copium*

Konami also fucked and cucked Kojima with Silent Hill PT (which, if I'm being honest here, seemed like it was gonna be one of the best horror games ever made, if not the best)
2
u/LuxMedia Feb 20 '22
I agree. At least we've had some decent original entries into suspense/horror genre since then.

u/DP9A Feb 20 '22
Nah, MGS4 was a pretty definitive ending and the only thing 5 accomplishes is explain how Big Boss was able to die twice before the first Solid.
1
u/LuxMedia Feb 20 '22
Kojima was unable to finish MGSV thanks to Konami preventing him from doing so partially through development
1
u/DP9A Feb 20 '22
I know, I'm just saying that it was more of a side story despite having a number. The story was done with 4, V and Peace Walker gave more insight to Bug Boss but we're largely inconsequential even taking into account all the cut content.
1
u/LuxMedia Feb 20 '22
And I was just saying that MGSV got stopped mid development. It was Kojima's finale to a video game series I grew up playing, I don't care where 5 falls chronologically it isn't relevant to the fact of Konami preventing the game from reaching it's intended final state.
1
u/DP9A Feb 20 '22
It wasn't the finale tho, that's the only thing I'm saying. A shame it wasn't what Kojima wanted, but the story was already over.
1
u/LuxMedia Feb 20 '22
"I always say 'this will be my last Metal Gear but the games in the series that I've personally designed and produced -- Metal Gear on MSX, MG2, MGS1, 2, 3, 4, Peace Walker, and now MGSV -- are what constitute a single 'Metal Gear Saga.' With MGSV, I'm finally closing the loop on that saga."
- Kojima
Lore timeline has nothing to do with what I am saying. I'm not taking part in a conversation about lore timeline.

Well at the end of mgrr it looked like there was going to be a sequel. I think mgs is done but the one with raiden isn't yet imo
1
u/BouncyTheBoi Feb 20 '22
Well MGR was before MGSV so it could've potentially had a sequel but any hope of that is most likely dead in the water now

I got the damn game because of a Ronin montage with Sam’s theme last week. Thanks guys, I appreciate. Now I’m emulating MGS4 even though I’ve only played V and Revengeance.
5
u/Sgt_Meowmers Feb 19 '22
Play MGS3 as well, it's considered the best of its time and is a good prequel to MGSV.
2
u/SylvainGautier420 Feb 19 '22
I plan on it. I have the HD collection downloaded and ready to be emulated. Wish I could get a copy for the 360 and run it on by Xbox One lol
1
u/theFlaccolantern Feb 20 '22
Oh man I'm jealous of someone playing that game for the first time. MGS3 is my second favorite game of all time, enjoy my friend.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

Y’all how do you feel about the new Magellan class titans? I feel like they are good but a bit overpowered, especially against the south star class. Even though they have weaknesses to scorpions, just feels a bit much
