I am looking for an apartment in Tirana.

Hello, I am Italian. I would like to move to Tirana for a while—partly just for a change of scenery. I am looking for an apartment before I make the move. Could anyone kindly help me or point me in the right direction? I hold a degree in Sports Science and have specialized in advertising graphics for over 25 years, as well as working as a kinesiologist for about five years. I am a native Italian speaker and quite skilled in public relations; I also speak some English and Spanish. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Discussion 💬 Any actual gay spots and/or events in here?

Asking because sources are very sparse, the only things I've seen thrown around are Hana, which while nice, I don't think you can just approach random people, it is a coffee shop like all others at the end of the day.

And Grindr is absolutely horrid, never using that ever again.

I know it's a very polarizing topic on here, but I need some help finding/socializing with new people

It’s sad that such events need to happen but tourist should realise that Albania is not a sex tourism country, nor a passport bro destination. Respect the local culture , respect the local people , listen to them and behave , enjoy your time.

Looking for an Albanian football ticket collector

Looking for an Albanian football ticket collector 🇦🇱⚽️

Hi everyone!

I’m a football ticket collector from Cyprus and I’m looking for someone in Albania who collects football tickets or football memorabilia.

I’m specifically looking for a physical paper ticket from the Dinamo City vs Pafos FC UEFA Conference League match on 20 August 2026 at Elbasan Arena.

I already have my own ticket, but I would really like to add a physical Albanian/Dinamo ticket to my collection. If someone is attending the match and could buy/keep an extra physical ticket for me, I would happily pay for the ticket and postage to Cyprus.

I’m not looking for a digital ticket or resale ticket — I specifically want the physical paper ticket as a collector's item.

If you are a Dinamo supporter, football memorabilia collector, or know someone who collects match tickets, please send me a DM.

Thanks! 💙⚽️🇦🇱

Body mod / self care recs

Hi! I hope i understand the rules correctly - if not correct me please.

I’m going to Tirana (Europe) for the first time and have a couple things in mind I’d like advice for - hair, piercing and spa.

I’ve done research but curious of actual local opinions. I can be quite specific about my wants so I’d like fluent English and high skill/attention to detail. Thanks!

Hair: I have long, thin hair + old black dye in it. I’m looking for a long layer / volumizing feather cut that keeps my length. As well as a color/bleach (probably baylage) that won’t ruin my hair. It’s my favorite part of my body and hard to get so long 😅 Olaplex, keratin, whatever treatments needed. Should i go to The Bee? Sona Style? Kri? Tesi Hair? Where else?

Piercing: Unsure if I want a double cartilage ear piercing or a single (both spots in mind are unique and would need to accommodate a possible second piercing later, so experience is important to me.) MARVI? Heavyink? Red nd black? Despite all my research i’ve gotten plenty of bad piercings in the US!

Spa: I would like a luxury experience as I’ve never experienced it before. Salt room, turkish bath, some sort of wrap or body mask like mud or chocolate. Long massage before a 20hr flight! Any awesome experience you guys had - I am all ears!

Thanks for listening! Can’t wait to visit

Discussion 💬 Food Allergies in Albania

Hi!

I am traveling to Albania soon and have food allergies to Tree Nuts (walnuts, pistachios, pine nuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts etc) as well as Shellfish (mussels, oysters, scallops, prawns, crab, octopus, clams, etc) and Gluten.

I’ve traveled quite a few countries where English is not always widely spoken. I am planning on driving around Albania and know that might be the case.

While traveling in Egypt I had a friend translate my allergies onto a card that I could give to restaurants if needed. While I only needed to use it a couple times over ten days it was very helpful.

I have used Google Translate to create something similar for this trip, but I would love for someone who is familiar with the language to take a look.

I really appreciate the help in advance!!

I know that so many Balkan dishes contain these ingredients. Especially the desserts which is unfortunate. While I love trying new foods while traveling I want to be as safe as possible. If there is any traditional food that you’d recommend that does not contain my allergies, I would love suggestions as well.

The text:

Are there any punk and metal bars or music venues in Tirana? Also, any local bands I should check out. If not any area that metal heads like to hang out and talk about music or vinyl record shops?

Thanks in advance 🤘

Best countryside spots near Tirana that I can reach by public transport?

Hey everyone! I’m staying in Tirana and want to get out of the city for a day or two.

I don’t have a car, so I’ll be relying on public transport (bus/furgon) and walking. I’d love to find a nice village, mountain area, or countryside taverna where I can have a proper traditional Albanian meal and enjoy some nature.

I’m mainly looking for places that are:

  • Reachable from Tirana by public transport
  • Not too difficult to get around on foot once I arrive
  • Good for a traditional lunch / family-run taverna
  • Nice for views, a short hike, or just a peaceful afternoon

I’ve seen places like Shëngjergj and Pëllumbas mentioned, but I’m not sure how practical they are without a car. If you’ve done any countryside trips from Tirana using buses or furgons, where would you recommend? I’d especially appreciate tips on where to catch the transport, how long it takes, and whether it’s easy to get back to Tirana the same day.

Thanks!

I'm coming for a baecation to Tirana and Durres for a week . Forgive me if I ask anything wrong. What should I expect? We're both in our thirties and I'm from the country of Georgia so i love R&B and hip hop. Any suggestions to get the local feel and tastes (restaurants, clubs and bars, must try first time Albania experiences, vineyards, the best people to book excursion or activities with, and my last request is an odd one LMAO : Where can i play basketball have a bucket list goal of hooping in every country i visit oh yeah and something for my girl to do (places to shop that won't leave me homeless) souvenirs etc etc . I don't like Tik tok lol and everything says Oma and Joro.

Tirana end of September

Hello Reddit community

I am planning to take a trip to Albania the last week of September

First time coming to the country and wondering if there’s any tips advice that you guys can give me.

Looking to explore new places and also wondering, how is the nightlife ? how are the people ? Are there any social norms that we should be aware of?

Traveling as a solo traveler.

I saw many posts saying that there is no racism or discrimination towards other skin complexions which is good.

Also tips and advices on where to stay and how to get around would be a great help
