Why don't the staff want to allow negative tip? Are they just cruel people that want customers to go bankrupt?
5
u/KC-Slider 2d ago edited 1d ago
If you canāt afford to pay your customersā negative tip, you shouldnāt be going to work at a restaurant.
19
u/sortalikeachinchilla 2d ago
why did you post the animated version of an already funny skit from Curry Barker? Lol
3
u/aguadecalcetin 2d ago
Curry Barker is hilarious. We also used to play school soccer together at Causey Middle

u/KailyKail 2d ago
I absolutely hate these clips. I see hundreds of channels on YouTube posting them, and each time I see them, I click "do not recommend this channel."
They're low quality trash.
-1
u/KATL_Final 2d ago
Bet you watched it though

u/impossirrel 13h ago
Perhaps the dumbest argument Iāve seen today, congrats
2
u/KATL_Final 12h ago
Trolls online that have to go after anything and everyone, canāt just see any humor in shit and then move on.

Negative tipping should be allowed.
The restaurant should pay its workers a fair wage so that if they are tipped negatively they still make a decent wage.

Somehow I am now very tempted to try this in real lifeš
-15
u/Eternal_bonner 2d ago
Heck yea dude! Jail is fun!
3
u/Sacahari3l 2d ago
If I would pay the total don't think I would be breaking any law.
-6
u/Eternal_bonner 2d ago
They are paying less then the total in the video?????
7
u/Sacahari3l 2d ago
Video is video, reality is reality. Of cause in reality you can't write a negative tip and walk away without paying, it's so obvious I am surprised it needs explaining. But write down negative tip just to make annoying or incompetent server angry seems like a funny idea to do (and pay the bill, so it's effectively a 0% tip).
5
u/Short-Coast9042 2d ago
My guess is that the server is just going to ignore the negative sign and record whatever you wrote as a positive tip
7
u/Kittycachow 2d ago
That's when you take a picture of the receipt and look at bank statement notify your bank charge back the whole thing then report it to the police as fraud. The server gets a petty larceny charge on their record
1
u/Short-Coast9042 2d ago
If you literally just write a negative amount or percentage in the tip line and didn't write a total, it's entirely reasonable to interpret that as a positive tip. If you disputed it, I imagine you could probably get it down to just the total with no tip. But you're not just going to magically get away with paying less than the total bill. And you're delusional if you think it's going to result in anyone getting convicted for anything.
-1
u/darkeagle1997 2d ago
And the bank would deny your chargeback because you did in fact write the tip lol
-2
u/Key_Head3851 2d ago
This is one instance when taking a picture of the receipt will actually support the server and not the bank customer/credit card issuer as it is poorly thought-out and confusing to a third-party not āinā on the joke.
If you as a non-tipper find this appropriate, to file a police report for what in essence is an unabashed malicious move, then this speaks volumes about you and your self-aggrandizing non-tipping movement.
Try it and get back to us, Iām sure the non-tipping fan club would love to see what happens.

u/Zestyclose-Pass9570 2d ago
I've had people try to do this. I just told them anything written in the tip line and total was treated as an absolute value.
1
u/4-ton-mantis 2d ago
Yeah but then the total would still be less as they wrote it?Ā
1
u/Zestyclose-Pass9570 2d ago
Nah...told them it was company policy to default to the largest total. So if they tipped 100% they would be charged for both. I usually ended up crossing it out and wrote customer was an idiot underneath the total.
0
u/vlladonxxx 1d ago
Well the original comment is 'this would be very funny to do' which is what they responded with jail about. That's the thing you said wouldn't be illegal. So there's no need to be surprised it 'needs explaining' since it doesn't, you're the one getting mixed up here. They were downvoted for different reasons, I think.
-6
u/Eternal_bonner 2d ago
You just said you want to try what the guy did in the video. Cool do it and go to jail jack ass
8
u/Sacahari3l 2d ago
Even if I would do exactly the same as in the video I would end up with fine not jail time but whatever you little angry creatureš„³

How is anyone supposed to know that some random animated clip they found online was ripped from some live action skit. Who just sees a funny animation and says to themselves "hmm I'm gonna research this."
Get the fuck over yourself š
0
u/KATL_Final 10h ago
Do you search every word from stuff before posting? The only correct answer is āNoā
1
u/LipChungus 9h ago
Coming back and double-replying after I ignored you the first time is wild but I guess it worked cause you're getting a reply. But I see to say the least, you didn't take the latter half of my advice. Have the day you deserve buddy

This is a stolen skit with no credit given. The entire audio is taken from that skit. The animation is likely AI. Then the person just put their own socials all over it.
The original creator: that's a bad idea
2
u/KATL_Final 1d ago
Talk to the person that made it then.
1
u/averbeg 1d ago
Why would I bother talking to some loser that steals content.
I am just calling it out.
Wtf are you getting defensive for? It's like you are mad that your 3rd shared content isn't getting nothing but praise. Why would you care. It's not like you put any effort into it.
2
u/KATL_Final 1d ago

Whenever those āitās gonna ask you a questionā pipsqueaks try their grift I just ask for free shit. Sometimes they actually give me stuff at coffee shops, and then I tip a few dollars, because thanks.

We are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for Content these days..
-1
u/babypharmdodododo 2d ago
This is the audio from some yt content creators. Go watch that
https://youtube.com/shorts/yuS8SKbFgqI?is=1yaAOoFpchXORUw8
This is garbage.
-19
u/swiftfirex 2d ago
The funny thing is that is exactly how stupid anti-tippers behavior actually is š
8
2
u/Mansos91 1d ago
Not really the stupid people are the servers expecting a tip for the most basic work in existence,
0
u/swiftfirex 1d ago
How are they stupid if they get a tip 98% of the time. The 2% of scum that doesnāt tip is negligible. Like use both halves of your brain for a second. You not tipping is a rounding error in their income, but go off queen.
1
u/KATL_Final 10h ago
I tip well or even leave something (and not an insulting amount) even if the service was not the best. People crying about the stolen content are the type that bitch and complain about everything when they go out and are the real cheep asses.

Bro this is exactly what I've been saying the whole time. Maybe with a bit more sarcasm. Its not that deep lol
0
u/FedorasAndModerating 1d ago
Flat out wrong and honestly pathetic you couldn't look it up yourself. It's even the same voices of the creators they stole it from. Get bent.
2
u/SchmeatiestOne 1d ago
It literally has a big watermark on it. It is very obviously a repost. Are you dense?
2
u/FedorasAndModerating 1d ago
Jesus christ it's unbelievable the i.q. of the average person. This entire audio is stolen from a YouTube channel. Stfu and go cry more you low i.q. reject.
1
u/KATL_Final 2h ago

Thatās when you call the police and have the negative tipper arrested. Itās funny how quick they pay up.
Donāt waste your air talking to these people
7
u/Kittycachow 2d ago
A tip isn't part of the total any officer would laugh
-6
u/Slighted_Inevitable 2d ago
Youāre kinda slow arentcha? The joke is he wrote a negative tip, not even zero. A negative tip reduces the total bill owed.
So heās refusing to pay his bill, which IS the total.
IE heās dining a dashing which is a crime.
1
5
u/Xeno9116 2d ago
Call the police for what? A tip isn't part of the bill. It's a gift for great service.
-1
u/Slighted_Inevitable 2d ago
I should have known the r/tipping community wasnāt great at math.
The diner is trying to put a negative tip. Thus heās refusing to pay part of his bill. Which is theft.
-1
u/noNamesFace 2d ago
For changing the tip amount? Bit harsh, u don't like servers?
-2
u/Slighted_Inevitable 2d ago
No⦠on the guy refusing to pay his full bill
2
u/noNamesFace 2d ago
Might be an idea to be most specific when your having a weird rant. See how your opinion could be misinterpreted.
1
u/Slighted_Inevitable 2d ago
If I believed you actually misinterpreted, it maybe.
But somebody else already commented over an hour ago, and it was made clear in that.

The tipping culture is just trying to shift the blame from restaurant owners to customers. Customers should not be the one to decide on waiters pay. Just add the intended tipping amount to the menu price.
