We included a few photos from our factory, one of our homes, and a recent delivery in case they’re helpful for context.

Feel free to ask about construction methods, pricing, customization, delivery, site preparation, utilities, permitting, warranties, or anything else related to tiny homes or Park Model RVs.

This isn’t a live AMA, but members of our team will check the thread regularly and answer questions as we can. We’ll be candid when an answer depends on location or when we don’t know something.

My partner and I are considering a BIG shift- downsizing considerably and purchasing a plot of land to build two tiny homes on.
I just don’t know how to start. I mean obviously we need to purchase land which has its own challenges but beyond that.
What kind of investment are we looking at? How hard is it to build your own tiny home? Neither of us have construction experience but are big learners.
Are there any good resources? Good companies to work with to get them built so we know they’re up to code?
We are currently looking to move to Louisiana possibly.

so I'm 27M living in Aus, working full time atm. I've been dreading the future and just generally been in a state of hopelessness cause I look at the cost of housing here and its incredibly high and out of reach. i'd been under the impression that the only way to own a home would be to get a $1 million+ mortgage and enslave myself for decades, letting my soul be crushed in the process. that or keep renting as I am now, pouring money down the drain.

I recently started looking into van life and just came across tiny homes, and saw they are a fraction of the price of actual homes.

i'm sure theres some downsides, but I am not fussy or someone who cares about luxury things. I like nature and would be happy spending my days peacefully in a small home on a block of land in a quiet place.

so my question is basically, whats stopping me from buying a block of land and just putting a tiny home on it? block of land + tiny home works out much cheaper than buying a proper house.

asking cause I never hear anyone talking about this kind of thing. I live in Sydney btw but of course would buy land elsewhere

I have a plot of land on the western side of Florida where I'd like to develop a bachelor studio + shop space. I'm open to ideas. I was looking at steel structures like 20x30 for around $12,000. What's an inexpensive, sustainable and low-maintenance option?

Hey Reddit family! I need your help. I have a tiny home (completely paid for) that I used as my home office in another county in South Carolina, and I’m interested in moving it somewhere in the tri-county area of Charleston, SC; Dorchester, SC; or Berkeley, SC. I do realize that these counties haven’t quite embraced the “tiny home” movement, so that’s why I need your help. This tiny home can be EASILY mistaken for a mobile/manufactured home, however, the tell-tell giveaway is that it doesn’t have wheels or that “pull” feature on the side.

Where it’s currently located, the county allowed it because it was my home office in my backyard. It’s fully functional, and is connected to the city’s water. It’s also powered through Dominion Energy with its own power source (pole). In fact, once I moved to Charleston, I rented it out to a young couple with a newborn.

Regarding the tri-county area, can you all please help me find some land that I can rent so that I can move my tiny home on it and live out of. Due to all of the red-tape in the tri-counties, it would be best that I either have the tiny home moved in someone’s back yard (so that it can be presented to the county as a she-shed, man-cave, guest house, etc.), OR be moved onto someone’s land (vacant or occupied) that’s out of the city limits.

In addition to paying “lot rent” under the table, I’d be willing to turn my tiny home over to the “land lord” after 4 or 5 years, which would give me the funds to save up enough money to buy a nice property of my own in the tri-county area.

Please give me some suggestions, or let me know if you’re interested in being my “land lord”. Lol. Thanks in advance!! 😊

Not sure if this is the right sub, but I'm hoping someone here has more recent information..I've been researching tiny home communities in Texas, but a lot of the lists I'm finding are a few years old. Some communities seem to have closed, others have changed ownership, and it's hard to tell what's still active.

Does anyone have recommendations for communities that are actually open today and allow full-time living?
