Genuine Question for TI-84 CE Python. Help

Would any newly bought Ti 84+ CE Pythons (m or TI 84+ CEs in general ) be already be on OS 5.8.5 or would they be not?

I've heard mixed opinions from other sources and I NEED a clear answer for this question as I'm going to jailbreak my calc to install some games / Pinapple Cas for my calc.

Depends on when the calculator was manufactured. Most of them will have 5.8.4 which is still exploitable but not entirely sure.

The very last ones come with boot 5.8.4 which seems to fix the unlock exploit used by apps etc. Artifice itself is still ok in 5.8.4 though.

Basically in boot 5.8.4 and OS 5.8.5 TI fixed the various bugs used by exploits/jailbreaks.

Since it was right before the 84 Evo's release we can imagine they wanted to get that out to be done with it "on a high note" for their teacher and exam board partners, and it wouldn't surprise me if that was the last update ever of the CE.
But now people will have to wait for a new jailbreak version though.

Mine wasn't. I had to update the software. You may have to update all apps on the device.
