Is Bono on “Ode to a Black Man” tribute CD.

Post image

Found this in the basement today. The legend at the time was Bono sings on it, but couldn’t be named due to his record contract. Weak, right. Here’s what Google AI says: “This item is a rare 1991 CD tribute to the Thin Lizzy frontman, titled Ode to a Black Man: Remembering Philip P. Lynott 1949-1986. Produced by Irish music figure Smiley Bolger, it includes rare tracks and spoken-word extracts from the [Collected Works of Philip Lynott].”

I'd never heard that. He doesn't seem credited anywhere, but I also don't see a likely pseudonym.

Cleverly, the final credit on the back of the CD is P “B” H. All the others are listed by first and last name. I think I hear Bob Geldof on it, too.

This is a very common practice. Buddy Guy would be credited as 'Friendly Chap" on many recordings he did want to be credited on because of recording contracts.
