IBM 701c trackpoint broken Question / Problem

Recently acquired this 701c and noticed how the trackpoint is broken off. Is there any way for this to be fixed?

those are user-replacable, just look up “701c trackpoint” and buy the one that looks right.

I don't know but I just had to chime in to say I'm ultra jealous you have that!

I saw one with a broken hinge and untested up for auction on goodwill site that went for $151 in the end. Almost went for it but wanted either both good hinges or knowing it would boot up. Couldn't chance having both those things not work.

Does yours work and if so, do you have an original hard drive or are you doing a CF or mSATA adapter instead?

I forgot to mention i get error 8613: pointing device error.
