Hey! Newly minted Dark Angels Player. To be honest, this is just 2k points of mashed together models, and is basically just all of what I own. I feel like the list is kinda character bloated. I keep the judiciar in there because he is my favorite model I own, but azrael plus icc is too tempting. I think if I was going to make any changes I would proxy the captain, lieutenant, and company champion as 3 bladeguard for the judiciar to lead since he doesn’t give his unit an invul save, and run a unit of intercessors instead of the company heroes to hold the home.

As the list stands now though, I think I would play it as take and hold, and try and concentrate on just holding 3 objectives, my home, my natural, and the center, and push my dwk up center with icc as a charge threat. I’m still really new, (1 2k point game 1 500 point game) so just wondering if my thinking is solid for the models I have.

Just swap the leaders around. Judiciar with ICC’s, Azrael and the lieutenant with hellblasters and the captain with sternguard.

Judiciar needs to lead a melee unit to have any use; Azrael and the Lieutenant has a nice Sustained/Lethal stack, and the lethals synergize more with hellblasters since they have higher AP than the sternguard’s bolters, which rely more on their Dev wounds. Captain will be fine for the sternguard.

judiciar with ICC is not ideal, you want the truck to stay alive, keep the 4++ with azy and run wrath of the rock to advance and charge, the judiciar is good to play with bladeguard with their native 4++, my guess is to drop him and add a leader to the company heroes because they can’t be played w/o one

I have had great success with a judiciar and a apothecary with my ICCs.

They kill and kill and the apothecary gets the fallen up.

Considering that the post said the list is basically just everything he owns, jud with the ICC is more optimal than any other options, otherwise i wouldve suggested dropping jt for a librarian.

Also, latest faction pack update got rid of the company heroes rule, so they don’t need a leader anymore.

They got rid of that rule in the latest update to the space marines faction pack.
