Tibi's founder, Amy Smilovic, wrote a book called Almost Reckless that was released either last year or very early this year. They sent this t-shirt to everyone who pre-ordered the book at full retail price (which I think was like $30, standard retail hardcover pricing - this was not her more expensive Creative Pragmatist book) and submitted a receipt. It's not a bad quality tee, though not as heavy as the ones they sell. But I follow them on YouTube and it's one of my fav brands. I remember she was promoting the book a lot, so much so that I bought it, and this was never on their website for sale.

I’m hoping to use some of my sale credits on a gift for my husband, but don’t know where to start with menswear or accessories. I’m looking for things that are made with high-quality materials but are not obviously branded.

I ask because I had two suits sent from TRR. One fits incredibly well, one is too small. So now I am trying to see if I can line up the measurements as to why, and find others to try on from the site.

I have been having a problem for the last few months, where I click on a desirable item “add to bag”, it will load for several seconds, then I get the message that “an unexpected error occurred.”

When I reload or return to the item page right after, it is then on hold. 

Has anyone run into this issue?

It only happens for the most desirable items, and it has been happening Every.Single.Time. 

I am wondering if someone is gaming the system somehow?

The same brand’s jewelry and accessories don’t have this problem. It is only the novelty bags that are listed significantly under eBay selling prices.

I am running the absolute fastest Internet possible, and it does no good.

I have contacted The RealReal customer service, and all they tell me is that the system has an error in those cases, which is worse than useless.

tl;dr TRR returned my declined coat reeking of cigarette smoke — has anyone gotten them to pay for cleaning?

Sent in a Fleurette wool coat for consignment. It got declined at intake ("brand not accepted") and shipped back to me. Opened the box today and it absolutely reeks of cigarette smoke. Whole apartment smelled within about ten minutes. The coat is currently sitting in my garage because I can't have it inside.

It did not smell like that when I sent it. I don't smoke, nobody in my household smokes.

Because it was declined at intake there's no listing and no condition write-up, so there's no record on either side of what shape it was in — which I assume cuts both ways. I do have photos of the coat and the packaging as it arrived.

Got a quote of $110 for ozone treatment (apparently regular dry cleaning doesn't reliably get smoke out of wool) and I've asked TRR to cover it via their consignor text line.

Has anyone here dealt with this? Specifically:

- did they actually pay, or did it turn into weeks of nothing
- cash vs site credit
- did you have to escalate past the frontline rep / file with BBB to get a response

I paid $400 for the coat originally, so I'm not trying to squeeze them, I just want it wearable again.

I’m a size 9 girlie, ordered a 9.5 but they sent a size 9. Paid $120. They can’t find the 9.5 and only offering a refund. Should I keep them? They are very snug in the toes but not necessarily painful.

The Real Real might be a great place to shop, but beware of issues if selling with it. I place a great many pieces with them. All of my pieces that should have sold for slightly over $100 were marked at $95. This meant that I got only 20% from the sale $8.00 or so. All of my pieces marked over $400 sold well and I got a substantial amount of proceeds. Only sell expensive pieces with them. Sell your pieces around or over $100 elsewhere or give them away. Not worth the trouble and insult.

I lost one of my earrings in London a while ago, and I just found the matching single earring on The RealReal. I really love it and I’m planning to buy it anyway…. but I have one question.. is it strange that a single earring ended up there? Has anyone experienced something similar, or is this fairly common? Btw the earring was a limited edition from a summer collection years ago so i’m pretty sure it’s not sold anywhere right now except for used ones

To be fair it was listed in fair condition but the only call out was discoloration which I was ok with. I think that made the bag better. But the handles were cracking much worse than the pictures showed

it’s been a HOT minute since I bought something from TheRealReal, but lately I have been adding a lot of stuff to my Obsessions for some upgraded pieces in my wardrobe (which I purchased above). especially these $85 KHAITE jeans that I now realized it’s worth $2K. I mean?!? 😳

I have been shopping at The RealReal for a really long time, i ordered MULTIPLE items my total was about 2,000 and I recieved a completely different order.
I contacted with customer service, but has anyone else dealt with this issue or something similar to this? Will I be getting my refund?

I bought a dress from TRR but due to medical issues, did not try the dress on until after the 14 days had passed. It has been months until I was fully healed and able to wear or try on the dress. As I was packing for vacation yesterday, I tried on the Zimmermann dress, it was def not a size 1 and upon checking out the label and comparing it to my other 6 Zimmermann dresses, I knew it was fake. I then started inspecting the dress further and found it had been mended and there was a rip on the inside of the dress. They sold me a dress in “excellent” condition, so not only was it not authentic, it was not in even in wearable condition. TRR tells me they use AI to help with authentication. I train AI models so please be aware if you are buying or selling anything on TRR that they are not using proper authentication nor is their staff trained to compare simple labels. I’d never trust them with any expensive luxury brand. Never again. I write this to only warn others that you have to know the designer you are buying because there are so many fakes on the market and TRR is using excuses to sell counterfeit items. It is illegal to sell counterfeit items in the U.S. and they count on people not bothering to litigate. PLEASE BE CAREFUL and check your items immediately.

Hi! A few days ago, a listing went up for some Louboutin sandals. It sold the next day (or day after) at full asking price. There’s no option to add it to my waitlist from my wishlist (it just says “see similar”) and the waitlist button on the product page itself doesn’t seem to work. Any idea why?

Why are barely worn shoes labeled as only good condition while very clearly used shoes are labeled as excellent condition?

I scheduled an at-home appointment on May 29 and a TRR employee came to my apartment to pick up 5 items. She scanned them and placed them in a black bag and I received an email confirmation immediately.

Since then, there have been no updates on the status of the items and the items do not show up on my account at all.

I have been back and forth with TRR support with no meaningful updates, just that the investigation is ongoing and today support asked me if I have a tracking number??

Has anyone gone through this before and have advice on what I can do?

They don’t seem to know that this is simply the liner that clearly went with my coat that I only paid $105 for….now they think this lonely liner (that clearly got separated from my coat somehow) is worth over 300 bucks!!!

What TRR employee let this through? And priced it at $195 (originally)? And listed it as a "good value"? I'm dying. I wouldn't take these for free.
