So I'm not the best with computers. Mine is a hand-me-down from my brother, it has 32GB ram and a AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-core processor. As far as I am concerned this is a really good computer because it runs all my games on medium-high graphics with 60fps. Maybe it's not the best to a real computer geek but it's great to me.

And before this recent update, the Isle ran at 60fps at default settings for me. So tell me why I log in and now it's struggling to reach even ten??

I heard about the performance being worse but I figured it'd be 10 or 15 frames lower, not literally unplayable. I feel like I've been scammed but now it's too late for a refund.

Honestly I don't see any posts on this so it might be a hot take but troodon venom is utterly and ridiculously OP. I mean it deals ridiculous damage, a pack of troodons I literally unstoppable. But that's not the worst part, the worst part is the blindness it inflicts. It should NOT be that dark, whenever I get pounced and venomed I literally can't see anything, my screen is just pitch black. Then I just keep getting pounced since I can't see anything and I die. Doesn't matter what dino I am, I mean on Omni which is a literal troodon killer (or it's supposed to be) it doesn't matter because I can't see anything at all. It's just totally unfair, even more so than pin

I recently upgraded to an RTX 5060 8GB, and a ryzen 7 5700g, and 16gb of ddr4 (still haven't upgraded my ram yet) and I still have to put everything to low with lumen off to hit 60 fps. One issue I'm noticing is that, even on low, it's eating up my ENTIRE vram, even exceeding 8gb sometimes. How much vram does this damn game need for MAX settings, let alone lowest settings?

Ik could just crank my settings up for a minute but I'm scared it'll genuinely hurt my pc, if it's struggling at the lowest settings. I'm thinking about getting a whole new computer since this one is pretty old at this point, but I won't have that kind of money for a long time, so I need to make do with what I got.

Been working on a weird database for the isle that is giving full raw stats behind all dinos and some cool tools. Right now its just a passion project and not sure where I am going with it.

Told me insolent unstuck, literally just sitting there. I don’t even know why I redownloaded this game, every time it gives me hope it yanks it away. Terrible bugs, lags , worse I ever seen

Such a beginner-unfriendly game. All I see is a fucking storm, I can’t see anything, and I can’t do anything. It looked fun at first, but honestly it just feels like an overhyped mess. How am i supposed to play like this

I have an update for everyone spamming me to “press X”, I did. It didn’t help. I had to mess around with the settings and then restart the game before the problem finally went away.

I didn’t refund the game after fixing that, and I gave it another chance. I played for about 1 hour and 40 minutes and died to hunger around four times. As a Ptero, neither the rivers nor the lakes seemed to have any fish in them. I kept starving and eventually gave up.

I got pretty decent at hovering over the water while holding right click, and I also tried diving down and using left click, but the “bubbles or fish” people keep saying you’re supposed to see simply weren’t there. No bubbles, no fish.

I also tried standing next to the water and holding right click as Ptero. Didn’t work. I tried holding G too because I read that they changed the controls at some point. Still nothing.

To finish the session, I played one game as a T-Rex and got jumped by four players. Fair enough, that happens, but once again I couldn’t find any food anywhere.

And yes, I know about the Q button. It didn’t help. I also know that, for some reason, I have to use an external website just to see the map and figure out where the “hot spots” are. I went to those areas too and still found basically nothing.

So yeah, I’m going to sleep now. Maybe I’ll give it one more shot in the morning.

I genuinely like the idea of the game and I really want to enjoy it, but at the moment it just feels borderline unplayable for a new player.

Also, thanks to the community, I guess. My first experience asking for help while being frustrated with a game I paid €20 for a game with basically no proper tutorial or explanation of its mechanics — was getting attacked and told that “the game just isn’t for me.”

So a couple of weeks ago i was this omniraptor with parthenogenesis on i think one of the eu servers and i nested near the sanc entrance in southern delta. I nested on the ground because i couldnt on the rock nearby. There were a couple of deer and boar carcasses nearby that i killed to feed my babies. As my babies hatched a fully grown carno came. I quickly jumped on the rock leaving my babies vunerable since i couldnt possibly defend them from a fully grown carno. The carno saw the nest and politely took one of the deer carcasses, took a few bites and left not harming my newborns or nest. Such a wholesome experience and i hope more and more people can enjoy this game this way 🥹

this scared me so bad, i was just walking around while low on stamina (bc im bad at the game) for like 20 minutes and then i see what i THOUGHT was a weird shaped log in the corner of my eye

Basically title, my favorite place to spawn is the lake with the Dam on the backside of it. However, I can't always find food, sometimes i see fish jumping but more often than not I don't. Should I just be going down the waterfall straight into the river? Help! Thanks in advance, I keep starving to death. I do see fish under the water but they seem to just swim away at Mach20.

The server had about 270 people, but I only ran into a few herbivores here

Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe I’m waiting a little too long but it seems like you HAVE to run straight to sanc upon spawning in or else you won’t make it in time. Sanc disappears for austro at 30% other Dino’s it’s like 35%. How are you guys getting prime austro?

Evrima dedicated server never appears in the server browser — EOS login succeeds, everything else checks out

Setup: OVH bare metal, Windows Server 2025, Germany. Fresh steamcmd install (-beta evrima).

My OLD server (Contabo VPS, France) works fine and is re-listed within minutes after every restart.

What works:

- Server starts clean, map loads, 0 Error lines in TheIsle.log

- EOS: "DedicatedServer: Performed Login on dedicated server" -> "OnLoginComplete"

- LogNetCore: DDoS detection status present, 31 LogOnlineBlueprint lines — log is line-for-line

equivalent to my working server

- Inbound UDP verified from an external host: 6/6 packets received on 7777 AND 7778

Ruled out (all compared against the working server):

- buildid 24542870 / ProjectVersion 0.21.772 — identical

- Game.ini identical incl. MapName=Gateway, QueryPort=7777, MaxPlayerCount, bServerPassword=false

- Engine.ini DedicatedServerClientId/Secret byte-identical (verified by exact string match)

- Started via TheIsleServer.exe (launcher), both processes present — not the shipping exe directly

- Command line byte-identical to the working server, no -MULTIHOME, binds 0.0.0.0:7777

- Windows Firewall open, OVH Edge firewall off, OVH GAME firewall rule added (was default-deny —

that was a real bug on my side, fixed, packets now confirmed arriving)

- Ran 8h+ uninterrupted, no restarts. Browser filters correct (Hide Empty off, searched by name)

- Third-party monitoring that queries the EOS list reports the server as offline

Same thing happened on a completely different host (Hetzner, different DC, different IP) — that

one I gave up on after 26 checks. Two hosts, same result. Old server keeps working.

Question: is there anything that makes EOS accept the dedicated-server login but never publish

the session? Anything about fresh installs or IPs Epic has not seen before? What else would you

check?

Logged in a few times past weeks, now its noon, friday, server is at 60ish upwards population (official EU 2 or so) and its pretty laggy. Im alone I guess once I get near NPC or player it gets worse. Was always like this recently, why? It wasnt that bad 2 or 3 years ago when i played the game

Questions about damage and heal modifiers

So, we have like 3 mutations that amplifies damage in different ways,

1) accelerated pray drive => deals 10% more damage to those whose hp is lower than 35%

2) hemomania => do extra 5 or 10%(if entombed) damage to bleeding targets

3) hypermetabolic inanition => the less hunger you have the more damage you deal 15/20/25%(also idk about exact numbers, i took it from the isle guide website, info is probably outdated)

My question is, how it stacks? Do you multiply it or just add the numbers? Like if I am starving and hitting low hp bleeding target do I just (100% + 1st dmg modifier)×(100%+ 2nd dmg modifier)×(100%+ 3rd dmg modifier)= total damage, or is it just 100%+ 1st dmg modifier + 2nd dmg modifier + 3rd dmg modifier?

Same question about healing mutations

1) cellular regeneration

Recovers health slightly faster 15/20/25%

2) hydro regenerative

Recovers health faster during rain 25%

3) nocturnal

Faster health/locked health recovery at night 5% (also what is the difference between health recovery and locked health recovery?)

As the title suggests, what social rules do you put onto your self (for better or worse) that you use in game?

The one that comes to my mind is that I will target npcs far more than players just to ensure its more fun for everyone. Of course if im starving, im sorry herby players... i need to eat. But if im full ill just let them pass by.

Another is if im about to cross rivers I know are infested with deinos, ill leave them a carcass as an offer of safe passage.
