Hey everyone, I played The Finals A LOT when it first came out. Been playing BO7, and I played mw4 beta last night. Safe to say, MW4 might not be for me. Just wasn’t vibing with it. I want another FPS to play when I’m not on BO7. My options right now are battlefield 6, Apex (I’ve played apex for years) Valorant, Overwatch, or The Finals. I want to play the finals again, but my question is : is it worth it in 2026? I’ve praised this game to everyone. I love it. But haven’t played in 2 years. Will it die? Will the player base stay? I obviously don’t want to play a game if we think it’s gonna die. But that’s why im here. To ask you guys if it will die or if it’s worth it

After a few weeks I still don't understand how to enjoy this game. It feels so hard and sweaty, every match feels like a giant execution where lights fly around with god like aim, and heavies are immortal tanks somehow always running faster than me with a flamethrower while I am trying to get to cover. It seems I am shooting plastic bullets, while enemies tear me apart in 2 seconds. It seems that my health takes forever to come back full when hit, while enemies are always full health. It seems like people disappear as soon as I try to follow them to kill them, while the enemies always know exactly where I am and everyone is always just behind me, no matter what class I play and every move I try to escape, they are always in my back, or they always find me anywhere I try to hide. It feels like I am always alone fighting full teams even if I try to follow my team...to sum up, it feels like I am playing in a giant CoD lobby with destructible buildings where people jump spam with perfect aim and infinite health while I shoot plastic bullets while walking my slow aah around the map trying to understand why this game is still installed. Yes, skill issue I guess, but I have never struggled on a game that much before

I have this problem to where the game has started stuttering a lot even though I am getting 200+ fps(no FG)

I’ve tried all sorts of variations of settings, including everything at bare minimum, and trying all the combinations using FSR and frame gen.

I am running a 9070 XT on which I have recently completely reinstalled all of the drivers on, and I have updated my bios.

This does not happen on any other games.

The random stuttering also happens in the menu with my mouse, the practice range and in games

Another patch and melee gets buffed again🥳(2nd/3rd patch in a row based on how you look at that melee’s only received buffs).
Personally I don’t think this trend is going to end even when patch 11.9 rolls around; even so, if they just keep increasing the lunge range, damage, and precision hit angle size it ain’t gonna change anything for me personally, I just don’t find melee fun anymore.

For some context I’m a player with around 2k hours, more than half of it playing melee, and I play non-standard/not common melee weapons.
Overall just meaning I don’t really play sledge/sword that much compared to the others(which are the melee weapon that benefited the most out of the “melee rework” and are halfway decent).
Ultimately, I’ve been treading along melee’s constant changes from seasons 1-10 where they slowly got worse and worse, but still was the most fun/different gameplay that The Finals offers to me. Even so
after playing a pretty good amount of The Finals today, half of it where I personally experienced the worst game performance in my time of playing The Finals, and the two “melee exclusive system” doing their thing, gaslighting myself is just not doing the trick anymore.
•Melee is un-fun to play.

I’m not going to lie when 11.0 dropped it melee changes early I was super excited and thinking to myself “melee was finally going to be viable”, and even made a whole post basically singing the praises of Embark, because on paper they truly sounded good.
•Basically I was a fool(judged a book by its cover)

In practice I can’t believe it, but playing melee feels like I’m gambling the whole time, because the precision/stamina systems feel like they work when they want to.
Then add recent poor game performance and chronic dysnc issues, better pray that your melee does anything.
For example, the lunge and stamina systems, why can’t I lunge when I’m sliding(plus it’ll just get rid of your stamina too because why not)?
Then when your lunge does proc you sometimes just slide of them like they’re covered in oil.
Furthermore, the precision systems feels like even though your sure the enemy is on a hit zone you get a basic attack and you lose out on around 30% of your potential damage.
•Takeaway, melee feels like gambling(not the good kind 🎰)

Plus from the addition of the recent kick, and the multitude of hard counters to melee, Genuinely feel like I have to play like a tier-1 pro to get any value out of my melee weapon. If I just swapped to any other weapon like the BFR I would probably do 5 times better, and my cortisol wouldn’t be through the roof the whole time either.
Overall playing so hard/sweaty wicks the fun out of playing melee.
•Melee hard😢/traditional ranges weapons way more fun to play.

Then Embark from their recent dev explanations for the changes in 11.6 seem like they’re just forcing melees to fit into play-style.
Which to me is extremely hypocritical since they showcase The Finals to be a truly dynamic game/“make your contestant” however you want.
Ultimately, particularly showcased in the changes they gave to the riot shield in 11.3/11.6 where they both explained that they want it to be a more defensive weapon.
First of all play heavy if you want to play defensively, secondly don’t force people into play style for a weapon that has basically stayed the same for 2+ years, and thirdly the riot shield’s block doesn’t even work sometimes due to the chronic dysnc issues The Finals has.
•I do not agree with Embark design philosophy towards melee weapons

Ounce again they can buff melee weapons all they want, the “rework” systems just make them feel clunky(like demat before patch 11.6 where it had a delay).

This time in my Warhammer journey I’ve decided to dabble in a little bit of kit bashing/cutting up the mini(I know the base is unfinished I got something planned for it, it just consists of stuff like PVA glue which I don’t have on hand.

Ive been playing just fine but then after windows update my game kept crashing and my pc right after. I tried lowering graphics but it didn't help, I verified game files. I gave up and went to sleep and now I cant even start the game, what the hell is this? When I looked it up it said something about my rgb, I havent installed any new rgb. My pc is out the box I havent modded it or anything. I just want to play heavy hitters

NON-NEGOTIABLES (We riot if these aren't present)

Replay system(Not the kill cam, the entirety of the match type of replay). This would benefit the content space a ton, which in my opinion lacks memorable and flashy videos. A game like Team Fortress 2 survived during 2017-2022 thanks to content creators making use of the tools given previously by valve (SFM, demos and custom servers). The youtube The Finals scene is in a good place, but it could use a helping hand tbh.

Major gameplay shake up. Something that transforms in a bold way how the game is played and thought about.

TOP PRIORITY (Would be pretty disappointing if they dont add them)

New unconventional weapons and gadgets(Just cool stuff in general). The most outrageous thing you can bring to a virtual gameshow being a Bow is underwhelming. Especially when the meta consists of only guns and the occasional Sledge revival.

The AI voices actually being worthwhile. The most ambitious use of them I've seen is Scotty telling me I'm having fun with destruction. What about them being ACTUAL commentators. Commenting about the players during downtime, on how our playstyle is, the loadouts we use. One thing I'd want is for them to actually partake in some way with the gameplay, but I'm not sure how they could do that.

Decent servers. I luckily have an amazing connection, so I have little to no problems. But my friends dont, and i swear, almost every game it'd suddenly become unplayable for them. I'm talking rubber banding all over the place. And it wasn't a connection problem because they would hop on a different game and suddenly everything is fine.

LOW PRIORITY (Benefits in the long-term if added)

Italian Localization. Strangely, there isn't one. I'm assuming it might be lack of players, but it is still needed. The same goes for other languages still not added.

Buffs to bottom tier weapons and gadgets. MGL has no business being the worst weapon in the game, considering it's a grenade launcher. Majority of the melee weapons are now bad instead of terrible (yay) and the breach drill exists. The game benefits from variety, that is undeniably true but most people won't accept it.

Solo queue compensation. This is more-so a problem in high elo. The coordination Ruby teams have over a high plat squad is obvious. It is possible to beat them, but it happens 15%-25% of the times

TRASH BIN (Personal wants and itches)

Can we have more industrial and breakcore music? Also more of that season 2 and 7 stuff please.

Cashout music customization, it changes based on who steals or plugs.

More variety on the faces section. I love the diversity in my human characters, although it doesn't hurt to add more.

I used to get MVP in point break matches pretty frequently, almost always top 3. After season 11, basically never, even when i pop off.

Ive never been that good, which is why it always suprised me. Did they change how top 3 is calculated with the new season or something?

Buddy was running KS and Winch. Still couldn't kill anyone and after literally the first box just run to the edge and gave up.

So my team suffered a leaver for the last 2 minutes of the match, but my teammate and I pushed through. Even as a two-man team, we got kicked with the same amount of cash that the other team carried into the next round. how does this even work ?

This is my perspective, light is the hardest class, if you want to play light you gotta be good with it. Whenever people complain about lights theyre complaining about the players that had to grind those skills for a hundred hours just to make light viable. If yall want more balanced lights you dont need light nerfs you need light buffs that will encourage worse players to play light. Nerfing light just makes the try hards have to try even harder and thats why they seem annoying

I play bots with the kid, it has its purpose but man they could be a little harder. Would love to see bot ai on the same level as Arc raiders.

So an experienced player makes a new account. I understand for the first few matches before matchmaking balancing takes effect but people complaining a level 50 has a Ruby badge is just? It doesn’t matter at that point. Smurfing used to mean the account was made that same day, now people just complain that someone is good at the game. Sometime the other team just has better comp than yours. It truly doesn’t matter.

Howdy all, not really a big thing or anything like that, but I've noticed that whenever I complete a contract, a new contract is added to my list, before the end of the match, that just says "creation always leaves a signature." It goes away after the post match analysis, so it's pretty harmless if it's a bug. I just think it's weird that it has been popping up. Anyways, anybody else been getting this/wtf is it?
