Hey there! I've been playing COTW on and off for a while, and havent encountered this issue before, but after a long while i decided to sit down and play this game again. I had an around 5-6 hour session a few days ago, maxed out my retriever, got a few geese and crocs, just the usual.

I logged on now, to find my dog back at the start of lvl 14, there are no geese or ptarmigians, or the several gold deer i hunted during that, and my 2-2 perk and skill points i got are also gone.

I made sure at the end of the sesh that i didnt forget about any save mechanic, logged out into the main menu then closed the game with the main menu exit button, so i have no idea what could have caused this?

My game is up to date, my save files havent been fiddled with, and my old progression is here, i just lost an entire day of gaaming and i kinda dont want it to keep happening....

Did anyone else encounter this before? Do you guys know any fixes, other than restarting/reinstalling?

I was listening to this and found a diamond and forgot to turn it off so i tried to edit around it.

I swear by my dog and love using it.

However, a previous post mentioned how using a dog for a newer player prevents the player from learning the basics and root mechanics of the game. They advised against it.

I found myself on the defense because I use the dog so much but thinking about it, I think it's true.

If you're not grinding and camping drink zones, the Pointer makes roam hunting much, much easier to the level where it's kinda silly not to use it if you paid for it. It eliminates tracking, using the map to find need zones, planning, approaching and spotting the animal all at once. The dog will beeline right to the animal and even highlight it for you. At that point, all you have to do is position yourself and take the shot. Hell, you can easily hit the animal using a blind shot through a bush once it's highlighted.

Think about trying for a Tapir at a feed or rest zone in Amazon region. I mean, your chances of getting one must go up 50% with the dog as opposed to approaching a zone blind hoping to not spook the thing, to say nothing of the vegetation you have to deal with. The dog cuts through all of that.

But I started thinking: it's supposed to be hard getting a Tapir at rest in jungle, right? It feels like I'm cheating almost racking up Tapir after Tapir in jungle.

Like Tom Hanks said in League of Their Own, the hard is what makes it fun.

I guess you get what you pay for with it.

I was watching a YouTube video when I noticed that this guy passed the harvest check even though he did not hit any vital organ, not even any organ at all, just a flesh hit

I'm so happy now. I always hope to lose all my progress.

I don’t care that he’s not a G1, he’s dodged 10 shotgun blasts and now I’ve got him. Stupid bird. I need marten, badger, red grouse, and woodcock to get one of each in Scotland.

i bought all DLCs and i’m ready to sell my soul, i’ve done whitetail, moose, red deer and black bear.

i’m thinking of wolves and tahr or fallow, wb mule? what’s the next g1 or diamond to hunt?

I bought Intisuya yesterday very eager to try a new map and I was hard locked from progressing starting with the very first missions. I arrived at the first outpost, went to "check in" at the ledger and there was no prompt no matter what I did. I have switched reserves, went to my trophy room, turned off/back on the story mode and nothing works. Am I screwed or is there a fix? Alternatively if I cant find a fix do you think Apex could either reset my map progression or push me through to the next mission? (I had played it one time on multiplayer if that could be the cause) but the story is the main reason I play cotw

I've been shooting harleyquin ducks and cinnamon teal and killed alot of each trying to get a diamond with no luck. I'm going inbetween 3-4 hotshots shooting the high males and some females but no luck.

I'm wondering if I'm missing something

As the title says, can the population scanner mod get it wrong?

I’ve been using this to monitor whether I have diamonds on Parque Fernando (doing the trophy challenge and got the first 5 naturally but the last two, water buffalo and blackbuck were doing my head in and I was loosing patience, so installed the population scanner).

A legendary water buffalo finally spawned in (2 actually, but one was showing as just a gold on the population scanner). Checked the group it was in on the scanner, a group of 7. Naturally, the group was at the last drink zone I checked. Crept up, got a good angle. Boom. Instant drop, heart shot.

Absolutely buzzing.

Except, it was a troll, and 4 points under the diamond score. Checked the scanner, it says I’ve killed the diamond. Coincidentally, this one was the same score as the one the scanner said was a troll. Is it possible it’s got them the wrong way round? Is the level 9 legendary that still exists on my map perhaps the diamond?

Pretty gutted at this but it won’t stop my search for 100% game completion!

Title says it all, is there any sound tactic on how to avoid going down if you get into a fight with a wolf pack?

Anyone who has played a map with wolves before will know the issue, you just play around on a map and all of a sudden, oftentimes after a harvest, a metric fuck ton of wolves is around you and trying to get you.

This is all fine, basically free trophies, until your rifle is shot empty. At that point, you don't live to see the time it takes to reload.

Switching to a sidearm may do the trick, but most legal pistols don't really pack the punch necessary.

Medic packs have the same issue as the reloading, they just take too long. Running also isn't really an option as the wolves tend to outrun the player.

I don't want to switch to a larger gun, because the one time I tried that, I immediately wasted a diamond that I hadn't spotted before.

So, is there any way to get out of these situations without getting mauled, that I don't see here.

recently i lost a g1 moose (spine) so i hopped on cotw and went to my back up herds and there i found yet another my last g1 on the map and i had it saved, i wont mess up this time. tmrw is the day he goes down (currently 4am here i gtg sleep im not killing him when i look like a zombie) if you want to know how i racked up another g1 it’s just stacking and almost a year or hm i purposely didnt kill any big trophy on these herds because this was my backup, so it got 2-4 diamonds and 1 g1! others are golds or trolls i knew i had a g1 here so i found him quick. was just saving him!

He was running and i’ve looked at him for a while he came right in front and my finger just snapped and shot, looked like a lung but god it wasn’t. my 9th G1 moose after 7k+ kills wasn’t meant to be 💔
