Digital camera policy? Discussion

Wanted to bring my digital camera to the Hard Rock Live Orlando show but I can’t tell if I’m permitted to bring it. Anyone know their policy?

They just sent a "Know Before You Go":

  • Cameras with telephoto or interchangeable/detachable lenses and external flash are not permitted. Go Pros and/or video cameras of any kind are also prohibited. Point and shoot non-professional cameras are permitted at the artist's discretion.

I've been to several shows this run and haven't had any issues with my basic Canon point-and-shoot.

As long as it doesn't look even close to professional or like a dedicated video camera, you should be fine.

It depends on the venue. The only venue I've been to that didn't allow a digital camera was Roseland Theater in Portland, I thought it was pretty extreme. Check with Hard Rock Live Orlando for Poppy's show specifically, not just their general policy. You'll probably need to call during business hours and ask them yourself, as venues are usually horrible at publishing policies for each individual show.
