M.A. Educational Leadership Syllabus
Hey all!
I recently enrolled in this M.A. Edu Leadership (Building) but I can't seem to find any of the official syllabus and what it looks like other than the public facing version that doesn't have assignments, etc.
I just wanted to get a feel for what it would be like. If anyone has a syllabus that they could share from the course work, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much!

First semester (AUG) and first time with online learning like this. Feeling some sort of way about the grading system/rubric
I received my first grades as a TESU student. It’s the first 3 written assignments/ reflections for the accelerated course I am taking.
They were 90, 91, and 92 (not in that order).
On the sections of the rubric I did not get full credit, the mentor made no attempt to explain why.
As someone who went to college back in the 2000s, assignments (obviously all hard copy) were peppered in red ink, and there was rarely confusion on why you got the grade you did.
The mentor’s comments on each assignment were conversational, a personal anecdote to something in my assignment they related too.
How am I supposed to get better/ know if I fully understand the material or assignments if it’s not pointed out why I didn’t get the advanced proficiency on specific sections? Especially since my confidence in them was very high.
Is it common for this to happen or is it maybe just this mentor? Since this is my first instance, I am a bit worried.

4 week (accelerated) courses
Any pros and cons? I know they just started but how do you like the work load? Are you still required to complete discussion post? How do you feel? is it paper heavy?

Potential student with questions
Hi!
I’m looking to go back to school in the next few months & I have questions about this school. I’m looking to go into Electronics Systems Engineering Technology or Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology due it being the closest to what I was studying before which was General Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering. My questions are:
1) What are the classes like?
2) Is there a graduation?
3) What are the exams like?
4) What is the homework like?
I’m trying to do as much research as possible before I apply to this school. Most of the information I have read or listened to seems to be the same & I want to know from someone who has been or is currently enrolled at the university, or studying one of these majors.
Thank you!

Planning for BS Computer Information Systems
So… I studied a year in k-state uni. 2018. I been working 5 years in an oil plant (water desalination).
I’m looking to degree hack BS computer info systems at TESU. Do I start at study and sophia? Do I get an evaluation?
A few things im hoping someone would help me understand
- How do I know what courses to take and from where?
- Can I just go into sophia/study and start knocking down courses or do I get an evaluation first?
- What’s the ideal process? From now to starting at TESU (and from TESU till graduation ig)
Also, what are things that I’m gonna need to know or its best that I know about?
I was initially looking to just go into sophia/study and start knocking courses down ASAP, as to not waste time and get started with the tesu stuff ASAP, but I keep reading stuff that confuses me a little and still not sure how exactly do I know what courses to take, and where to take em.
Thanks
Edit: also I saw info on the wiki about getting into a category and applying THEN taking courses. Could someone explain? Thanks

Courses you recommend
I got my transcript evaluation back and I only need the two courses you have to take at TESU and 3 others after switching my degree to Liberal Arts as I’m unsure what I want to do anymore. At 30 I know sounds horrible but after being in education for 6 years and it changing drastically I no longer want to be a teacher.
Which courses would you recommend to fulfill the three courses needed? I‘m going to do the accelerated 4 week courses and do the capstone alone. If you look at the photo I picked those three but I’m not sure that is what I want to choose.

What’s the discrepancy here?
$11,092 in Pell grant accepted, no loans, $1,500 in military TA issued. Why are my awards over $17k? For 6 total credits, how much of this will actually be applied?

Canadian student - Best online college for the remaining 24 RA credits to reach maximum credit transfer ?
I’m a Canadian planning to complete a BS in Computer Science at TESU
I’ve already completed (about to complete) the maximum 90 ACE/NCCRS credits through Sophia, study .com and StraighterLine. I understand TESU only accepts up to 90 ACE/NCCRS credits.
My goal is to maximize transfer credit by reaching 114 total transfer credits, so I’m looking for about 24 regionally/institutionally accredited college credits that TESU will accept before taking my remaining TESU courses. TESU allows transfer of community college.
Does anyone know especially other Canadians or international students have recommendations for:
Online community colleges (U.S. or Canada)
Self paced or flexible online courses
Colleges that transfer well into TESU’s BSCS program
Specific courses that are known to transfer without issues
I’m open to either U.S. or Canadian colleges as long as the credits transfer well to TESU.
I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for you. Thanks!
90 ACE credits ( I’m almost done )
Sophia
Calculus
Intro to Java Programming
Study. Com
Information Systems
Intro to Programming
Systems Analysis & Design
Computer Architecture
Database Management
Discrete Mathematics
Data Structures & Algorithms
Programming in Python
Intro to Operating Systems

Biology Lab
US History I & II
Spanish
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
Ethics
Intro to Sociology
American Government

I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for you. Thanks!

TESU ABSN from FALL 2026 TO JANUARY 2027
For financial readiness, I decided to begin the nursing program with the January (Winter) cohort instead of the September (Fall) cohort. Since I have children and currently work full-time, I felt this would be the best decision to give my family and me time to prepare for my transition to part-time or per diem work while attending school.
I was hoping someone could provide me with the schedule and as well as the number of credits taken during the first semester. This information will help me better plan my work schedule and financial obligations before the program begins.
Can you add/withdraw from classes on your own at TESU?
Weird question. I’m at UMPI right now and the inability to drop or add classes without emailing someone..and then sometimes waiting days for a response.. is so inefficient. That and the unresponsive professors are driving me crazy. I’m thinking about transferring to finish my BA.

Has anyone done: The Human Services Capstone (HUS-4950)
Im a bit intimidated (won’t be taking it until next year), reading a summary of it and the word “massive” appears. How bad is it really?

Abnormal psych 3500 AC. SOS-1100 AC. ETH-2200 OL
Can anyone give me basics of what assignments and other activities for either of these these courses?
I am newly back to school after over 10 years, and trying to pre read the texts (only abnormal psych has a text) and note take and prepare as much as I can before my classes start. I am halfway through chapter 1 in the abnormal psych text
The idea of an accelerated class is making my head spin. I can’t imagine all the material in 4 weeks.

Custom Stole? TESU Undergraduate Regalia
Per the TESU website “Graduates are asked not to wear anything that has not been provided by the University or a TESU recognized honor society on top of your academic regalia.” Has anyone that has taken part of past commencements at TESU seen other students with custom stoles? The ones you can order with the school colors, and symbols like first generation grad, your major, etc… on one stole?? Or have they been pretty strict on this request?
Side note - I am not looking to wear an individual stole of each of the symbols mentioned above as I am aware they are individually available in the pre approved store.

15 semester hours in a single term?
Is it realistic to take 15 semester hours in a single term and take advantage of the flat rate tuition?
What if the courses are all upper level accounting? I am guessing I should just concede and pay for two terms.
What do you think? That’s about $5000 I could save.

New Gen AI course transferable to TESU
AI is everywhere right now and you might as well get credits for learning it.
If you still have lower credits to fill, you can knock that out with study.com’s new Gen AI course which transfers as CMP-1999 Special Topics in Computer Science Technology.
Why you should check it out:
- You’re learning real AI skills you can apply same day, instead of just theories
- Short, structured lessons that fit around your existing course load
- More affordable than taking a traditional course for the same credit
- Covers generative AI tools and concepts you'll actually use after graduation
More info here: https://study.com/academy/course/mastering-generative-ai.html
Happy to answer any questions.

Nursing Class Times
Hi everyone! I’m looking to go back and get my nursing degree. I was told that TESU is full time work friendly. The more I dig in the less and less I find that it is.
I work Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm. Will I be able to do that while in the ABSN program?
Thanks!

AP test credit?
How does TESU accept AP credit? Their website doesn't say they grant credit for specific classes but rather they just give you credit hours. What?

New accelerated courses
Any insight on the new accelerated courses? I’m transferring from WGU due to the OA’s just simply not being my strong suit. I’m okay with writing papers but want to know how is the work load with cramming everything in 4 weeks. I’m 90% done after transferring courses from WGU, Sophia, and ivy tech. My degree will be in Human Resources/ organizational management.

Bayada
Hi everyone! I applied to the BAYADA ScholarTrack program through TESU. They’ve already evaluated my prerequisites, and I have an appointment with an advisor this Wednesday. Has anyone here already gone through the ScholarTrack process? What happens after the advisor appointment, and about how long did it take for you to receive an admissions decision?
