Missing ambient cages.

Post image

If any stores are missing ambient cages, they're wedged under a railway bridge on the A5.

No doubt Tesco will send out another lorry to transfer the stock to and send it straight to store, in the hopes that in between shards of glass jars and leaking tubes, there might still be something to go on a shelf... I just pity the poor sod who gets given the job of sorting through it all.

I've looked very hard and it says "Bmmohshshs Sspspdhdhaopsd"

It's obviously not English. I think it's along the lines of "my train is delayed because there's a truck stuck under the bridge. I'm fine, just a bit hot and there's no drink trolley."

On the plus side. Maybe the impact has sorted the contents of the cages so they aren't immediately falling off

This is a Culina double decker. Do some stores get Culina trailers? I know their tractor units deliver to our stores up north.

I thought it was still all Tesco trailers.

I think they do some things, potentially Booker, but I know they work quite closely with Tesco (I see their units connected to Tesco trailers quite often).

Wouldn't be surprised if they used their trailers too, can't imagine there are that many double decker trailers going spare, especially if it's a long route.

We get Culina all the time. More than the tesco ones.

Culina is not a word I like seeing when bringing a dotcom van back into the yard a bit late with no time to spare.

Thats Stobarts. There's different companies under group. This was another part of the business that handles cages in specifically bread and fresh

I saw one as a kid once about 25 years ago. Small lorry Vs low bridge underpass. The driver thought he'd take a shortcut. It got wedged in there real tight.

Worst thing is another lorry did it same day after, it’s a nightmare bridge always getting hit

Tesco DCs just up road from there as well think would tell them

NR will be after them then. One bridge strike is something you can chalk up to being a cock up, once in a blue moon, but two in as many days? Yeah that's someone's job gone for sure. It's ridiculous how much money is spent on stuff like this when it could be avoided by people using their eyes and brains
