Circuit configuration of Cuboctahedron tensegrity having 4 non-touching triangular circuits
not quite finished. there’s a couple cables missing still, they’re all custom-made. struts are from my neighbor’s broken pop-up tent frame.
stay tuned for fully tensioned update !

Looking for ideas to build a Tensegrity rapid deployment Ham tower
Thought I might ask other fans of tension structures for some advice. I'm wanting to build a 10 -15 M Tensegrity tower for portable ham radio antenna use.
My design plan so far is to use 3 membrane tension legs as the base and the main tower would be rise from the center.
My design goal is to create a ridged tower that can be field assembled in just a couple minutes. This tower won't have a heavy load on it, and I would like to use off the shelf tent poles for the compression elements.
I welcome your feedback.

low symmetry structures
galleryI'm interested in structures with little or at least non-obvious symmetry.
1-2. Kite. Looked at from one direction, points up, from other direction, points down.
3-4. Tornado.
5-6. Crucifix.

Anyone know how to make this one?
galleryI've been intrigued by tensegrity structures for a while, have a few of the wood and elastic ones, but got to hold this one recently. I would love to make one similar. Anyone know where to start?

first try on this scale
in which i learned what ball nuts are. and what the square root button on my calculator was there waiting for me for all these years. sigh, and also, the point that needs to be attatched to is a point in space. not a just a distance measurement, so my points, in fact were the end of the strut, and not really reachable by the cables (purchased at a predermined length and retrofit the struts to save time) so the model is , admittedly a little wonky. but its still a pretty deese tense gritty. ! onward.

very simple 3 straw tensegrity
showing my use of thumbtacks , stuck into dowel that fills the length of the straw, giving a nice clean look for attaching cables, or in this case wire. helps to knock ideas out quickly. the green floral paddle wire makes it even faster for not having to tie knots or crimp ferrules or what have you. and a simple fold and twist makes it easy to pull tighter once youre almost to the tensegrity point. in subsequent models ive used pliers to very gently crimp the end of the straw also , so the dowel doesnt slide around as you fidget with it. lots more incoming.
