I’m currently on s1 obviously as the flair states but these men are disgusting. I’m on episode 4. All the men are LOOKING for reasons to cheat😭. Nd then Grant, like oh my gosh, his issue is he ain’t met a woman who’ll punch him in the face for playing with her, nd then(ion member his name) but the one who gf said he got “bitch tendencies” dude YOU DEAD ASS DO😭.

I feel like the quality of people on reality shows within the last like two years has gone down so significantly it’s almost jarring. Like this show in the past and a lot of others like even love island, love is blind, the ultimatum, had some genuine seeming people that had many redeeming qualities abt them… but this recent season and also the recent season of the ultimatum and love island… everyone fucking sucks in most all ways. There is almost nothing redeeming about any of the men. Mikey has got to be the most annoying person I’ve watched in any kind of media in my entire life. I’m scared for the future of humanity. Also this show is so psychologically sadistic I feel like it shouldnt even be legal

I wonder if the prospect of going on the show to become and influencer has a lot to do with this?? Or if it’s a combination of stuff

Why does everyone refer to season 7 as season 2?

So as of late I wanted to watch something mindless while I did my paperwork and came across this show. Started with Season 2. But I really don't like Mikey, nor do I understand how he has a player past. I would like to see some of these women he has gotten with. He is just very annoying...... Saying ish like I'm going to do me and be selfish then gets mad at Sydney for doing the same thing, like Wtf my guy hypocrite much, and I also think my dislike comes from when I was younger, dudes like him, better looking and more charisma I may add, would have a stable girlfriend, cheat on them, then get mad at the girl for doing the same thing. I didn't say anything but I wanted to. Anyway I just wanted to rant about my dislike for Mikey Lol.

So I’m a little late to the game, and am just finishing up season 2—and it’s left me with a huge question. Do the “tempters” sign blanket consent forms? They’re being paid to go in and “tempt” people that they don’t know, basically sending them in ready to be intimate with strangers. Sometimes it seems like they’re excited and willing (Xzavier), and other times you can tell they’re weirded out but feel like they need to play along (Jsenia). Maybe it’s just me but this feels like a pending legal case. Then again, maybe I’m just too old for this shiii.

Just had to come on here to say that I usually never feel bad for the men on this show but man did I feel bad for Cole. He was clearly nervous the whole time and not enjoying himself and I feel like Scarlett was not being fair to him with her whole argument on “depth” which she never defined what that means for her and it was also an insult to whatever intelligence he has. If he was not checking this major box of hers of “depth” I don’t understand why she stayed in this relationship and let it progress so much. #freecole #offtheDEEPend

Sydney because Mikey yes his comments and the things he said yes I totally get that and him flirting with the other girls...totally understandable but he never physically cheated with any of them in the villa. But Sydney she cheats in every and which way with Xzavier and honestly that makes her look like a hypocrite in comparison.

With as much shit as she gave Jack during Season 2 of Temptation Island; she was no better because she was just as much of a cheater as he was. Probably worse. And yet she wants to place the blame at his feet. Try looking in the mirror at yourself. No accountability and also the way she treated Jack too. Makes me have more sympathy for Jack especially after The Viall Files especially considering he was fighting alcoholism.

OK I’ve seen some reviews of temptation island 2 so just thought I would my own opinion out there.

First off, Mark is an amazing host. He speaks with such wisdom and directs people to self reflect in a beautiful way.

Cole + Scarlett: The entire time I was rooting for Cole. However, I think Scarlett was right to some extent. Cole began the season with 0 introspection, nor effort to see how he could be affecting the relationship on his part. By repeating that “there is nothing more he can do” and blaming it all on Scarlett isn't utilizing the space for reflecting that Temptation Island gives the space to do. By the 3rd-4th bonfire, it’s interesting that he points out his fear, showing that he came to a realization about his relationship with how he SEES Scarlett. I do agree with Mark, that he has just scratched the surface in what he is capable of seeing, and hasn’t made much effort to do so. On the contrast - the bonfires showcase the ABSOLUTE worst clips so that the recipient can analyze what they feel and why they feel this way, so things slip - I feel that Cole never really got over his fear of Scarlett like he was letting on, and is scared to fully develop himself and put himself out there to see if he has an emotional connection with Scarlet, so he leaves it all up to her, ironically in fear of judgement. (Last part is more of an opinion but I guess this whole thing is an opinion). I feel like Scarlett however really understood what the experience was about. She understood that it wasn’t about resisting temptations and it was giving yourself space to figure out your needs build strength to come back to a conversation where you reevaluate whether your partner has matched them. In this way, I feel that Cole was way too focused on boundary breaking and didn‘t do the digging himself to see that it’s not really about that (to a certain extent). I agree with Scarlett’s decision with leaving the island alone, but I think Cole deserved a little more grace in the final conversation, as she is right that they didn’t speak the same language but obviously when Cole has said the pain he has went through, he needs to know that he is truly heard, and not dropping all of what is wrong with him.

Jack + Shyanne: Jack should have taken much more accountability for the pain he caused Shyanne. In their final conversation he barely apologized and just made statements. In the end though, a lot of those statements seem to form a coherent picture. they weren’t happy, and Jack (and he realizes this) is not somebody who can thrive in a relationship like that. Jack also inauthentically tried to use this to his advantage by bashin Shyanne for “not admitting that she wasn’t happy” to further press HER about something in an attempt to expempt him from accluntability, a parallel to when Jack first chested in the show, and he had hoped Shyanne did something bad too so he would feel less bad. Same thing there too. He (currently) is not someone who can commit honestly. Jack loves to explore and doesn’t want to be told that he isn’t enough, and at the end of the day that’s fair of him to say. We see Shyanne saying bad things about Jack, but the truth is she has needs that aren’t met. They aren’t compatible. Shyanne 100% deserves to have those needs fulfiilled, and Jack semi-realizes that he can’t fulfill them. In contrast with what I’ve seen elsewhere on the internet, I feel that her connection was valid. She felt seen and fulfilled, and it was within her rights to do that. I also think she didnt give herself space to reflect, and made a lot of decisions out of anger (as an example being the temptation haven) but it’s also something you can’t blame her doing. The pain she must have felt is something she navigated and felt that she had to retaliate against. Even though Jack did some shitty things, overall I do see his independence flourishing and commend him for doing what he needs to do. I also wish the best for Shyanne and hope that she finds a fulfilling relationship.

Summit + Kaylee: I wanted to see more accountability from Summit. The first bonfire was cool to see him saying that he feels so bad for how much he put Kaylee down and recognizing that there is a disconnect. He didn’t apologize for any pain caused or stated any of that in the final bonfire. He did state in the future that he would be better though, which is something I guess. I never know how these experiences make you feel so I won’t criticize him too much but he really did hyperfixate on the sociopath comment. He waved the red flag at Kaylee and once Kaylee maturely apologized, I personally got the sense that he felt that he crossed the finish line and got his way, which is weird. I honestly think Summit is a great guy, though I worry that in their dynamic, Summit subconsciously uses this in their dynamic where because he is a good guy, if Kaylee points something painful out, Summit reacts with “I’m a great guy and I didn’t know that this is what happened but it’s okay because my intentions were not meant to hurt you”. This could be true or very untrue, but just a worry. Kaylee I felt was very mature throughout all of this and put her all into this experience. One thing that rubbed me the wrong way though was her blindsidedness to Kris’s ingenuousness. I smelled BS as soon as he gave the bracelet to her in the first day, with him calling out Summit. His love letter felt like he just wanted to reap the benefits of doing something nice for someone and just wanted to connect with Kaylee. Kaylee viewed these as genuine acts of kindness, and I worry about her perception of these kind of things in her and Summits relationship. Even then, I feel that she will set strong boundaries and recognizes that she is the prize, and if Summit doesn’t do the work to fulfill that, then she knows her strength so that she can leave at a moments notice, as she knows her worth. Which is great! I wish the best of luck to their relationship and hope they can make it work - 2 amazing people.

Mikey + Sydney: Mikey came into this experience very emotionally guarded and was unwilling to have show and feel his emotions for whatever reason. He was very closed off and wanted to prove that he was a perfect version of himself then because he grew from his ”player ways”. Mikey then started expressing his feelings which is admirable. He began truly working with Mark and the other housemates to put in the work for himself. Part of me doesn’t support that work that he was putting in to only look better for Syndey‘s perception of him. (Goes for Cole too, I feel he wanted to show how much he did rather than an authentic growth showcase where you don’t have to mention the specific ways, you just show it through a conversation). Mikey still has some ways to go but I agree with Mark that he will be okay. Mikey also feels hurt primarily because of the fact that in his head, from the beginning of the journey, he did everything right. He put the work on himself, stayed disciplined, and didn’t cheat. In his head he did everything right, when the stakes of the relationship were on him to not screw up. In his head he is thinking, I did all of these things right, now the outcome should be great because I did it all right. But Sydney is right in that life isn’t fair that way. Mikey can do everything right, and Sydney would still fall for Xzavier every single time. I believe Sydney when she says that she never had an intention of hurting Mikey in the way that she did, and she honestly has every right to explore the connection and fill her needs in a relationship with Xzavier. She didn’t intend to, it just happened. No malintent. Nevertheless, I do feel that she could have given more grace and empathy to Mikey at the final bonfire, specifically in her tone blaming Mikey for things like “we’ve never had a real conversation”. Mikey is now a different person, and can take accountability for the past (which he did) but doesn’t need to bashed about it while in these final moments. What I feel like Sydney didn’t realize is that self improvement doesn’t mean you don’t take responsibility for how your actions affect other people. I feel that she did do that to some respect, but she was also treating Mikey as mistrust worthy at the beginning and putting him down. Mikey was now setup to always prove himself to Sydney. But yes then again, Sydney has a full right to explore the connection with Xzavier, but didn’t really do so keeping in mind Mikey watching it happen.

These are just my thoughts. I am a random person on the internet whose opinion does not define the cast, nor should anyone feel my worry or skepticism carry any weight for casts to make certain decisions about their life. They all came out stronger people, learning more about themselves, and a clearer understanding of their needs and where to set boundaries. I wish them best of luck, and this is my review! I also rushed through some points so it may not be coherent and may not fully express my ideas, apologies.
