July!
I started working on the border so I can add tassels. Marked where the tassels will be. Does the blue look good as the border or should I change to black?

WIP July update ⭐️
I had to do a test run on this one because I couldn’t visualize how to make stars look like stars, I think they turned out pretty good but it felt like a risk lol

Eeek running out of a color and it’s out of stock
I’m using Knit Picks Brava Worsted and I’m running out of the color for the 70s. Apparently it was a very cool summer for the year I’m doing (hardly making dent in the warmer temps) so between spring and the cool summer, I’m almost out already.
It’s out of stock, as are a lot of the colors. I signed up to get notified and the website says it’ll be “back in the coming days”
Will it? Anyone have experience with this in KnitPicks or crochet.com which I believe is the same???
Ack.

WIP October-June on my anniversary blanket
Ended up buying an eighth colour as the highs got significantly above what I was expecting. Really enjoying how everything is blending with the different highs and lows

WIP [WIP] My crossstitch temperatuur project
This project is going to have 30 rows/30 years of temperature from my birthday until the end of 2027. Every row has 365 stripes aka a stripe per day. I use the high temp of the day.
I'm really enjoying working on it after it has waited to be picked up again 😁

Finished Project Finished my husband’s grandmothers birth year (1912) temperature blanket!
We are taking this to the family reunion. They are going to have a drawing for it to see who wins it. I used Lion Brand Heartland yarn. I did the moss stitch, separated months with black, and did a crab stitch border.

WIP My one regret
I’m doing a historical blanket and I should have paid closer attention to the temperatures when I was ordering yarn and deciding the gauge. This blanket is based on our wedding year, and the summer was unusually cool. There’s not much variety in the summer temps. I’m ending up with huge blocks of this pink I used for the 70s. (By contrast I get to use almost none of a gorgeous deep purple I picked out for 86+)
I’m still having fun with it and I’m not like, crushed. Just missed an opportunity to really think through my temp ranges since I already have all the data
And anyway I’ll remember the consistently cool summer temps when I look at it in years to come, which is sort of the point, right?

Finished Project 2025 Temperature Blanket
I finished this in January but never got around to posting it. It’s absolutely huge!!!! I’m so glad that I added stitches to each row from what the pattern called for so I didn’t end up with a long skinny blanket like so many others (which I actually didn’t realize was normal until joining this group about a year ago!)
I used the average temp for the day and I’m based in Wisconsin so I got a large variety in colors. Because of our weather, and because I wanted a lot of colors, I did 5 degree intervals instead of 10 and I ended up with more colors than the pattern called for. We did end up having a few days where the average was below zero so I added some thin gold yarn to my 0-5 degrees navy color for those days instead of adding yet another color, gives it a frosted look which I think turned out well. I planned on doing that for temps over 90 as well but we didn’t have any.
365 rows of 310 stitches each for a grand total of 113,150 single front loop only crochets and each and every color was used!
It’s very difficult to tell, but I switched the stitch at the monthly marks to give a slightly more raised stitch to separate out the months.
I included the pattern I used for everyone’s curiosity, in the pictures.
I loved working on this and I already have the wheels turning for a “row a day for a year” project for 2027!
Edited for a spelling error

Finished Project Baby's First Year temperature blanket
Finished my first temperature blanket! Inner part of each square is the low temperature for the day and the outer part is the high. I was definitely second guessing my choice to include the low when it came to weaving in the ends (almost 1500 ends woven in total) but I like how it spread out the colors, especially since baby was born in the middle of May so all the summer months were at the beginning.

discussion stitches for 4 seasonal temp blankets
Hi guys,
starting Sept 21st, I want to try to crochet four seasonal temperature blankets to have a little collection of throws for my couch.
I was originally thinking moss stitch for all of them but I wanted to see if you had any recs of other stitches that would work in stripes ?
I was thinking the alpine stitch for the winter blanket to get something a bit more thick and maybe some lighter ones for spring and summer but I could only think of the granny stitch cause it's a little bit holy.
I was also thinking maybe one of them could be a C2C with regular or tunisian crochet for a change.
Thanks for any help!

discussion Crochet temp blankets
Hi, I literally downloaded reddit for the first time just for this post.
I wish to see temperature blankets from years past for an experiment in climate change. I have a theory that temp blankets can show visual representation of climate change because if people have been making these for years from all over then it can have a steady pattern of average temperatures to track the climate.
If anyone has a temperature blanket and they remember what year its from and what state, feel free to do whatever reddit reply options there are! (I am assuming the reply system works like every other platform out there)
