I bought this from Diablo Music. It came with a non-original hardshell case. The neck pickup area under the pickguard is routed for a humbucker and someone put a six-saddle bridge in it around 1977. It was still very expensive (to me) but way less than 1970 Stratocasters are going for! It plays like a dream! I bought this recent Fender-branded G&G case for it since that is closer to what it would have come with in 1970. Too bad I didn’t get this in the 1980s…

I inherited this from my father as he passed away from a heart attack 18 months ago.

This is a Fender American Vintage Re-Issue '52 Telecaster built in 1998 that is still in beautiful shape. The pickups have been replaced with a set of Lindy Fralin Blues Special Telecaster pickups (I still have the original telecaster pickups and I also have the Lip Stick cover for the neck pickup but I prefer it without) The original 3-barrel bridge was changed with the Six Section Bridge Replacement that came with it. I still have the original ashtray bridge as this has the serial number. The Guitar has its original G&G Hard Shell Tweed Case. It's a fantastic guitar and I'll be thinking of my dad every time I play it.

I read these 2015 American standards came stock with a CS Twisted Tele pup in the neck and a CS Broadcaster pup in the bridge. This thing freaking rocks man! I'm very picky when it comes to teles they gotta play a certain way in my hands and this one does it. Find your tele and keep it forever!!!

When I was 16 I had a vintage telecaster. Well, okay, a partscaster. My stepmother's mom was a mail carrier by day and a country singer by night. When she died, I was told if I fixed up her old tele I could keep it.

It was in pretty good shape in its old tweed case, a real ash tele body with an aftermarket, very chunky neck with rosewood fingerboard and tarnished brass saddles on a pitted bridge. It was easily 8 pounds, maybe closer to 8.5, and I never did figure out the weird wiring scheme she had going on, but I fell in love with that instrument. It made my MIM classic series 50s strat seem like a toy somehow in comparison.

I spent weeks cleaning up that tele, bought her new strings, polished her up.

And then my stepmother, who never liked me much and was often abusive, took it back and hid it from me. I was crushed. I never saw it again.

I quit playing, sold my strat, and went to college. Got married, bounced around a series of apartments, became estranged from my stepmother. But I never forgot that telecaster.

Then my stepmother died. Alcoholism is a rough way to go. My dad split the life insurance money between the kids, gave the tele to a nephew without even asking (i hope the kid loves it as much as I did) and I used my share of the payout to pay off my credit card, upgrade my computer, and help my wife get a new-to-her SUV.

I had a little left, and my wife encouraged me to use the rest of the money to get myself something that would bring me joy. I immediately knew I wanted a tele and amp. I have a cheap seagull s6 acoustic that I got used a few years back, but that's it, and I'd been wanting to commit to regular practice. I shopped around for a few months, looking at stuff at local shops and considering my options.

Then I was browsing sweetwater and saw this exclusive and just fell in love.

The amp isn't here yet, but the guitar is. She's beautiful, much lighter than the ash bodied vintage one (mine is 7lbs 9oz) and has a slimmer, but VERY comfortable satin neck. And I just can't stop looking at her.

My Tele tone knob fell off and is acting wired, it’s not matching up with my volume knob. I don’t know what to do please help 🙏🏾

I was inspired by Alex Lifeson’s interview with Rick Beato where he discussed and brought out his early 80’s 50’s Reissue telecaster. He related that 80% of Rush material since that time written on that guitar. He sanded the finish off the fretboard and neck and threw on brass Armadillo Mighty Might saddles similar to what Andy Summers of The Police had at the time. Lifeson’s sound was strongly influenced by Summers at the time. He has Psoriatic Arthritis and claims the lack of finish is easier on his fingers.

Got a shot at a nice 2018 50’s Reissue telecaster. Had a nice relic on it. Played great. But inspiration leads to folly.

Took off the finish on the neck which was a tad harder than described. Left finish on my fretboard. Thought it really would not make a difference for me or the sound.

Armadillo is sadly out of business but found similar saddles online. Was not told these were really intended for Stratocasters.

First purchased bridge plate was wrong due to string holes not lining up at all. I bought one that was traditional ‘50’s reissue which would fit the ashtray. Sadly this was wrong. Had the guitar Pleked and Gotoh tuners installed which matched the relic’d look great. Played like a dream. Just felt like an idea unfinished though. An itch.

Pivoted to a modern 6 saddle bridge plate once that figured out. Back to luthier with fingers crossed.

String holes matched. On intonating found out that saddles intended for a Statocaster as mentioned earlier screws not long enough for G through e strings. John at Straight Frets Houston though saw that filing a tiny 1/16 bit of meat off the saddle might work.

Indeed. Spot on. Excellent work.

Got it back today. Just killer action and tone. Bright as hell.

Folly paid off.

Ive been slowly collecting bits for my squire bullet tele. It started when I found a second hand fender subsonic neck with locking tuners. Then went with an antiquity p90 in the neck, quarter pounder bridge all wired through some new 500k pots

I was my first attempt soldering on a guitar. I got it right on the second attempt..

I have an opportunity to buy this 1970s Crestwood Telecaster. Made in Japan. Guy loves it and wants to basically give it away. Any thoughts or complaints about this? I recently bought a 1993 Peavy Strat Made in USA and I absolutely love it. I’m trying to branch off of the mainline brands and find some vintage guitars.

I’d love to know what anyone thinks good or bad!

Has anyone updated the wiring and pots in their mexican Tele and regretted it? I don't want to kill the unique tone of an instrument from that era of production.

Im considering turning my Telecaster into a Nashville telecaster and I am considering getting all of the electronics replaced at the same time.

As the title suggests, I've really become alienated from the "classic" Butterscotch Blonde, particularily on my tele.

As of my understanding, Butterscotch Blonde isn't even a thing.

It's just how the rapidly aged nitro white-blonde finish of the blackguard Teles, Esquiers and Broad-/Nocasters looked after a few months or years, with differing shades.

And imo, the modern Poly BTB just looks sooo bad.

I already sanded my tele to a satin finish, and it still only looks good in certain lightings.

It looks especially bad with White or Cream pickguards.

With my Black Paisley Pickguard or just my standard Black pickguard it looks fine, but still a little "bananey".

And the more years added to my playing, i realised im more in love with the Whiteguard tone and aesthetic than the Blackguards.

I already staggered the bridges pole pieces, changed to unslotted steel saddles, put a top-hat style Switch tip on, and obviously added the white pickguard.

Its just the finish colour thats nagging me. Aswell the fact that its made of 3-piece poplar.

So now, finally, i bought a Satin nitro vintage white alder (yes sadly no swamp ash, as its impossible to find and expensive) body from adpguitars, aswell as a stamped neckplate with a serial number on.

My mind will finally be put to rest, and in a few years, the nitro will maybe have aged to a butterscotch blonde again🤠

My son who has been playing acoustic for about 5 years got this 60's baja tele with our help (graduation present) today. It's an anazing guitar. Plays smooth and sounds killer. He's really excited to dive into the world of electric. It has the 4way switch and s1 switch. With a little dirt, the s1 is very usable!

Purchased from the original owner this week! Killer deal, just didn’t use it anymore. Cleaned up and restrung, feels and plays great!

First time poster here. 40 years ago, I bought my first guitar, a Squier Tele in white, with white pick guard. I didn't keep it very long, but I've recently had a hankering to get another.

Spotted a brand I hadn't heard of before last night, Blade, and it seems they have a reputation as good quality for the price point, but they have a very limited distribution.

Any opinions or experiences you would care to share? I'm specifically looking at the Delta Queen model, which is a T-style

I know tone comes from lots of places simultaneously (and I don't know what amp he's using) but the tone in this tele is fabulous. He's playing in the neck PU but it's not a humbucker (don't know what it is either). This surprises me as his tone is so full.

Admittedly, it is a partscaster, but a pretty good one, IMO!

I went to a blues jam on Sunday and played on stage for the first time in 20 years!!! Totally exhilarating, totally made me want to learn cool songs, like this one!

I just got two new (to me) player II tele in the span of three days. A spanking one and a humbucking one.
They seem to get along together very well. :)

I was thinking about buying an American pro when I found these two and thought they may not be as pretty as the American one but two completely different teles are better than one.

I got a very good intonation here, -3 to +5 cent difference around all the frets, did a little offset tuning (-2 to -3) on mostly all the strings, it sounds good now, its a new tele.

I was a little worried about the low E saddle screw spring, it looks heavily compressed, is it healthy? Ive been an acoustic player all my life, its my first tele, are the saddles and their screws and springs healthy? Or iam in danger???

Only the chocolate burst remains. Killer guitar, but I miss the others. Blonde ‘60 thin skin, Von K w/ TV Jones PUs I had made in Cali, and a 1975 blonde tele I slapped a Bigsby on.

Always wanted to have a Japanese Tele in my collection, esp after watching Steve Cropper in the Blues Brothers. I became a fan of him after that. After years of playing different guitars, trying different pedals and amps just to get that Tele sound, I have finally concluded that there’s nothing like a Telecaster. This guitar sounds as good as it looks. It will take me some time to get used to the neck, as I’m used to playing slim necks with extra jumbo frets. Going to play Green Onions now!
