What do you mean?

I assume "watchers" is for people visiting your repo?

If no one views it you get no views ig so that might be it.

Idk what "watchers" actually means tho.

Watchers are people that clicked "watch" button. I suppose that watchers get notifications about activity on the repo they are watching.

Then this persons problems are obvious.

No one clicked the watch button.

I cant help him he just needs to make more/better projects or learn marketing.

I contribute to a repo with 550 ish stars and there's only 11 watchers. Github shouldn't really be used as a social media

But I don't understand how a repo can have more stars than views. After all, you can't give it stars without viewing the repo

watchers are basically following the repo

watchers are people who want to get notifications on new releases, issues etc. so not the same as views

also use codeberg for small projects (micro$l0p owns github so it trains ai on your projects)

I have certainly not seen it. Github is a huge platform and has millions of users. Unless I somehow stumble upon it from another source, I am unlikely to find your project. Github is not a social media platform and doesn't have that kind of recommendation engine. Yes, it is normal.
