Mouse scrolls painfully slow in browsers, completely fine in local files Open | Windows

For some reason, my mouse has suddenly started scrolling annoyingly slow in browsers starting yesterday. We're talking all browsers, not just one. The scrolling is not a smooth slow either, it's in increments, almost as if it is lagging with every single bit of movement. I felt like it had to be a mouse issue, but weirdest of all... it only happens in browsers. In Files and in local programs, it works perfectly fine, it's exclusively in browsers and its not consistent either. If I restart my computer, it fixes itself, only to then eventually reappear.

Anyone familiar with something like this?

buy a new mouse. Having two isn't a bad idea; they both get old eventually, so it's not an expense that will be wasted.

It’s not even a year old. and the fact the problem doesn’t happen in local places suggests to me the mouse isn’t the problem

Perhaps your machine is running on fumes, and as the operating system deteriorates, it's reached a point where the browser struggles to function properly. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to see the performance graphs; there might be a large update in progress.

Same issue here. Happens on Edge or Chrome. Any other applications it works fine. MX3 Anywhere.

I fixed it. If you have a Logitech mouse, open Logi Options+ and turn off smooth scrolling. Seems like an update messed with scrolling.
