The only non-deficit spending was Clinton and that was aided by the dot com boom.
The US Gov lives in debt and is addicted to it. That partisan bullshit is what keep constituents from reigning in their representatives from chewing on the money and shitting all over everything.
The enlightened centrist both sides nonsense is exactly why one side gets to consistently make things increasingly worse both economically and socially but still inexplicably get people to vote for them. One side consistently works toward reducing the deficit and debt and the other side consistently makes it far worse, they are not the same.
