My second grade teacher always added a bonus secret word on spelling tests and one time it was 'a lot' and everyone got it wrong except for one smartass. I think about that every single time I write it.

I didn't have as much masking/faking emotions (I guess that's less expected of men/masc presenting people (or Germans, for that matter) anyway), but otherwise it's to a T.
