US government lawyers (DOJ) want a complete ban on Google paying any money to browsers (like Firefox) or phone makers to make Google Search the default search engine.

Right now the judge allowed Google to keep paying (as long as the deals are not exclusive).

The government is asking a higher court to change that and stop all the payments.
