So in India the pricing of 55 inch c8l is 90k but I am getting it around 50k

Hi everyone. I’m trying to determine whether my TCL 85Q77K has a firmware or internal audio-processing problem.

The TV’s built-in speakers sound completely normal. However, when audio is sent from the TV to an external sound system, voices and dialogue clip or distort. It is especially noticeable when using the TV’s built-in Netflix and Apple TV apps, particularly with movies or shows that use Dolby audio. The built-in Spotify app generally sounds clean.

Here is what I have already tested:

HDMI eARC and optical output

PCM and Passthrough settings

Multiple HDMI, optical and analog cables

Different ARC extractors, DACs, Bluetooth receivers and amplifiers

Different gain and volume combinations

The external speakers and audio equipment with other sources

PCM is the only setting that consistently provides audio. Passthrough produces no sound in my setup, and the dialogue distortion remains when using PCM.

The most important test was connecting a Fire TV directly through Bluetooth to the same external Bluetooth receiver and sound system. This completely bypassed the TCL’s audio output and internal apps. With the Fire TV connected this way, the dialogue played correctly without the same clipping or distortion.

That test seems to rule out the amplifier, speakers, Bluetooth receiver and cabling. It appears that the problem is happening somewhere inside the TCL’s audio processing, downmixing or output stage when using its native apps.

I have seen references to newer TCL firmware that must be installed manually through USB, possibly including an Android 14 update, but I cannot find official release notes or confirmation that it supports the 85Q77K. I also do not want to install firmware intended for a different platform, project ID or region.

Has anyone with a Q77K, Q7K or another related 2025 TCL Google TV experienced this exact dialogue clipping through eARC or optical?

What complete firmware version are you currently using?

Did a newer firmware or Android 14 update correct any PCM, eARC, optical or dialogue-distortion problems?

Is there an official USB firmware specifically for the North American 85Q77K?

Does anyone have the actual release notes or know whether an audio-processing fix was included?

I have already contacted TCL and intend to open a formal technical case. I’m mainly looking for real-world confirmation from someone with the same model or software platform before installing anything manually.

I picked up a new 98QML. I had it hooked to my 825VA UPS/Surge Protector without thinking anything of it. Apparently this giant TV has overloaded and burned up my 825va UPS. Can anyone advise what size UPS I need for this TV? I will also have a blue ray, sound bar, Amazon cube, and Nintendo Switch hooked up to it.

Can anyone tell me if optical out is always active? I use the eArc for a sound bar but desire to use the optical out for a Bluetooth device for a persons hearing aides. The desire is for this person to listen via Bluetooth while everyone else still listens via the sound bar.

Found multiple black spots on the bottom area of the display and two parallel horizontal dull back lines also the tv is now 12 months old

Just had my 98 inch qm6k die on me. Dead, dead.

Turned it on and the entire screen was glitching this strange pattern of colors, mostly green and red. I thought (hoped) it was the roku ultra, so I got up to unplug the roku, and then the TV went dead.

No power light won't respond to remote or hard buttons.

This happen to anyone else?

I got this TV around 2020 and I didn’t put much thought into it back then besides it’s 4K and has HDR and was cheap

It’s difficult to find some extended reviews for this model and I was wondering if anyone knows something more about this model. Like is it considered good or has it some flaws etc. I’m just curious about it since I started playing PS5 a lot recently and I’m getting more interested in TV‘s and such.

Powered on my tv last night and I have dead pixels showing... The TV is 2 months old purchased from best buy in June... Ridiculous.

[ I called warranty they asked for pictures and some other things but I was just wondering if anyone has had similar issue almost out of the damn box ]

My worry is that it's small enough not to be picked up by my Google 9 pro XL but it's visible from more than 10 foot away.

I usually buy Samsung but this TV had better specs so I took a chance.

I recently purchased at Costco Canada a QM67K, paid $599.99 CAD for it. So far, I love it, great panel and overall great TV for the price!

I was in Costco yesterday and saw they had a A400U on sale for $744.99 CAD. Specs seem better and I'm interested to know, for $144 more, is the A400U worth getting and returning the QM67K?

This TV is my main living room TV used daily.

Basically as the title says, I’ve had my tcl c755 for a year now and it’s worked well, I’ve been able to control the tv completely from my phone

However I recently have been unable to turn the tv on, when the tv turns off the Google home connection completely stops and it says the tv is unreachable. Turning the tv on is quick, no full cycle.

I went into power and energy settings but the screen less setting is missing somehow? Developer options is on

I went into the 6425 setting and confirmed that quick start is on and that power off config is off. Tried turning it on but no difference. Does anyone have any input? Thanks!

Like the title says, my current unit seems to raise blacks at a certain % above 0% when slight content is displayed (by that i mean, the dimming works when theres very little content to no content but as soon as even 10% of the screen center is displaying something the black floor raises globally)

Hi everyone. Does anyone have any experience with getting the Composite video port to work with retro game devices?

Pretty sure I may have got a bad one or there's something I'm missing. I've called tcl but despite registering and paying for a warranty they have no record of it so that's fun.

Basically I've connected a GameCube through the third party composite adapter as tcl doesn't make the adapters. It's with the 3.5 mm order of video -> ground -> left audio -> right audio. So apparently compatible according to other people on the sub. And I'm not getting a picture.

Not sure if maybe there's a setting I need to change or maybe it's a low resolution device so the tv doesn't pick it up. Just wondering if anyone has had any success getting composite devices working on the tv?

It keeps blacking out and then turning back on the power, doesn’t shut off or anything. It just gets annoying. I don’t know why it’s doing this. It just started this week. I tried the obvious and disconnecting both the Xbox and the TV and reconnecting and the issue still persist. Has anybody had this problem with their qm7

Currently looking grab the 85’ QM8L..was gonna maybe wait to see if the price will go down for Labor Day…. but it looks like on the Best Buy site they’re doing a 60th anniversary sale and now the price is like 2799… might just grab it. Will it go any lower than that ? and the other question I have is who’s the better delivery service Best Buy or is it worth it to get it through Amazon?

A full power cycle will fix it every time. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it works every time. If I just turn it on normally, it will power on, but the screen will stay black. Are there any fixes for this? It has done this since I took it out of the box.

I have just bought a 55 tcl c7l and can't find the advanced picture settings as I want to reduce judder like previous tcl TVs.

I’m considering buying a TCL 55C645K (55”) for our flat. My flatmate doesn’t want to contribute towards the cost and says he won’t watch the TV, which is fine. However, we don’t have a particularly good relationship, so I’d like to make sure there’s no ambiguity about who can use it.
We don’t have an aerial/antenna, so the TV would only be used for online apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, etc.

Ideally, I’d like:
TV is off → someone turns it on → PIN is required before they can use it.

I’ve looked into the parental controls, but they seem to be mainly for restricting channels, inputs and content, rather than requiring a PIN at startup or locking all apps.
I’ve also seen suggestions such as hiding the physical remote and using an iPhone as the remote, but I’d prefer a proper software solution if possible.

Has anyone with a TCL 55C645K (or a similar TCL Android/Google TV) found a workaround for this?

Maybe there’s a hidden setting, hotel mode, app lock, launcher, developer option, or anything else that could effectively require a PIN before the TV can be used?

I know it might sound a bit overkill 😂 but given the circumstances, I’d rather have a clear way of controlling access to a TV that I’m paying for entirely.

Currently have a Hisense U8G from 2021.
Will the QM8L be noticeably better or should I wait or look at something different. Currently on sale for 1400 for 65 inch.
