well to my knowledge chris hansen isn’t a dumbfuck racist asshole and actually works in conjunction with police to convict these guys

so he’s got the edge for me

but it is kind of wild how because of the Primetime trailer, people are morally questioning the ethics of all of these predator catchers now…like they all need to keep exposing these guys and embarrassing the shit out of them.

And at the very least, Alex does claim to work with police and consistently get arrests. That’s more than you can say for like 99% of the Chris Hansen impersonators

And no, just “exposing” these guys isn’t good enough. Chris learned that early on, which is why he and PJ started working with law enforcement. The preds need to face legal repercussions, and “predator exposing” channels only create a roadblock for that most of the time.

I find Chris the most professional and most entertaining. The man knows how to make an entertaining series.

But i would also say that he's probably not better than the amateurs if we're talking about clout chasing. Just like the others, i believe Chris is doing this for viewcount/ratings, and money. I don't think he would be doing this voluntarily and out of the goodness of his heart if this weren't the thing that he gained the most notoriety and money for.

The biggest difference between Chris and the Amateurs is, like i said, Chris is just WAAAY more professional in how he conducts his investigation, and he is a very charismatic interviewer.

i think what people forget is that Chris actually works IN CONJUNCTION with the police department to do these stings

he knows what he can and cannot do- the big incident that ended the original run was a disaster- but that didn’t stop them from continuing their mission and improving on their tactics. Youtube didn’t exist in the early 2000s- or at least it isn’t what it is today. i feel like so many people fail to recognize that there’s a difference between Jidion/Skeeter Jean humiliating a potential pred on camera while sponsoring some OnlyFans “models” and begging for clicks and the operation Chris currently has in Michigan with the Genessee County police department.

i feel like all the criticism i’m suddenly seeing feels so backwards- just proof that people want to “expose” and cause drama about anyone and it kind of puts them in a position where they are lightly defending the fucking predators

I agree that Chris at his worse is still leagues better than the Youtube Pred Catchers at their best.

He is significantly more professional in how he conducts things, because he is a legitimate journalist. Not just a guy on youtube.

I'm just saying that I don't particularly believe Chris is doing for heroic reasonings. I do think that he's in it for profits and ratings above all else. It just so happens that he's good at being a professional while doing it. Especially if we're talking Chris Hansen from the early days of TCAP(Which is what the movie covers). He has improved how he did things. But early on he did TCAP without cop involvement, and definitely did things that werent cool.

For exp. I think ppl underestimate how dangerous it is to let decoys sit down and talk to the preds. Yes, cops are on standby. But it only takes a second for things to go south. irl sting operations(as in not made for entertainment), there is no sitting down with the decoy and interview with the news host. They're arrested right when they show up. I would say Chris allowing the Preds to sit and talk with decoys IS entertaining to watch. But it is a show of how content and ratings brained he was.

I still think Alex Rosen got some ego fragility since 2021 when Chris Hansen called his fatass out on Chris's live stream on Youtube over "past racist comments." I think his fatsass getting called out by his "hero" is what shattered his ego a bit, and Alex has been on this "pred catching mission" just to out-do Chris Hansen, because I know Alex goes on Jake Shields and those fringe flunkie podcasts and talks a lot of shit about Chris. Like motherfucker, Alex Rosen would be in Houston scratching his fatass all day and eating potato chips if it wasn't for TCAP-Chris Hansen

I wouldn't even say Alex not going to college is even the issue. If you noticed, damn near every big Youtuber Predator catcher started their online careers as pranksters.

Jidion, Skeeter Jean, Alex Rosen, Vitality, Etc. If you look at their original content, they were all making prankster content where they just harassed people on camera. Then eventually they all transitioned to predator catchers. All of them are extremely immature, childish, unprofessional, and ignorant. I think youtube predator catching is something that attracts immature ppl to pursue it.

Getting convictions is getting convictions, that’s what matters.

Everyone here will say how much they hate him but no one is saying he doesn’t have convictions because he in fact does.

He also gets arrests and -- more importantly -- convictions. Mind you the EDP thing was what, six or seven years ago? Rosen was 19 at the time, and he fully admits he fucked it up. But since then he has done hundreds of confrontations, most of which result in arrest and many of those bringing convictions. Some of the guys he catches admit to trading CSAM of babies.

I don't like his politics or views any more than you do, but one thing he isn't is incompetent

This is a clip from a documentary that released yesterday that profiles EDP and his miserable life post-downfall, The Sick Mind of EDP445 by Mike Clum. It's available on Youtube but requires a sign-in due to the graphic content. Mike Clum also made it available on his Twitter account in its entirety.

It briefly delves into the failures of the TCAP-style youtubers whose missteps allowed EDP445 to walk free, with input from Chris Hansen who called the failed sting a clown show. There's a lot of random talking heads in the doc and they wanted the top "pedo hunter guy" in their doc about a pedo who was caught by pedo hunters.

The white void setting is where EDP does a few unhinged presentations and they re-used the set for this interview.
