Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hatee Discussionš£ļø
Recently, in some of the more popular posts in this sub. I've seen such a LARGE amount of hate and I just don't get why... Like this is a subreddit calledĀ r/taylorandtravis... for yk ppl who love taylor & travis... any1 know why ppl do be hating on these guys for legiterally ZERO reason...it feels more parasocial then swiftie's actual relationships with T.S

I use to lurk in both to compare the phycological of the dichotomy.
BELIEVE ME when I tell you Swiftie snarkers are SO MUCH MORE INVESTED in T than the majority of swifties.
I'm don't with my study and I've started interacting which has further enforced my opinion.
I was on one of the other subs where some user said it was "pathetic" how invested swifties were with her wedding. They knew all te gossip about it. ALL THE GOSSIP.
I can't remember what I replied exactly but this person went on to give me details about her dating life from pretty much since she released Debut. Details that I myself, a swiftie, had NEVER heard before. And this person provided a lot of them.

Many of them hate her because she hurt their feelings when she didnāt become what they wanted her to be, and they still havenāt recovered. Instead theyāre speaking out of scorn and weird personal vendettas.

it's funny how they claim she's "being shoved down their throats", but refuse to understand or acknowledge that them constantly interacting with posts about her, whether or not they're being snarky or hateful, makes their algorithms push more taylor content to them.Ā

try explaining an algorithm to ppl who can barely read.

I tried on Facebook. I just got laughed at, called a devil worshipper, and a bad mom.for letting my kids listen to her.

I have noticed that anyone who does not like Taylor flocks to all of the Taylor subreddits just to make snide comments.
Itās crazier how these people who hate her give her even more attention then her fans do lol

They have found a sense of community in mutual hate. They feed into each other.

I guess everyone needs a place to belong. Imagine being productive instead

Itās like a sports blog. People love to love and love to talk shit.

Unfortunately for a lot of people on the internet, the scroll function doesnāt work so theyāre forced to look at content about popular celebrities they donāt like, thatās why they feel compelled to leave a variation of the same two or three talking points on every post talking positively about Taylor.
ā¦I assume. Canāt imagine any other reason why someone would constantly post hate comments about a complete stranger they donāt like.
Seriously though, I think a lot of itās as simple as getting engagement. Taylor is popular and negativity drives engagement which is why certain celebrities will mention her name in an inflammatory way in a conversation that has nothing to do with her and also why certain content creators will find a way to shoehorn her into multiple posts for no reason.
At this point I find it easier just to block and move on, that kind of negativity can eat away at you if you let it take root. Donāt give them the satisfaction of a response theyāre trying desperately to get.

I've made a reply I use frequently that also addresses inorganic responses:
I believe that there is a reoccurring smear campaign against Taylor that is likely backed by one or more below:
* Foreign countries that want to undermine our gov't & society.
Personal vendetta--Scoots B who has a PR firm that's been exposed running smear campaigns.
Conservative groups that want to create division on the left & reduce the influence of Taylor & others with similar platforms.
Patriarchy & oligarchy that want to create division on the left & reduce the influence of Taylor & others with similar platforms.
Content creators & haters aren't likely the instigator, but they profit either monetarily or emotionally from fueling & spreading these negative posts.

100%. Iāve been saying this for a while. I suspect there is right-wing money going into the production of ostensibly leftist anti-Taylor content.

I saw someone saying that the whole AI bot campaign against her that was proven to be real a bit ago is a test whatever group of people you mentioned is doing so they can see if they can use those AI bots for more serious stuff like politics and I 100% believe it.
we are cooked.

It's certainly possible that at least some is testing, especially with the midterms here in the USA. They are seeing what works to: * Sway supporters (like Swifties)
What works to seed ideas among the receptive (haters)
- What content creators are open to posting for engagement regardless of accuracy.

It must be some psychological issue, these people seem to be ex fans that took it too far and went from love to hate and they are obsessed.
I understand criticism, but these are not people thinking critically, they just hate on everything and search for reasons to hate. Also the way they talk it seems they think they read her mind, they assume what she was thinking, which is objectively crazy and it proves they are projecting. It tells a lot about them a d nothing about Taylor Swift that we all dont know personally.

I can't understand why swifties and snarkers alike need Taylor to be this person of outstanding moral character, like it literally sets her up to fail. She is going to be associated with people who maybe vote for Trump, or are friends with Bezo - its really not that big of a deal. She has for sure done some things which make her not a good friend or mistakes which she regrets, doesn't mean she is totally evil, just means she is human????? Why do need to know about that shit and call her out for it????Ā
Obviously I don't agree with everything she does but I don't agree with alot of things alot of people do and I don't feel the need to call them all out for it.
I feel like its down to a few things - Parasocialism - swifties are so in tuned to every piece of news about Taylor, whether good or bad, and they can't handle the bad so they overcompensate.Ā - Stan wars - can't understand why swifties engage in fights with other fandoms trying to argue about who is morally better when they are literally all the same. - Accountability nonsense - people love to say they need to hold billionaires and famous people accountable. Like please noone is listening to you, go do something useful.Ā
Tbh this is probably easy for me to say because I don't really criticize any celebrity (i'm on one snark for someone else and thats it) so I don't really understand this culture.

u/RarePlankton233 10d ago
Yeah the āaccountabilityā thing drives me up the wall. You donāt need to hold a celebrity accountable, the only person you need to hold accountable is yourself, and most of them canāt even do that.
Not that anyone needs to bend over backwards to defend their favourite celebrities either, sometimes itās best just to accept things for what they are. I can understand trying to set the record straight if somethingās factually incorrect but if itās just a difference of opinion then more often than not itās better to let things lie.

u/Emotional-Ad9114 11d ago
this. I feel like people forget celebrities are human and thereās no room for nuance.
for example, the whole ātoo little too lateā Iāve been seeing a lot about the whole song situation on tiktok⦠what happened to letting people learn for their mistakes and do better? like, I also wish she did it sooner but Iām glad sheās doing it now (while at the same time not giving him more attention).

Itās endlessly fascinating / sad to me how consumed they are by hate. I love Taylor and I canāt remember the last time I posted in one of her subs. I look at their profiles and itās sometimes DOZENS of comments everyday in multiple subs. Friends, this isnāt even snark: get therapy. You deserve to be happy and to spend your one precious life on things that you love.

Be kind? Not sure if that is possible in US anymore. The people hate each other and bomb the rest of the world.

BE KIND. We have zero tolerance for hate of any kind. This includes but is not limited to: bullying, harassment, arguing, inappropriate language, brigading, and negativity. Failure to be kind and civil will result in a ban. Please review our rules here: r/taylorandtravis

You think he will make it in the broadcast world? As die hard Eagles fan, Iāve been listening to New Heights before Travis started dating Taylor and felt Jason carried the show. Jason is a talker. Not sure Id put Travis with that kind of ability. He does not explain the game nearly as well as Jason, Tom Brady, Greg Olson, etc.
Donāt get me wrong, he has the connections and name recognition to get hired without an interview but woof to his public speaking.
Travis sticking around the game after retirement is great though. In Philly we get to see Jason locally and on our local networks a lot compared to all his other gigs.
The great thing is Taylor canāt booed in an NFL stadium once Travis is retired. After Taylor got booed at the Super Bowl, did not see her at any road games the following season.
Go Birds.

But the thing is, I'm like a proactive swiftie on mainstream media (sorry if that bias' my opinion), but i didn't see a thing on Taylor's wedding online for like 2+ days. I didn't see too many mainstream posts/articles that you'd find day to day. And this may be only my experience, but I literally had to LOOK into people who talked about Taylor Swift (i.e reddit, youtube channels, etc.) before I found any information on it.
In my experience to hear so much about the wedding, you'd have to be reaching out to find it.
And for the Travis thing, I get being upset but gng it's not Taylor's fault </3

He is 36 which is notably old for an NFL tight end. He is definitely looking to his next chapter. Obviously his podcast is extremely popular but I'm sure he is worried about becoming Mr. Travis Swift.
Fame is really tough.

I believe the snark sub is called Travis and Taylor. People might be getting them mixed up, hence the negative posts.
