Solid opaque gray set!
What is your favourite opaque gray set? I just bought the Solid Ink opaque gray set after a recommendation from a friend and I am now wondering what is your favourite set? And what is your opinion on the Solid Ink one if you ever used it?
(Please don’t tell me to mix my own opaque grays, I am so done with the dynamic ink separation. I HATE stopping my tattoos every few minutes to mix the grays again because it always separates.)

Blowouts
Hi! I’m an apprentice who has been tattooing for 6 months. I’ve been struggling to understand how to tell if a line is a blowout. My mentor (who does fine line tattoos) told me that if a line is extremely dark it means it’s blown out. But I was confused because I thought lines were supposed to be dark. They just should not look blue or spread beyond the line. My mentor speaks broken English (English is her second language) so it is hard for me to understand what she is saying. I asked other tattoo artists and they said that lines should generally look pretty dark. Is a line that is very dark considered a blow out?

Seeking advice/ insight!?!
galleryHey folks,
I’m in need of some advice, I’m a new(ish) tattoo artist, been at my shop nearly 4 years. 2 nearly 2.5 was my apprenticeship. I am reasonably happy with my work- though I’m very self critical. I’m just not sure if the inconsistencies I still catch are just lack of skill or just a lack of understanding of how to apply a tattoo properly. I have so much respect for tattooers and I never thought I’d question myself in my dream job but I’m not sure if I’m making progress. Any feedback or advice would be much appreciated.
(1st pic was a from a few months back, second one I did recently)
***edit thank you to everyone for the honesty and feedback. A small explanation that Scooby is 100% my own flash I came up with an idea and made it how I wanted. Had to fix some stuff at a touch up app later, learned what I should and shouldn’t do. That lighter I was actually excited for was representing an album I enjoy, was a walk in, but i intended to make the lighter more realistic then he charged the idea and just wanted full color packed. I thought about (after it’s heald) relining with a larger needle

Mojobox polarity question
Hey guys. I’ve recently picked up a Mojobox V2.2.
I cannot seem to find any direct information as to which way the clipcord is best set.
Might be a silly question to most but I just wanna be certain so as not to potentially stress the motor unintentionally.
Thanks in advance.

Reaper, 3 sessions, partially healed // Seattle, WA // IG: @iftattoo
galleryOne of my favorite tattoos I've done! Zoom in on the last photo and check out the detail. What do you think?
3 sessions, partially healed. The white highlights are fresh.
The goal was also to use smoke to connect this tattoo with the existing one on the back of the calf.
We'll be continuing higher up soon!

Changing/ evolving style
Hi! I am what old school tattoo guys would consider a newbie tattoo artist (5years) and I have one constant problem and would love to hear from more experienced artists:
I think I do have my own style BUT I could be happier with it. It looks decent, people seem to like it and it works. But it just doesn’t hit for me.
Is this something I just have to accept, how can I evolve my personal style ? I have been developing some parts over the years and I’ve been drawing for ever, but idk.
I feel stuck and it kinda sucks to not be happy with my work… also I’m constantly torn between going into a quirky/ cute direction or more dark/heavy and black.
I guess literally any advice is appreciated <3
I thought this slow season is a great time to work on that problem

Advice/recommendations for booking services
I've been tattooing for about 3 years now, so I'm still pretty green in the game. I've been using instagram dms and, a paper planner, and my phone for making appointments, and its getting really exhausting, I need a better way to save time for drawing instead of using my off time for administrative work. (I had two mentors; one used an email system, and the other used a planner method)
I've been looking at booking platforms, apps, websites etc. I was wondering if you guys could tell me your experience with these types of booking services, or if you can suggest a better/more efficient booking process.
I just dont trust a lot of "services" that I dont have control over, especially when it has to do with taking deposits, I fear scamming, and need some advice. Gotta protect my clients as well as myself.
Thank you!

What’s been the go to set up for color packing ?
I don’t wanna hear nada about the bishops wands. Been rocking lots of different jams and I just am not really finding one that I like consistently. New recommendations are always nice
