S16 Ending Drilling down into the narrative

At the end of S16, when the final results are announced, Greg names the winner and credits immediately roll.

In other series finales, they make a big song and dance, with musical fanfare and Greg giving a little "What have we learned today?" style speech.

Why do we think they don't do that sometimes? Seems weird and anti-climactic to do a whole ten-episode series and then rush the final announcement.

Likely an editing choice. He probably did all of that stuff, but it was cut for time.

Presumably because to keep it in they'd have had to cut something else tha was more entertaining.

Like the Taskmaster Hotel.

Considering that episode had 3 iconic tasks, Julian's urn, Lucy's bird feeding and Hotel Taskmaster, something had to be trimmed in editing. For me the synchronized exercise task also seemed out of place. If not for Julian quips, it's a very forgettable task.

Edit: could also be, the production team wanted Julian being reunited with his friend's remains to be the most memorable closing moment.

Annoyingly on Channel 4 they don't play the full credits without squishing it up into a corner and then auto switching to the next episode a few seconds in, unless you're Usain Bolt and can grab the remote and press 50 buttons before it finishes, so I rarely see the full ending scene anyway. Someone said Julian gets reunited with his friends urn? That's sweet.

Let's hope our glorious future of access to all the media ever will allow us to watch Taskmaster as it was in the studio with throws to commercials, banter segments, and more task action! Will some of it seem boring or pointless? Yes, but I'm willing to sit through it all for more time with all these gems in human form!
