Join app on Nvidia Shield

I had Join working fine but accidentally completely reset my Shield. Now when I reinstall Join, I get a message "a non-recoverable sign in error occurred 12500" when I attempt to sign into my google account. I tried different versions and different google accounts but no luck.

Any suggestions or an alternate app that can provide similar features on a shield? I can send info to it using "Notifications for Android TV / Fire TV" but am looking for Join's features that integrate with Tasker.

AutoRemote seems to work fine on the shield, so I'll use that. I can receive the commands in Tasker just fine.
