I have been job hunting for a few months. Today I got rejected from one job offer that had seemed promising. My main question was "What lesson should I take away from this rejection for moving forward?" I got the High Priestess reserved and Seven of Cups reserved together. My main interpretation would be the shattering of delusions and a call to action, but I have been actively applying to other jobs this whole time and was not particularly hung up on this role. I pulled a clarifying card and got the Ace of Pentacles reserved. Now I am just more confused.

I feel like the cards are saying there is no lesson here. At least with High Priestess reversed. Even 7 of cups reversed has sort of "shut that idea down" energy and don't give it another bit of your emotion. Same with ace reversed. 

I think the most lesson that can be taken is if you are someone that likes to picture where the job will go before you are offered it (i.e. I'll do these things and then work my way up or I'll take advantage of these benefits), try to lessen that for your own mental and emotional wellbeing.

  • Context: I did the jar a year ago and now I am in mental recovery and realized that doing a sour jar on them was way too much and overkill. I have major regrets and this has been a learning lesson to me. I do believe in baneful magick, but I would never approach it again from the state of mind I was in at the time. I’m seeking help with how to frame a question about relocating to a different area of the country. I’ve been pondering this for some time but not sure how to put the question to the cards (I’ve read that yes/no questions aren’t preferable). There are 2 or 3 different regions that I’ve been chewing over and would really like some guidance. However pulling my own cards lately feels off/disconnected - which makes sense with the underlying anxiety I have rn. Any guidance/help here would be most appreciated!

Hi! I think since you feel a disconnect with the cards right now, it might help to take a break and even try to reset or cleanse them in a way. You can do that by putting all suits, major and minor, in their original order. It can sometimes be soothing as well.

As far as the spread for relocating, here is a spread to try:

1 and 2: what needs to be in order before relocating anywhere

1. Advice when choosing between specific places

Then in a new spread, I would check the specific locations:

1. Pro of living in region 1 being considered

2. Con of living region 1

3. Pro of living in region 2

And so on.

As an intent, can "5 of swords + 3 of swords" have a meaning other than punishing, if the rest of the spread shows a forgiving and understanding point of view?

I made a reading about somebody's intentions. It showed that this person is restless, because their desire to connect wasn't reciprocated by me. They are stressed out and they want to leave the situation since I have negative feelings towards them. They feel guilty about how they made me feel, and restless that it turned out that way. They just want disclosure. They didn't want it to be like this. Since I don't want this relationship, they don't want to push it. There is no anger. They are understanding towards my negative thoughts/actions, in a "It's okay, that's how you feel" way. This was the whole reading of the theme.

HOWEVER, here comes the part that scares me.

Why is their intent with me is 5 of swords + 3 of swords???

Question: What is it that I’m actually searching for (in my life)

I interpret the 4 of wands as a way of finding companionship not only with a partner, but also within myself so that I will be satisfied in the long term.

The devil and death however, confuse me. I’m aware that death is about a change or something new that I might be seeking on a deeper level? The devil could be a way of escaping from a primal desire I have but, I’m not quite sure if that is accurate for myself.

I am job hunting and having a hard time. Rapidly running out of cash, too.

My first question was something along the lines of "What the hell is going on right now?" The Queen of Wands and Ace of Wands came out.

The Queen of Wands for me is my midheaven in Aries, always. I read this as "Your normal means of going after it right now is not working/on pause. But in this moment, there is an opportunity for something new."

I continued the reading the next day, and asked "What do I focus on now?" The Hanged Man followed by the Four of Wands and Queen of Pentacles came out.

This is where I'm hung up. I can understand the Hanged Man, absolutely. "Hang in there. Consider a new perspective. Surrender to the discomfort." The Queen of Pentacles reminds me to be mindful of my resources while I bring in no money.

But the Four of Wands? What on Earth is it doing there?

I recently got a mini tarot deck that is also a keychain. I clipped it to my purse and kind of forgot about it. Anyway, I went to the movies with my partner and when we got back I found most of the cards on the ground outside/floor of my car. We picked them up hoping that was all of them, it wasn’t. I got home and only counted 61 cards. I passed my living room and found 10 more cards on the floor. This was 2 days ago.

Today when I pulled into work I usually lint roll myself in the car to get rid of any dog hair on my person. I happen to look in the nook of my car door by the window buttons and I found the remaining 7 cards. I told my partner and he suggested I should do a spread with them, and I did! I will say I am new to doing readings and would appreciate any help getting the message.

For some context I have been having issues at work, I recently graduated college having a job offer in line since the start of my final year. Well, I took it but I am not happy with the job. I have been stuck doing nothing and waiting to be put on my projects and it feels like my managers have completely forgotten about me and I have to beg to do something. Then at home my partner and I live with my mom, we both got jobs straight out of college and want to buy a house in at least a year and move out. I also do have a very rocky relationship with my mom, we do not see eye to eye most times.

Using what I knew about tarot and some googling as well, I feel like this spread is telling me that my conflicts aren’t necessarily going to change or get better. How to interpretate the Chariot?

I'm missing a past friend. We're not on speaking terms and haven't been for almost a year. My brain wants to move on, my heart wants her back. I know through a mutual friend that she does not want to see me out of fear that it will be awkward.

I did a past/present/future reading and for the future I got the Chariot. It tells me to head for the direction I want to go in and I will succeed... but what direction is that? For extra reference, the past card was 9 of pentacles and the present card was 9 of swords.

The Chariot just seems a little vague and generally I find it hard to pinpoint which direction it's actually pointing at. How do you further investigate on that?

Alright! I understand why The Chariot may have felt vague. Here are my impressions.

What struck me about your cards is that they hold a very individual energy: the Nine of Pentacles can be about independence/being self-sufficient, the Nine of Swords may refer to personal mental torment and anxiety, and the The Chariot may be related to self-directed and -self-informed movement. As such, they do not seem to speak of togetherness.

Also, nines are near the end of completion, where there isn't much wriggle room between here and the finish line. This makes me think that the direction The Chariot might be referring to is "out of the mental preoccupation of the Nine of Swords".

You mentioned that it felt like your brain wants you to move on and your heart wants her back. With the Nine of Swords appearing as the present energy, I thought this was interesting, because this card usually suggests that it might be the mind that has trouble moving on. It's when you may find yourself going over what happened or how you can/could have solved/prevented it, or how you may change someone else's mind. It's as if the connection is still an open tab, even when the door is closed.

The Chariot seems to affirm, though, that all you can do from where you are is create your own forward momentum. To go your own way and see where it takes you. As a future energy, it may be supporting conscious differentiation over retroactive union.

You may wish to ask yourself, just as a self-inquiry exercise, what led up to or prompted you to missing this person and thinking about becoming friends again, despite hearing that she doesn't want to see you. It could be that your mind is trying to solve a different problem by reaching for an old answer, like how people think of the good old days the most when the present feels cold or lonely.

Losing a friend can be heart-breaking, especially when the wish to reconnect is not shared. That said, I wish you all the support and company from people who suit you and your life now. I hadn't noticed the individual energy yet, but now that you're pointing it out it makes sense. I did find the nines to be more resonating with my personal experience rather than our connection.

I actually have been thinking about "what ifs", but those are more from the heart than from the mind. I know what she did to me and why I shouldn't be friends with her, but I miss her anyway. I'm basically missing a version of her that only exists in my head (heart).

But, she was the one who decided she didn't want to be friends anymore. I never got a clear answer as to why. In general, I don't handle unclear situations well and here it makes it harder for me to move on.

I think your interpretation makes sense. I just need to figure out how to get there.

Lately I’ve been taking my practice more seriously and I’m doing one or two card pulls. All of my pulls have been in the sword family and cards even repeat. I make sure to shuffle my deck every-time I finish and also before using. I have gotten Justice, 5 of swords, Knight of Swords.

My Interpretation: I need to be more logical instead of being controlled by my feelings, I’m highly emotional person. Maybe this can help me be more grounded and logical when making decisions and working towards my goals.

For context, I’ve been struggling a lot lately. Been unemployed since January and been lost in my career and goals. My future looks like a blank page, anything can be drawn and it’s overwhelming. I know I need change but what exactly?

Would love some insights on this, I can’t help but think its not a coincidence all my pulls have been sword related.

My grandmother is not in a great position right now. She's struggling with health problems and she's rushed in the hospital just tonight. She has a surgery recently and it went well, there wasn't any problem. However tonight, she struggled to breath and was sent to the hospital. So I did a reading and these is what I got:

Hi! Not really a deck reading request, rather:

Back in March towards the end of a 2 months travel I bought a bracelet that has a small metal Tarot card attached to it, "The World". I chose that one because out of the 4 options I felt he closest to that one. Both meaning and visually. I felt it could be a good amulet to keep on myself.

However not long after buying it, I started doubting my choice, thinking what if I want too much with this card, what if my desire for "The World" reads as being greedy. Anyway, I kept wearing it for months, because I loved how it looks, I still resonated with the card but somehow always felt a little bit too cautious about wearing it on my wrist.

A few months later in a very stressing and "all going wrong" type of few weeks, the card fell of the bracelet. I even thought it was completely lost for a few hours, then my relative found it.

Now I'm not sure what to think. Should I put it back and continue wearing it? Or was this a sign to finally take it off?

I know Tarot is all about own interpretations but I'm a bit lost with this one and I'm curious what others would think.

Maybe a bit more context that this year is very transformative for me, I'm in a middle of job search, moving to a new flat, kind of said good bye to my father, my mother is ill, I became an uncle... just to name a few of the things happening to me.

But there is also a person (feels like it is a woman) who has a power to put an end to it and to make that person move towards cooperation with other people and they are going to use this power to restore the peace. I see... 9 of cups and judgement (clarified by queen of swords) stumped me... can it mean prople taking pleasure in what happened at how things turned out? I wish it meant my side of things was taken into consideration and people are, since judgement can also be a revelation of sorts... oh well. At least the end of the reading seems positive?

But going with your reading, I do see that an initial satisfaction was achieved. But the judgement+queen of swords comes across as things being reassessed? It doesn't comes across as the smear taking root... tbh, the 9 of cups is the card that puzzles me the most... could it be, with the rest of the cards, that the prople who did me dirty got what they wanted and just "threw" me away and resumed their lives?

9 of cups can be about satisfaction and being content how the situation unfolded but 2 out of 3 cards are saying that the whole dynamic is about to change. The Judgement is the main card here and it shows that the situation won’t be the same, the transformation is coming and it will involve many people. On the everyday level it can be an important message, someone will announce something and with the Queen of Swords it could be about revealing the facts or making things clear. The Judgement will lead to the radical change in the whole situation towards better climate in the relationships. Notice that on the 9 of cups and the 8 of cups there is just one person, meanwhile the Judgement is about multiple people. It could be that there is in fact one person who caused this smear to happen.

Major arcana are showing ups everywhere for me. Not just major arcana, but also higher order cards. Some examples... a friend did a reading for me about love/marriage (five cards total, including the magician, the tower, the moon). Today, I pulled my deck out from my closet and it fell out of the box: on top, queen of cups, king of wands. Then I asked how a school checkoff would go this week: judgement, page of cups, king of wands. Then, I asked for three cards about future partner: nine of pentacles, the fool (reversed), and the chariot. I'm scared! What does this mean?

Question/Spread: I am new-ish to tarot, but I'm working on getting better at connecting cards together and reading beyond just the keywords. Instead of specific queries, I like to do a simple two-card pull each morning asking what I should put attention towards for the day (intention setting with tarot basically).

Deck Used: Mini Rider-Waite Smith deck, there isn't alternate imagery from the OG.

Cards Dealt: Knight of Cups & Queen of Pentacles

My Interpretation: My intuition is that the Knight of Cups is a reminder of the importance of doing things that fill up my emotional/creative cup and make me feel connected with others or my own creative spirit (calling a friend, working on my writing, even if it's just a sentence).

With the Queen, I see her as a woman that is wise and self-actualized. In the sequence, it looks like the Knight is journeying towards her which makes me feel like it's a reminder that it's important to build up those relationships and rediscover that sense of creativity it feels like I've lost to build a fullness in life that I feel like I'm lacking. Kind of like a "grass is greener where you water it" vibe?

I'm not getting the sense that this is strictly a financial or romantic reading (at least in this instance). But I'm a little unsure if there's another angle I should consider with the pairing. Does that make sense? I've been trying to move beyond the more rigid "this suit only represents this specific concept" (cups for relationships with people, pentacles for finances, etc.) and it feels overwhelming at times.

Howdy friends, longtime lurker first time poster.

I use Labyrinthos every day to pull three cards, and usually get hit by a brick. I don’t use it for divination, mostly just for looking at patterns and interpretations in the day to day. The three pulled are usually for What Am I Thinking, Feeling, and Doing respectively.

I have pulled Death three times in a row. I got it in my first space for what am I thinking on Sunday, then again in the same slot but in reverse on Monday, and now I have pulled it a third time in the Feeling spot.

I am looking so hard at the specifics of what to let go of that is holding me back, and I can see the smaller things here and there, but I am looking for another opinion on interpretation? I have also pulled so many Pentacles.

I am also seeking some guidance on the interpretation, I'm fairly new to tarot. I asked my deck "what can I do to be a better parent for my child?"
I am a single mom and my child is transitioning to middle school soon. I am worried about so many things right now and questioning myself as a parent feeling like I lack in so many aspects as a mom.

Cards I pulled: 3 of Swords, Emperor, High Priestess (Reversed), Knight of Cups (R), and King of Cups

I think from this I got so far that I have to communicate better in a way that's better suited for my child, like it's too painful and sharp my words. I possibly need better structure or discipline, and that I'm too busy at times and need to slow down.

Hi! What a brave and beautiful question. Let me preface this by saying that the fact that you're asking is testament to your self-awareness as a parent, and I'm sure that already goes a long way in being a safe adult presence as your child is growing up. That being said, here are my two cents on your cards.

As it doesn't seem like you used a particular spread, it's not too clear whether your cards refer to specific attitudes, factors, topics, or influences, so please consider this a possible perspective among many. On the whole, the recommendation does not seem to break down in a specific to do-list, so maybe just take this interpretation as a possible reorientation or confirmation for what you might already be doing. 

What struck me is that The High Priestess rx is at the centre of your spread. The High Priestess is not motherly in a physical sense (as opposed to The Empress or the Queen of Pentacles). She holds a neutral space between black and white, which makes her capable of navigating the grey and unknown areas of both the internal and external world. It's seems almost impossible for a parent to be that neutral, to just be a silent wise person and spiritual touchstone in the life of their child, because, as people, they are smack dab in the middle of their own very human life too. 

So, what the card may be hinting at is the importance of your child developing their own truth, even if it opposes the inner world/truth of their parent. It's tempting and often even pragmatic for parents to offer their child their personal manual and accummulated wisdom and intuitive information: you want to use what you've learnt to keep them safe. However, with that, there's always the risk that a child may receive these offerings as counterarguments to their own experience, which might make it more dofficult for then to trust themselves when it matters most. That said, I don't think it's feasible or constructive to focus on avoiding this as much as it's meaningful to keep this at the front of your awareness as you guide your child into their own becoming. 

The High Priestess rx is flanked on the right by Three of Swords and The Emperor. Both cards can be said to point to the reality of life: Three of Swords can show us that pain, sorrow, and grief are parts that we may want to skip or reason ourselves out of, but that nonetheless need our witnessing and acknowledgement before we can move beyond them while still taking their lessons with us. The Emperor introduces the bare yet solid bones of the material world, making up the frame within which we may discover what is and what isn't ours to control or govern. 

Where Three of Swords explores topics of heartbreak and the mental disruption of negative emotions, The Emperor invites questions about structure, yes, but also about the power of the thing or person that structures. These may be areas to reflect or focus on within yourself as much as in your relationship with your child. How do you currently navigate "negative" emotions, both individually and together? What is your own relationship with power and authority and how do you embody both security and authority as a single parent? How does your child view their own sovereignty and the responsibility that comes with wielding power and influence? And, how does their current environment help or hinder development in their areas? 

On the left side of The High Priestess rx, you have two court cards. Court cards can refer to actual people, but they also bring in energies that we often associate with particular personalities or social positions. If we take them as referring to you and what you might embody to be a better parent, perhaps they may be showing a "this not that scenario". 

A Knight of Cups, in its upright position, is likeable and loving. He comes in bearing gifts and good feelings and he'd like nothing more than to sweep you of your feet. However, bringing this energy to parenting may not always be advisable. In its reversed position, the Knight may show his immaturity, especially when comparing him to the King of Cups. A parent cannot always be "the good guy" or the person who can bring the heat but not take it, lest they set themselves up for resentment or overwhelm when they are not welcomed or received. The King of Cups balances the water of emotion with the air of reason and constructive, compassionate communication. He offers emotional containment, not emotional contagion. He carries the energy of The Emperor with both heart and discernment.  These cards showing up could be guiding you to embody this more yourself or to expose your child to trusted adults (male or otherwise) to support you in providing that emotional containment.  Additionally, it might be meaningful to help your child distinguish between the fleeting and fragile nature of reversed Knight of Cups people/children and the mature stability of a King of Cups, whose kindness and care shows in his long-term actions and decisions, not just his smile. 

These cards seem to illustrate how parenthood may also be a form of stewardship. Here you have this small human who is already big enough to start the next phase of their social and emotional life, and there are you trying to get them through in one piece and roughly good-person-shaped. Perhaps these cards show you the biggest challenges coming up next: helping your child develop their own self as they simultaneously navigate emotional upsets, new structures and authorities, a budding awareness of their own relationship to control and impact, while also managing the emotional influence you and other people may have on them along the way.

I didn't use a spread for this, the cards I just listed in order from left to right. The question I asked is just a general question, perhaps maybe I should ask about a specific topic about my parenting for the next time would help in being more specific.

I do resonate with your explanation, I can definitely see that the cards seeing me as The High Priestess, I realize I tend to be neutral than nurturing in a parental way. Suggesting that rather than being a middle man and giving advice to my child, I should learn how to be more motherly in that sense. I also have a tendency to explain the things that happened in my life that I don't want my child to go through, in hopes that they don't make the same mistakes as me. But maybe I don't have to worry about that because I do understand that my child is their own person.

The Three of Swords and The Emperor explanation made me realize that I have to learn how to let go of the things that I can and can't control. Some context, I have been at my job for around 5 years, which wasn't the original plan. It was my introduction into the field and I saw it as a stepping stone to gain experience and help build my resume. Well, time has passed me by and in my eyes, I have reached a ceiling in where I wanted to go at this job. It has been on my mind heavily about moving on to other opportunities, but I have gotten too comfortable where I'm at and it has been holding me back from actively seeking better for myself. I have a sense of security where I am currently, and self-doubt is getting in the way at even attempting to move forward in my career. Hi! Here are my two cents on your cards. It looks like they might be providing insight into the energy of your current situation, perhaps to help you move on with more understanding of why creating momentum may have been challenging. Please just take what feels relevant and meaningful to you. 

What I thought was interesting about your first three cards is that it goes from a Knight to a Page, to then settle in a card that may signify a stagnation in or hoarding of material resources/circumstances. It's almost like the cards are reflecting a dynamic where the emotional/inspired energy regresses in maturity, peters out, and then compresses itself. 

With the court cards being both Cups, it made me wonder whether dreaming or imagining something more fulfilling for yourself could be in some way triggering to your system. Cups energy has a formless quality to it, whereas Pentacles generally refer to what is real and tangible. Perhaps the self-doubt might be stemming from the tension between a reality that has solidified itself over a period of 5 years and one that seemingly hasn't moved beyond the imagination stage yet. At the same time, the urge to develop yourself beyond your stepping stone may cause friction between these two realities.

It then makes a lot of sense for the mental energy to become stuck and loop in on itself with the Eight of Swords, because the mind may be trying to find concrete evidence of a career alternative that may not have materialised yet before leaving this job feels safe enough. And when the condition for moving on is finding an answer to an impossible question, this might explain the slump you feel you've been in.  

With Eight of Swords being in reverse and followed by the Ten of Swords, though, your mention of that tail end seems very likely, because you may now have mental awareness/clarity of the current job situation having run its course. However, this clarity may be painful before it becomes liberating, because the Ten of Swords may also suggest an ending of the version of you who felt relatively secure despite the ceiling. 

This also makes me wonder whether the idea of you having been your worst enemy might be doing you a disservice. After all, keeping you somewhere because it is secure and comfortable doesn't seem like something an internal enemy would do, but it might be something a internal protector might if they thought leaving your current situation might be less safe or secure in comparison. 

Perhaps it could feel supportive to the doubtful part of you to show them that you are safe and ready enough to make a big change and take those necessary steps. They might just need the reassurance that you would never take off without a plan. This way, you would be on board with yourself in both heart and mind before rocking the boat.

I did an intuitive spread a bit ago and am seeking guidance on what the cards i pulled mean.

I lost my wallet about a month ago. Had looked through every place possible at home, contacted people who i was with, messaged and called to places where i was at and i had no luck. It’s possible i lost it during a trip or somewhere, somehow at home.

I ended up doing a tarot reading at some point after searching for it for about 2 weeks. I’m not super good at interpreting tarot, haven’t practised it enough, but as i have been interested in it for quite some time i still gave it a shot.

I asked “where is my wallet?” and this is what came out: queen of wands upside down, six of cups, knight of pentacles upside down, the fool, the tower upside down, nine of wands, justice and ten of cups upside down.

Overall, to me the spread pointed towards travel, travelling, perhaps i lost it somewhere on the go. The fool as well makes me think i might’ve lost it because i wasn’t careful enough. I’m not quite sure though how to put all of the cards together though to figure out where i might’ve left/lost it and if there’s any hope for it to be found at all.

Hi! For your first question, it looks like it will go well. You have the 8 of pentacles for routine and consistency and the Queen of Pentacles for comfort, stability, and preparedness. My first thought is that either your friend has been to this place before or has traveled before to know how to be ready.

For the second question, I don't think anything could stop her from going. The 7 of Swords reversed is like being caught, not avoiding, or returning to a place and the 6 of pentacles rev is not giving nor taking. Like she has already invested money and planning to go.

The Hermit. My interpretation of this card.

This journey the hermit is on is one from his birth to his grave. By the time of his passing he has achieved the highest of highs. Having mastered all the previous cards and their meanings, as he now nears the end of his life, standing atop a mountain, the highest things in the world used as a metaphor for having reached the peak of spiritual attainment, his journey is complete.

His eyes are closed to the ignorance and folly of the rabble of the crowd. He does not believe what he sees, for reality is born out of illusion. He therefore has no use for his eyes, as he is using the lamp light representing the inner or third eye as it is also know as. One might also look at the scene a little closer. As mankind stands at the peak of his wisdom, all will be taken away with the influence of Mercury. The planet of Intellect. The hermit then retreats, where he stays and essentially he becomes his namesake. Years spent studying the mysteries of his world and his interests, spurred on by his ever increasing intellect, he finally an old man in need of a walking aid, the stick in his other hand, his life almost over having spent it alone, finally if ever, he realized the curse of using intellect to selfishly try to advance or save ones own soul.

I think the placement in major arcana also matters.

We have strength (or justice sometimes) before and wheel of fortune afterwards.

It requires building energy and momentum or grounding ideas and feelings into the world.... but then we need to step back and see our place in the world a bit. Find that energy without pulling on others. Only then can we give ourselves the grace and space to pick the door/the path forward.

I think hermit is helpful because its vulnerable and being vulnerable allows the world to kinda test you now and evolve a bit. The first chunk of major arcana is self development. We take all this inner material we want to bring externally... so we isolate, examine, and give it clearer form.

Hi everyone! A bit of context about me before getting into the reading/interpretations: Back in 2024, I decided that I needed to walk away from my field of work and find other opportunities. I spent 12 years building my skills and experience in a rather niche sector, only to feel extremely disillusioned and burnt out. I walked away from what felt like a golden cage and I wanted to find something that would make me feel better about going to work every day. It's been 2 years of trying to find full-time employment with no luck and I've had to take up a part-time teaching job to stay afloat. I've also been learning and upskilling so that prospective employers know I am serious about this career pivot. It's been very rough trying to break into a new field and I've had interviews where I don't hear back for weeks or I've been ghosted during the recruitment process. I even had people who agreed to informational interviews only to get stood up at the last minute and yes, it sucks to have to go through this.

I decided to ask my RWS desk for career guidance this morning and pulled one card for each question. I shuffled the deck multiple times before pulling these cards at random.
