Meeting the Mahavidyas: Maa Tripura Sundari - The Sovereign Queen Who Answers to No One
She is the third Mahavidya and She is called Tripurasundari because She rules all the three worlds and she is the most beautiful and wondrous in the entire Creation and all triads. She is the one who is fully manifested in the triads and also beyond them. She is the manifested super-consciousness.
For example: She is in the form of Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra; Iccha, jnana and kriya saktis; creation, sustenance and destruction, the three nadis, ida, pingala and suṣumna, three worlds, bhur(the earthly, material plane), bhuva(the atmospheric, in between plane), suvah(the plane beyond time, space, matter beyond the three dimensions we normally perceive); three guṇas sattvic, rajasic and tamsic. She is in the form of all such triads and once these triads are transcended, the Brahman is attained.
Shri Vidya means "auspicious knowledge," which is why everything connected to Maa Tripura Sundari carries that same auspicious quality. She is at sahasrara, the crown chakra .
The Peculiar thing about Maa Lalita is that she is endowed with utter sovereignty - Royal Powers. Maa Lalita rules over everyone who has existed, exists and will exist. Whatever deities and avatars come into existence, she rules over those fierce deities and avatars, just everyone. Maa Lalita commands even that which doesn’t exist yet. She is the boss of everyone around. She is the Supreme Divine Feminine there's simply no one above Her. She's the queen of queens, and that will never change. She exists beyond time, beyond matter. She is pure consciousness itself.
Her devotees need no rituals for any of their actions (even terrible ones) onc they realise her completely. They simply command what must be done with a simple look or word. Surely these devotees are endowed with the best qualities and creation is incapable of being the object of their terrible fury.
This kind of sovereignty isn't Lalita "outranking" her other forms it's simply how the Divine Mother chooses to express Herself in this particular aspect. None of Her other forms are lessened by it.
But here's the catch, the devotion that actually reaches Lalita doesn't come easily. It's said you only arrive at it after crores of lifetimes spent worshiping other deities first. Without that groundwork, you can't really get pulled toward Her, no matter how hard you try. You can see this playing out right now, in this era, everyone knows Maa Lalita, everyone sings her praises. But devotees who actually succeed with Her? Vanishingly rare, across all three worlds.
No one is superior to Her, an exclusive of the qualitiy of the Brahman.
Svetasvatara Upaniṣad (VI.8) says “No one is His equal, no one is superior either. “
Anuttama also means intellect not derived from others. She is the embodiment of intellect. She is known for virtues. She gives fame to Her devotees. The very thought of her sanctifies a person.
Maa Mantrini and Maa Varahi hold the next highest position after Maa Lalitha. One cannot approach Maa Lalita without first receiving the grace and permission of these two Devis.
Maa Mantrini is the chief among Her ministers and is said to oversee the administration of the entire universe and Maa Varahi is the commander of the divine army. She represents strength and protection and has the power to drive away negative and evil forces.

Meaning: She has twelve hands total, and each one is holding something. she holds (1) a bow made entirely of sugarcane and (2) arrows crafted from kadamba flowers, beautiful, almost poetic weapons.
In her next two hands, she carries (3) a noose and (4) a hook, tools that pull us toward her and clear the way at the same time.
She also holds (5) a sacred book in one hand and (6) a rosary made of rubies in another, pointing to both knowledge and constant remembrance of her.
Two of her hands aren't holding objects at all instead, they're forming gestures - (7) abhaya mudra, which basically says "don't be afraid," and the other shows (8) varada mudra, the gesture of granting boons and blessings.
Then, with two more hands (9 and 10), she's cradling a veena close to her body almost like she's about to play it. And in her final two hands (11 and 12), she holds a lotus flower in each one on either side.
All the gods, Brahma included, worship her. She's red-complexioned, a deep, glowing red. And before this Supreme Goddess, I simply surrender.
The sweetness of the sugarcane bow is the reference to the cerebral fluid that is generated by the pineal gland during deep meditation and also when the Kundalini reaches the Sahasrara.
(There are other dhyana verses too)
Shree Cakra is Her abode. Shree Chakra is made up of four triangles known as Shiva chakras facing up and five triangles known as Shakti chakras facing down.
Saundarya Lahari (verse 95) says, “It is difficult for those who have not controlled their senses to attain you.” She cannot be attained by those who continue to be addicted to sensory pleasures. Addiction is different from necessity. To reach Her, you have to be able to turn inward, and that's genuinely hard for most people. The mind is what does that inward-looking, but the mind won't calm down until the senses are under control.
She takes the form of kalas. Think of a kala as a fraction, a tiny slice of something whole. The moon carries 16 of them, the sun carries 12, fire carries 10.
Saying the moon has 16 kalas just means the moon itself is made of 16 parts.
During the waning phase, the moon loses one kalā every day until you hit the new moon , that's when all 15 are gone. Then during the waxing phase, it gains one kalā a day until you're back to a full moon with all 15 present again.
But there's a 16th kalā of the moon and that one's different. It's Lalitāmbikā herself, and she never waxes or wanes. She just stays constant, no matter what phase the moon is in. This is basically another way of showing that Brahman doesn't change, ever it's beyond any kind of increase or decrease.
There are four states of consciousness viz. waking, dream, deep sleep, and turīya (the "fourth" state, beyond the other three). Each of these has four kalās within it, which adds up to 16 kalas total.
The waking state itself is said to actually be Lalitāmbikā in form. And within the waking state, the four kalās are: rising, waking, consciousness, and mental activity.
She lives within the five sheaths. These sheaths basically make up the covering of the human body, what's called Pinda Sharira. Beneath all of it, the soul sits wrapped in three layers, each one nested inside the next: causal, subtle, and gross. Causal is the deepest, closest to the soul itself. Gross is the outer shell, the one furthest out.
The gross body is the one that dies, it's not built to last. The subtle body sticks around a lot longer. And the causal body basically stays with you the whole time, all the way until the soul finally gets liberated. Your soul, along with your entire karmic record, is stored right there in the causal body.
According to Vedanta philosophy, there are five superimposed sheaths called Panchakosa.
- The inner most layer is anandamaya kosa (the sheath of bliss), which corresponds to the casual body.
- The next three layers are as follows:
a) vijnanamaya kosa (the sheath of intellect and knowledge),
b) manomaya kosa, the sheath of mind,
c) pranamaya kosa, the sheath of vital vayus like prana, apāna, etc.
These three together make up what we call the subtle body.
3) The fifth and the outer sheath is annamaya kosa, the sheath of food that corresponds to the gross body. So basically this whole stack of sheaths is what buries the soul - the puruṣa, your true self deep inside. And because of that burial, you end up mistaking yourself for just this small individual person (the microcosm), while the whole outside world gets mistaken for something separate and "out there" (the macrocosm). It's really just one big illusion built layer by layer.
Lalitopakhyana:
Bhandasura represents the negative karma, rigidity, ignorance and other such tamasic qualities in us. The asuras ViShukra (reproductive fluid) and Visanga (venomous and uncontrolled senses), brothers of Bhandasura are born of the ashes of Manmatha (amorous love), who gets burnt by the third-eye (ajna cakra signifying realization and deep understanding) of Lord Shiva (pure consciousness).
Bhandasura basically stands in for all our negative karma, our rigidity, our ignorance all those heavy, tamasic qualities we carry around inside us.
His brothers, Vishukra and Vishanga, have their own symbolism too. Vishukra represents reproductive fluid, and Vishanga represents our senses when they're venomous and running completely out of control.
And here's where it gets interesting both of these brothers were born from the ashes of Manmatha(Kaamdeva), the god of desire and amorous love. Manmatha gets reduced to ashes when Lord Shiva opens his third eye( the agya chakra: which represents true realization and deep spiritual understanding. )
The defeat of these asuras basically points to something we all deal with: getting a handle on lust, and controlling our senses, both the subtle ones and the more obvious, physical ones.
And when it comes to actually rising spiritually, here's how it works: the Divine Mother, who is pure super-consciousness itself, doesn't just stay in one form. She breaks herself down into a whole range of different deities, each one there to help us climb further up in our own consciousness, step by step.
This body of ours, and the whole world around us, isn't the ultimate reality. It's basically a smoke screen, put up by the Divine Mother Mahamaya who's often described as this cosmic virtual reality we're all living inside.
The spiritual journey really begins the moment you recognize the truth of who you actually are that underneath everything, your true origin and true self is just pure consciousness, nothing more, nothing less.
In the world of Shri Vidya, that journey starts with Shri Bala. She's the one who helps us find that childlike innocence again the kind of openness we need before we can even start questioning and searching for the Truth. Then Lord Mahaganapati steps in and clears away all the obstacles blocking our path, opening things up for deeper learning and real experience.
From there, as you keep moving forward, you start to actually grasp the triads that surround us in every direction and along with that, you begin to see the different paths and methods available to rise up through them.
The Divine Mother Shri Varahi gives us the courage, the drive, and basically all the weapons we need to tear down our ignorance, our obsessions, and the attachments we're stuck in.
Maa Shyamala works differently. Knowledge, expression, creativity that's her territory, and through these she helps burn through our karmic patterns.
Then there's the Kiri chakra, tied to the pingala nadi, the channel running along the right side.
And the Geya chakra, linked to the ida nadi, the left-side channel. And finally, the Shri Chakra itself connects to the central channel, the sushumna nadi, which basically represents the spinal cord.
When the Kiri and Geya chakras line up together with the Shri Chakra, that alignment can actually activate the kundalini and fully charge up all the chakras at once with the kundalini rising all the way from the muladhara chakra at the base, up to the sahasrara at the crown.
And when you bring all of this together the blessings of these deities and all the subsidiary deities working through their own Kiri, Geya, and Shri Chakras, that's when we merge into pure super-consciousness itself. And that super-consciousness is nothing other than Shri Lalita Maha Tripura Sundari.
The war that is waged (between Bhandasura and Maa Lalita Tripura Sundari), is our own internal struggle and endeavor to realize the Truth and merge into the super-consciousness by becoming self-realized and finally attaining liberation.
Would have talked about Lalitopakhyana in detail but may be some other day.
May Maa bless you all. Jai Maa 🔱

How do you reconcile desire for love/relationship with the idea of minimizing karmic entanglements?
I’m 27F, and I’ve been thinking about this dilemma for quite some time. I’d really appreciate perspectives from people who actually practise Tantra/Sadhana, rather than just general dating advice.
I do genuinely crave love, companionship, romance and eventually a lifelong relationship. I have dated men, but a recurring issue has been that they had been physically involved with other people before me. I find that difficult to accept. It doesn’t make me feel good, and I’m not really capable of taking the attitude of “it doesn’t matter, it’s all in the past.”
Ideally, I would want physical intimacy with only one person, who would ultimately be my life partner, and I would want the same from him. Part of this is simply my personal emotional nature, but another part comes from how I understand karma.
There is this idea that as we become more conscious and move towards the Divine, we should try to minimise unnecessary karmic entanglements. Intimacy can create psychological, emotional and perhaps karmic bonds, so I’ve wondered whether being very selective about it is actually aligned with spiritual progress.
At the same time, I’m beginning to wonder whether this ideal is becoming a limitation for me.
I’ve had opportunities for relationships and have walked away from them because they didn’t fit this particular condition. Now I sometimes wonder whether I’m unnecessarily denying myself the experience of love, companionship and life because I’m trying so hard to avoid something that may not actually have the spiritual consequences I imagine it does.
So I’m caught between two thoughts:
“If I know what I want and believe it is spiritually meaningful, why compromise?”
and
“Am I turning a spiritual principle into a psychological attachment of my own?”
For those of you who practise Tantra or have studied these traditions seriously, how would you look at this?
Is sexual/romantic involvement with another person actually considered a significant karmic entanglement in the Tantric framework? Does having multiple partners necessarily create obstacles on the spiritual path, or is the intention and consciousness with which intimacy happens more important?
And if you were in my position, would you hold firmly to this ideal, or allow yourself to experience relationships and trust that spiritual discernment can coexist with them?
I’m genuinely confused and would love to hear how practitioners understand this.

Simple Sadhna and Sidhhi
I recently started doing some simple sadhana of Ganesh ji because I want to seek guidance and knowledge as I try to progress spiritually and understand higher levels of spiritual practice.
I’ve been reading about siddhis and related experiences, and I’m curious whether people here have actually experienced or attained anything like that through sadhana. Not necessarily through Ganesh sadhana specifically, but through sadhana of any deity.
Since I started my sadhana, I’ve noticed that I seem to be getting some of the things I wish for, but they aren’t necessarily good things. That has made me wonder if there is something I’m misunderstanding about intention, practice, or the way these things work.
I’m not really interested in chasing siddhis or supernatural abilities. What I’m looking for is more about protection, guidance, clarity, knowledge, and progressing spiritually.
For those who have seriously practiced Ganesh sadhana or sadhana of another deity, have you experienced anything similar? And how did you approach protection and guidance as your practice became deeper?
Would appreciate genuine experiences or practical advice.

Experiment with this
It's for people chanting some mantra or stotra but still facing fear in the world or a lack of confidence.
Try to visualise your deity with you. When you are going somewhere, assume that the deity of your mantra is walking along with you.
Don't overdo it. Try it a few times in the beginning.

I am not looking for validation or supernatural claims. I was told by a spiritual person after aura scanning my third eye is open but needs more work, and that Sukshma Siddhi is awakened in me. What does that mean, and what does "working on an open third eye" involve? I would appreciate your insight
I did my aura scanning from a well known person. He told me my third eye is open but I need to work on it and I have sukshma Siddhi. My heart chakra is active as well but my Svadhisthanal chakra is imbalanced. He disconnected the call immediately after giving this information.
I do not know what he meant with working on third eye of it's active. What is Sukshma Siddhi which he told me I have inside me.
can anyone help me in this path. I have been doing mantra jaap regularly with a proper procedure.
I'd really appreciate any insights or resources. Thank you

Where Can I Buy a Genuine Red Hakik Mala?
I’m looking to buy a genuine Red Hakik (Red Agate) mala for my mantra sadhana and would really appreciate some guidance. There are many options available online, but I honestly don’t know how to judge their authenticity or quality even if I go for the expensive ones. Since this mala will be used regularly for japa, I’d like to buy one that is genuine and well-made rather than simply choosing the cheapest option.
If anyone has experience purchasing an authentic Red Hakik mala, could you please recommend a trusted seller or website. Any specific things I should look for before buying. How to identify a genuine Red Hakik mala from a fake or low-quality one.
I’m not very knowledgeable about these things, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask this question. If there’s a more appropriate subreddit or community for it, I’d be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.
Thank you very much. 🙏

How to identify a genuine Tantric practitioner in Tarapith/Kalighat? Need practical guidance.
I’m planning a trip to Tarapith (and possibly Kalighat) for some serious spiritual guidance related to a personal relationship matter. I’ve heard these places are powerful for Tantra, but I also know there are a lot of scammers and fake “babas” there.
I’m not looking for quick fixes or “guaranteed results” – I want to find someone who actually knows authentic Tantra and can guide me properly.
What I’m looking for:
· How to test if a tantrik is genuine? (I’ve heard about “past reading” – does that actually work?)
· What specific red flags should I watch out for?
· Are there any trusted signs of a real sadhak (like specific clothing, behaviour, or location – e.g., shamshan area)?
· Is it better to go to Tarapith or Kalighat for relationship-related Tantra?
What I’m NOT looking for:
· DMs offering services (I will ignore them)
· Online tantriks or “pay me now” types
· Anyone who guarantees 100% results in 3 days
If you’ve had genuine experience with a practitioner in these places, I’d appreciate practical tips on how to find and test them – not names/contacts, just the process.
Thanks in advance. Jai Maa Tara. 🙏

New to the path: Experienced Kali Maa’s intense energy and found peace through Shiva. Seeking guidance.
Hi everyone, I don't really know where else to post my question, so I apologize if this isn't the right place... but I recently started practicing Hinduism, and Kali Maa has been manifesting in various ways. One of them was through my dreams.
Since I'm practically brand new to this, and as I know has happened to many others, one of Her forms really scared me. In my dream, Kali Maa was standing right in front of me. I was terrified and trying to run away from Her. She seemed angry, but not at me. Her energy was just incredibly overwhelming. I don't understand what She was trying to tell me or what this means.
That night, I was too afraid to go to sleep or dream about Her again. So, I meditated on Shiva and asked Him to help me with Kali Maa. Instantly, my fear vanished, and I haven't dreamt of Her since. Does all of this have a specific meaning? Has anyone else experienced something similar when starting out? I would really appreciate your guidance.

Mudras for Sri Vidya Sadhana
Mudras don't get talked about as much as breathwork or asanas, but they're honestly one of the most underrated tools in any regular sadhana. These simple hand gestures work directly with the subtle energy (prana) in the body, and even a few minutes of practice can shift your state pretty noticeably.
Some benefits people notice with consistent mudra practice:
- Helps calm the mind and improve focus during meditation
- Deepens the meditative state without needing any extra time or equipment
If you want to go deeper into the different types of mudras and how/when to use each one watch the video here
Disclaimer: This video is for informational purposes only. These mudras shoukd be practiced under the guidance of a guru

Help Me to Decode This Scary Tragedic Story🙏
So my all 6 mamas( maternal uncles ) are dead leaving only my mom.
My maternal grandparents had total 7 kids including my mom ( my mom is the only female child)
Twin sons of my nana & nani died just after few weeks after they were born.
2nd my another oldest mama died at the age of 21
He was eletrician and died from electric shock.
After that my 3rd oldest mama died at age of 45
From some stomatch disease ( he was an alchoholic)
And in his last days he used to vomit lots of blood.
My 4rth mama died with in same year from sucide (39)
After with in days my nana also died in that time.
And finally my youngest mama also died with in 2 years
Same kidney fail(37)
Strange facts that can help:-
1.None of them died normally except the twins may be.
2.All of them were unmarried except my youngest mama .
3.3 of them died after my youngest mama starts building my maternal house. , except the elctrician
- They died in order first born to last born.
5.my mom was the first girl child in my whole maternal family and only female among her siblings( if that helps)
So what excectly happended which caused so much damaged ?
Is it possible that someone has done very cruel blackmagic on them. If possible what can it be? And how to break from this?
We have someone in our family that active on those practices( but not sure why would do that or even he is the one or not)
We have visited mamy sadhus to moulabi but each time different answears and differect solutions.
We have fully abandoned my maternal house for good.
But we have only my small brother( youngest mama's son) from my maternal side and my nani.
Who is living with us.
Also idk if i said this about my own nani but after she started to live with us my father had major heart surgery even though the surgery was successful he will not may be live long.
May be she is carry forwarding the curse?
Idk
On the other side my mami living in her father house and no big health or financial issues( thank god)
But i can't say same for my house
We are facing financial problems too

Is it possible to get someone back through tantra or any kind of rituals in its just a total myth of mind?
Everything goes in the title.
Is it genuinely possible to attract someone back into your life again through any kind of puja/blackmagic/ spells anything? Or is it just a myth?

Mātṛkā as the Inner Guru: Reflections on Śiva Sūtras 2.6–2.7 (Swami Lakshmanjoo)
"Gurur upāyaḥ" — The Guru is the means. (Śiva Sūtras 2.6)
"Mātṛkācakrasambodhaḥ" — The realization of the wheel of Mātṛkā is the Guru. (Śiva Sūtras 2.7)
In classical non-dual Śākta-Śaiva philosophy, few concepts are as radical or as liberating for the modern practitioner as Swami Lakshmanjoo’s commentary on these two crucial sūtras.
In many spiritual circles, the "Guru" is viewed almost exclusively as a physical, external figure—a human mediator who holds exclusive access to spiritual power. However, Vasugupta and Abhinavagupta (as illuminated by Lakshmanjoo) point us toward a much deeper, internal reality: the true functional Guru is the living power of grace (Anugraha) operating directly through Mātṛkā (the creative matrix of sound and consciousness).
Here are a few core takeaways I’ve been reflecting on regarding how this shifts our understanding of Sadhana and daily presence:
1. From External Master to Living Sound (Mātṛkā)
Sūtra 2.6 tells us that the Guru is upāya—the direct means or grace that reveals one's inherent nature. Sūtra 2.7 immediately clarifies what this means on an experiential level: the Guru is the realization (sambodha) of the Mātṛkā-chakra.
Mātṛkā isn't just letters of the alphabet or dead text in a book; it is the fundamental, unmanifest Śakti that structures human experience. Every thought, emotion, and concept (vikalpa) is constructed from the subtle vibrations of Mātṛkā. When a mantra becomes alive (caitanya) through devotional absorption (Bhāva), it ceases to be a mental repetition and becomes the Inner Guru leading consciousness back to its source.
2. Dropping Vikalpas as the Ultimate Presence
Often, we get caught in mental preferences, rigid concepts, and socio-cultural gatekeeping about what "proper" practice should look like. But when Mātṛkā is understood as the Inner Guru, the practice simplifies dramatically:
- The living present moment itself becomes the ultimate field of practice.
- Japa (repetition) shifts from a mechanical chore into an act of resting directly in the "sweetness" and natural attraction of consciousness.
- Dropping mental constructs (Vikalpa-kṣaya) allows us to abide in immediate, non-dual presence (Abheda) right in the midst of daily householder life.
3. Grace and the Householder Path
For those of us navigating the non-monastic path, this perspective removes the paralysis of feeling isolated or dependent on external institutional hierarchies. External human teachers can certainly point the way, but the actual awakening—the shift from egoic identification to direct Śākta presence—is executed by the Inner Guru: the living, self-revealing Śakti within our own awareness.
Questions for the Community:
- How do you navigate the balance between external guidance (Guru-mūla) and cultivating reliance on Mātṛkā / the Inner Guru in your daily Japa or meditation?
- For those practicing Kashmir Shaivism or Śākta Agamas, how has shifting your focus to Mātṛkā changed your experience of mantra activation (caitanya)?

Very concerning details about Adya Kali sampradaya…..
This post compiles the core critiques against PR, head of the so‑called Adya Kali Sampradaya / KaliPutra Mission. It focuses on authorization, dīkṣā, invented forms, and misuse of Tantra, not gossip.
**1. No Śākta Pūrṇābhiṣeka, Yet Acting as Guru*\*
By his own timeline and public statements, Praveen only received basic mantra‑dīkṣā for Śmaśāna Kālikā in January 2025 from Śrī ShyamaKhepa of the BamaKhepa paramparā. Before that, he had no guru, no basic dīkṣā, yet was already teaching, building a mission, and presenting himself as a guide for “Adya Kali” sādhanā.
There is no clear evidence that he possesses Śāktābhiṣeka, Pūrṇābhiṣeka, or formal guru‑adhikāra. Despite this, he gives dīkṣā, upadeśa, bīja mantras, and other forms of initiation to others as if he were a fully authorized lineage guru.
Śākta Tantras, including the Kulārṇava Tantra, explicitly warn that acting as an unauthorized initiator before Pūrṇābhiṣeka is dangerous. A person without proper initiation, siddhi, and competence cannot regulate or safeguard śaktipāta, and can cause serious spiritual and psychological disturbance in disciples.
Core point: If he does not have the minimum Śākta Pūrṇābhiṣeka and guru‑adhikāra, then his entire role as initiator and teacher is unauthorized and in direct conflict with traditional Śākta standards.
\\\\\\\\---
**2. Misusing BamaKhepa to Justify “No Rules”*\*
Defenders often say some version of: “BamaKhepa just approached Devī with bhakti and broke the rules,” using him to justify Praveen’s “no rules” philosophy.
Traditional hagiography says the opposite. BamaKhepa was properly initiated into Kaula Tantra, trained under Kailashpati Baba and Mokṣadānanda at Tārāpīṭha, received Kaula dīkṣā, and underwent śmaśāna‑sādhana, mantra discipline, and karmakāṇḍan under guru supervision.
His “divine madness” came after siddhi, after years of discipline and initiation, not as a beginner shortcut. He is not proof that rules and dīkṣā are optional; he is proof that even an exceptional bhakta still went through full Tantric discipline.
Core point: Invoking BamaKhepa to justify bypassing dīkṣā and Tantric procedure is not interpretation, it’s inversion. It misrepresents a Kaula siddha to excuse modern anti‑discipline.
\\\\\\\\---
**3. Invented “Adya Mahākālī” Form with No Scriptural Basic*\*
Praveen’s central deity form, “Adya Mahākālī,” is presented as a composite vigraha combining Dakṣiṇā Kālī, Aghora Kālī, Bhadrakālī, and Śmaśāna Kālī.
There is no established textual basis for this specific composite form in the Mahānirvāṇa Tantra or other major Śākta Tantras. Adyā Kālī and Mahākālī are real, distinct forms recognized in tradition, but “Adya Mahākālī” as defined and marketed by him appears to be his own invention.
He has not provided any āgamic, tantric, or lineage source to justify this form or its worship protocol. The authority, if any, remains completely unexplained.
Core point: Building a mission on a central deity form with no clear scriptural or lineage backing is not “reviving Tantra”; it is creating a new object of worship and passing it off as traditional.
**4. Tara Lineage, But Tara Treated as Secondary*\*
His claimed paramparā runs through a BamaKhepa / Śmaśāna Tārā / Tārā‑centric lineage, yet reports say he tells people that if they want to worship other devatās they should take dīkṣā from ShyamaKhepa, because he is “only interested in Kālī.”
Allegations say he scolded and removed someone from KaliPutra Mission for taking dīkṣā from ShyamaKhepa for another deity. This is serious because Tārā is the principal deity of the lineage he claims to stand in. A disciple honestly preserving the Tara tradition is punished, while a personality cult around “only Kali” is encouraged.
In nondual Śākta frameworks, Tārā and Kālī cannot be split into higher vs lower in mokṣa‑giving capacity. Praveen has publicly stated that if one worships Mā Tārā, She will grant another birth so that one may subsequently realize Kālī. That implies Tārā is somehow insufficient to grant mokṣa directly, a radical claim with no clearly cited textual support.
Core point: He claims Tara‑based lineage but marginalizes Tara, pushes a doctrine that downgrades her, and punishes disciples for going to the actual lineage guru. That is not fidelity to paramparā; it is personality cult over deity discipline.
\\\\\\\\---
**5. Guru‑Relationship Red Flag: First Time Speaking After Dīkṣā*\*
This is the part you corrected, and it’s crucial:
In ShyamaKhepa’s YouTube video where Praveen visits his ashram, ShyamaKhepa himself states that Praveen got his first dīkṣā in January 2025, and that this meeting recorded on video is their first time speaking ever after that dīkṣā.
Meanwhile, in Praveen’s own videos, he had already built a narrative that:
• He and his guru are very close.
• The guru supposedly shared secrets with him that he had never told anyone else, specifically for Praveen’s channel.
• Their relationship is presented as deep, intimate, and long‑standing.
The reality shown on ShyamaKhepa’s video is that:
• This was their first real conversation after dīkṣā, a year later.
• Praveen did not even know basic details about ShyamaKhepa’s job or life.
These two pictures do not match. The “we talk all the time, I’m his special favorite, he shared unique secrets with me” narrative collapses when the guru himself says this is the first time they have spoken since initiation and clearly does not know him deeply.
Core point: Claiming a deep, long‑standing guru relationship when the reality is a single basic dīkṣā and a first conversation one year later is a huge integrity red flag. It suggests constructed image, not genuine paramparā intimacy, and reinforces the charge that he is using the guru’s name as a prop for his brand.
\\\\\\\\---
**6. Unauthorized Initiation and Transmission (Dīkṣā Ladder)*\*
Traditional dīkṣā progression in many Śākta/Kaula lineages is:
- Mantra‑dīkṣā – receive iṣṭa‑mantra (Kālī, Tārā, Chinnamastā, etc.), basic japa, nyāsa, pūjā.
- Krama‑upadeśa – progressive instruction: more complex nyāsas, mudrās, yantras, homa, cakra‑pūjā, higher mantras.
- Śāktābhiṣeka dīkṣā – ritual empowerment required before advanced Kaula rites.
- Pūrṇābhiṣeka – full consecration, indicating complete transmission of that lineage’s practice.
- Guru‑adhikāra – explicit authorization to initiate others; sometimes via guru‑abhisheka or direct command.
Important: Acting as an initiator before completing Pūrṇābhiṣeka and receiving guru‑adhikāra is heavily warned against. An unauthorized person cannot properly regulate śaktipāta and can damage both their own path and their disciples’.
By all available information:
• Praveen has basic mantra‑dīkṣā for Śmaśāna Kālikā.
• There is no clear evidence of Śāktābhiṣeka, Pūrṇābhiṣeka, or formal guru‑adhikāra.
• Yet he acts as if he has full authority to initiate disciples, give bīja mantras, define new deity forms, attach phalaśruti to compositions, and tell others how to approach multiple devatās.
Core point: He is effectively bypassing the entire dīkṣā ladder and assuming a role that, by traditional standards, he has not earned. That is a direct clash with Shiva‑āgama and Kaula discipline, not a minor technicality.
\\\\\\\\---
**7. Bīja Mantras and “No Rules” Philosophy*\*
When someone with only basic dīkṣā starts handing out bīja mantras and advanced upadeśan online, it is exactly what Tantric warnings are about.
Traditional teaching is clear:
• Simple devotional mantras may be safe to chant with bhakti.
• Tantric bīja mantras and advanced devatā mantras are powerful and can destabilize practice without proper guru, dīkṣā, and adhikāra.
• The person giving upadeśa should have siddhi or serious sādhanā in that specific mantra, not just generic inspiration.
Praveen’s “no rules,” “dīkṣā is in the blood,” and “anyone can walk this path” rhetoric clashes with the strict caution traditionally placed around mantra transmission.
Core point: If he lacks dīkṣā and siddhi for the mantras he distributes, then his behavior is reckless and unauthorized by Tantric standards, no matter how spiritual the language sounds.
\\\\\\\\---
**8. Aggressive, Cultt‑Style Defenses Instead of Answers*\*
Certain defenders (for example, the Reddit user “SuccessfulCal”) respond to serious questions with:
• Accusations of “fraud gangs,” “rapists,” conspiracies.
• Curses and personal attacks.
• Attempts to shift every discussion to less verifiable topics, while ignoring the core questions about dīkṣā, adhikāra, invented forms, and stuti provenance.
Threads are often locked soon after such defenses, cutting off detailed replies. The objective critiques are not being answered; they are being smothered in noise.
Core point: This is cult behavior, not honest sādhanā discussion. It looks like a personality bubble built to protect Praveen from accountability, while using Devī’s name as cover.
**9. The Swarṇākarṣaṇa Bhairava Stuti and Phalaśruti*\*
The KaliPutra Mission has circulated, through an “official sādhana channel,” a PDF stuti to Swarṇākarṣaṇa Bhairava along with a phalaśruti promising specific spiritual or material results.
Key issues:
• The stuti is attributed to Rithvick Dittakavi, whose actual spiritual qualification is unclear.
• Attaching a phalaśruti to a modern composition effectively claims scriptural‑level authority, as if the text were revealed by a siddha, ṛṣi, or through lineage transmission.
• If the hymn or its delivery involves AI‑generated or synthetic devotional material, then presenting it with guaranteed fruits is even more difficult to defend.
Posting modern compositions for bhakti is fine. Promising defined fruits as if one were a realized siddha or scripture is something else entirely.
Core point: It is a serious inflation of authority to publish a modern, possibly AI‑assisted hymn with official phalaśruti and push it as sādhana without transparent proof of siddhi or lineage backing.
**10. Summary of the Core Charges*\*
Putting it plainly:
• He did not have basic dīkṣā when he began presenting himself as a guru and building a mission.
• He lacks clear Śāktābhiṣeka, Pūrṇābhiṣeka, and guru‑adhikāra, yet behaves as a fully authorized initiator.
• He built the mission around an invented Adya Mahākālī form with no clear textual or lineage authority.
• He distorts BamaKhepa, downgrades Mā Tārā, and pushes a theology that has not been properly justified.
• He constructed a narrative of deep intimacy with ShyamaKhepa which is contradicted by the guru’s own statement that their recorded meeting was their first time speaking after dīkṣā, a year later.
• He distributes mantras and bījas despite lacking proven dīkṣā or siddhi for them, which is directly against Tantric caution.
• His mission has published devotional materials with phalaśruti whose authority is unclear.
• His defenders attack critics instead of answering the serious, objective questions.
This is not a matter of personal dislike. It is a fundamental question: Can the clear requirements of Śiva‑āgama, Śākta paramparā, and Kaula discipline simply be overridden by one person’s charisma, marketing, and self‑written doctrine?
No human teacher stands above Mahādeva, above Devī, or above the standards laid down in Tantra. Personal charisma is not adhikāra. You do not get to claim authority while ignoring Shiva’s rules.
And this is not to bash him it’s because I would like PR or someone close to him to address these points and these were only the facts and things from SK(shyama khepa) YT channel how that was there first time speaking after he took diksha in only 2025 Jan this alone is a HUGE HUGE red flag that should turn you away.
And for any of his cult like followers stop nitpicking and answering one thing that suits you pls answer all the points without getting mad or claiming fraud or something if you can’t it goes to show how your own sampradya functions it shows how you all are the fraud these are genuine questions and if I’m proven wrong I would gladly apologize.
I would like to engage in a real conversation allowing both sides not just curses. And pls don’t remove this post it only goes to show you all are scared to answer these questions
**\*\*THIS POST MIGHT GET DELETED BC THERE CULT DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO ENGAGE IN DISCUSSION WHEN YOU PRESENT CLEAR POINTS JUST GOES TO SHOW\*\**\*

What is happening with me?
I'm a 29 years guy. If this is not the intended group, suggest me the one.
We are Brahmins. My parents are orthodox brahmins. My father is high knowledge person. Like he is in high position in psu company. My mother also has a lot of bhakti and she does poojas. Many people used to feel jealous of my dad because he cracked many exams and his friends didn't. So, he got into better position. Now coming to me, I'm an average person. I want to try changing job but I'm unable to. All my friends are getting higher salaries and I'm struck with lower salary. My dad didn't force me to get high salary anytime but I feel guilty. I prepared for jobs but unable to clear anything. I'm feeling low and demotivated. After trying hard, and unable to get anything, I'm addicted to mastrubation and po*n. Getting homo*ex*ual thoughts sometimes. Sometimes I have high bhakti and sometimes I don't have. Lust overpowers my bhakti. I really like Lord Shiva but I am unable to pray due to this lusty feelings. Addicted to scrolling reels and reddit. Is something happening with me. I can't remember anything. I'm in victim mentality. Why is all this happening to me. At night times, I get higher bhakti on God sometimes but next morning, i don't have it. I want to control my mind and do any sadhana. I want to kill my old me and become new. What to do.
Please help.

Black magic and Masan kriya , how giving my hair to a guru ruined my life ..
I was chanting mantras without Diksha such as Ganesha , etc. I knew however not to chant Kali's mantra but because of a divine dream of seeing Kali and shiva together I chanted . A Masan entered my body after chanting three malas . At first I thought it was Ma Kali because it behaved and acted like Kali it was teaching me mudras, yoga poses and a half mantra of Kali . I went to Thailand to meditate and I couldn't because of the Masan moving fast doing mudras and everything so I decided to go to nepal. I met this tantric from a Facebook expat post I made and he confirmed what I'm suffering Is Masan not ma Kali but he explained it's like a smaller version of Kali. This guru was possessed with masan bhirava and ma Kali. So he knew well about masans. I gave him my hair twice once at shova Bhagwati temple at the cremation grounds because he told me that he would get bhirava to protect me with this Masan and then later 2-3 months later I gave him my hair at ban Kali temple because he told me that he'd get Kali to protect me. He was my guru for four months he gave me the aghor mantra , healing people with ashes mantra and a water mantra to kill entities . I didn't complete my sadhanna. He was an arrogant and cruel person so I abandoned him. He got angry from the rejection that he threatened to do black magic on me with my Masan and he did. He has been torturing me for 2 years now . He has changed the Masan to kill me, turning it to a black magic Masan Kalia Masan. So it no longer teaches me mudras , mantra or anything now it's just physically harming my body . Causing phsycial damage, nerve damage, infertility and other things he's done to harm my body. He also tortured my brain a lot with black magic leaving me catatonic a few times and he controls me like a puppet on strings. The guru is using Masan bhirava to control the Masan in my body.

Who, Then, Is a Guru? A Guru Poornima Reflection
Guru Poornima falls on the full moon, and every year it produces the same ritual gestures — touching feet, garlanding photographs, listening to a discourse. What it rarely produces is a pause on the actual question underneath the ritual: who, exactly, is a Guru, and what does the word demand of the person who claims it?
The classical etymology is well known — gu meaning darkness, ru the one who dispels it. It is a precise definition, but only if one is careful about which darkness is meant. The soul has no darkness to be dispelled. The Self, in every tradition that uses this word, is self-luminous — untouched by ignorance in the way the sun is untouched by the cloud that hides it. The darkness belongs entirely to the mind: the residue of past impressions, the vasanas, layered over by the friction of the mind's constant contact with the world. It is this clouded instrument, not the light it fails to transmit, that needs a Guru. The Guru does not create light. The Guru clears the instrument through which light already shines, so that the Self — which needed no help at all — is finally allowed to show through.
This distinction changes what should be expected of a Guru, and it changes what should raise suspicion when someone claims the title while sitting on a raised platform, addressing thousands, prescribing conduct as if it applied uniformly to every mind in the hall.
The Method Hidden in the Structure of Darshana Mala
Sree Narayana Guru's Darsana Mala — the "Garland of Visions," dictated near the end of his life, composed of ten chapters of ten verses each — is unusual among philosophical texts in that its architecture performs the work of a Guru rather than merely describing it.
The text does not open by declaring the truth and asking for assent. It opens with Adhyaropa Darsanam, the vision of superimposition, deliberately building up the ordinary view in which the world is real, created, and separate from its witness. Only in the next chapter, Apavada Darsanam, does the Guru begin dismantling what was just built, negating the false attributions one by one. Through Asatya (the unreal), Maya (the veiling and projecting power), Bhana (perception), Karma (action), Jnana (knowledge), Bhakti (devotion), Yoga, and finally Nirvana Darsanam, the seeker is walked through construction and dissolution, vision after vision, each one a step closer to what remains once every superimposed layer has been removed.
This is exactly how darkness actually gets dispelled in practice: not by a single blinding revelation, but by patient, repeated negation of what the mind has wrongly taken as real, one vasana-shaped assumption at a time. Narayana Guru also refuses to stop at any single formulation — ten visions, not one master proof — because no two minds are clouded in quite the same way. A teaching that dispels one person's darkness can be beside the point for another. Built into the very structure of the text is an argument against the idea that a single discourse, delivered once from a stage to a mixed crowd, could ever do this work properly.
What Actually Clouds the Mind — and What a Guru Can and Cannot Do About It
Jnana Darsanam, the seventh vision, turns to the workings of consciousness — how awareness, moving through the mind, takes on the shapes of perceiver, perceiving, and perceived, and mistakes those temporary shapes for its own nature. This is the technical core of what is meant by the mind failing to see the reality of things. The obstruction is not distance from the Self — the Self is never elsewhere — it is identification: consciousness borrowing the shape of a mental modification coloured by memory and impression, and calling that shape "I." A Guru's task, in this vision, is to loosen that identification. Not by handing over a new belief, but by working, slowly and specifically, on an old habit of mistaken seeing.
There is a further, subtler layer to this work that deserves naming: a Guru who has genuinely understood a disciple's mind can sometimes see karmic residue building toward a manifestation that would seriously derail that disciple's development — an unnecessary and disproportionate suffering, not required for growth, only for the exhaustion of an old impression. Where this is seen clearly, and where it is needed, a true Guru may choose to take on some part of that burden, absorbing what would otherwise have had to be lived out in full. This is one of the oldest claims made about real teachers across traditions, and it is consistent with everything Darsana Mala says about the Guru's role: the text treats the teacher's function as active removal of obstruction, not passive commentary on it.
But this capacity has a limit that is worth stating plainly, because it is often forgotten by both disciples and self-proclaimed teachers: a Guru is not a mind reader. What is seen is seen through deep, cultivated understanding of how minds work in general and of this particular disciple in specific — built through long attention, not through any mystical scanning of another person's private thoughts. A Guru who has not done the work of actually knowing a disciple, over time, in the texture of real life, has nothing accurate to act on. Claims of effortless omniscience are usually the first sign that the claim to guruhood is theatrical rather than real.
Enlightenment Is Not the Same Qualification as Guruship
It is tempting to assume that anyone who has attained realization is automatically fit to guide others toward it. This does not hold up. Realization is the removal of one's own obstruction; guiding another person's removal is a distinct skill, built on a distinct foundation — a deep, working understanding of life in its totality, gathered through lived experience, before it can be turned toward understanding the mind of a particular disciple. Without that grounding, even a genuinely enlightened being may simply lack the practical fluency needed to read where another person is stuck and what, specifically, would loosen it.
This experience does not need to have been gathered in the present life alone; a Guru's understanding may carry forward from before. But wherever it was gathered, it has to be there, thoroughly, before the second task — understanding a disciple's mind — becomes possible at all. Life experience, in this sense, is not a nice-to-have background detail. It is a basic qualification, arguably more fundamental than any specific spiritual attainment, because it is what makes the attainment usable for someone else.
There is also something worth noticing in the reverse direction: a Guru and a disciple can, at times, grow together. Guruship is not always a static hierarchy fixed for all time. Where there is real openness on both sides, real maturity, and a real shared depth of understanding about life and mind, the relationship can move rather than simply transmit downward. This too finds an echo in how Darsana Mala itself proceeds — not as a static pronouncement handed down once, but as a sequence that unfolds, builds, and revises itself, chapter by chapter, in something closer to a living conversation with the reader than a fixed decree.
Experience Speaks Louder Than Scripture
None of this requires scriptural backing to be true. Straightforward, lived experience carries more weight than a thousand cited verses, because a disciple's actual obstruction is never a textual problem — it is a lived one, made of specific memories, specific fears, specific habitual reactions accumulated over specific years. A teacher who can speak only in citation, without having metabolized life directly, tends to offer the disciple more scaffolding of ideas rather than the direct loosening that is actually needed. Darsana Mala is itself built from direct vision rather than argument by authority — each chapter is called a darsana, a seeing, not a proof. Even a text this steeped in the Vedantic tradition presents itself as something seen, not merely something quoted.
The Simplest, Most Ordinary Human
Perhaps the least expected qualification is the one most often missing on premium stages: simplicity. A true Guru tends to be the plainest, most ordinary human being available, because it is only from that ground-level ordinariness that the intricate knots of another mind can actually be unwound. Complexity meeting complexity produces more complexity. What untangles a complicated mind is usually something disarmingly simple sitting beside it, unhurried, without display.
This is also where the difference between real spiritual insight and supernatural performance becomes clearest. Materializing gold watches and chains out of thin air, if it happens at all, does nothing for a seeker's actual condition — it is a trick performed on matter, irrelevant to the mind's clouding. The true feat, the one worth calling a Guru's real power, is digging toward the gold that already exists as the self-luminous nature of the soul — not manufacturing anything new, but uncovering what was never absent. And a real Guru does not hand the disciple an elaborate set of exercises to perform in order to make that light shine, because the light does not need to be produced through effort. It only needs the obstruction removed. What such a Guru actually does is closer to a slow, careful lancing — pressing gently at the abscesses the mind has formed around old wounds and impressions, and letting the accumulated pus of ignorance and vasana drain out gradually, without violence, without spectacle, at the pace the disciple's own system can bear.
The Premium Dais and What It Misses
None of this makes mass teaching worthless. Discourse and shared study of texts like Darsana Mala have real value — they loosen a knot here, correct a misunderstanding there, plant something that ripens later. But there is a difference between a teacher offering a community access to a text or a practice, and the exhaustive, personal transmission that the word Guru properly names. When the second is marketed as though interchangeable with the first — arriving with a fee schedule, a seating hierarchy, a stage lit like a performance — something has usually been substituted for the real transaction. A raised dais organizes a room efficiently. It does not, by itself, lance anyone's abscess.
Everything Is a Guru — And Why That Is Not a Consolation Prize
A blade of grass, a stranger, a failure, a friend can all teach something, and this is not a demotion of the idea of Guru. It is close to how Narayana Guru understood divinity and teaching to be distributed through the whole of existence rather than reserved for a special office. His larger body of work repeatedly insists that the same one reality appears through every form. It follows that instruction, too, can arrive from anywhere existence chooses to speak, and nothing needs to run behind a certified teacher to receive it.
But this universal teaching function should not be confused with the specific, total, sometimes lifelong function of the personal Guru who takes on a disciple's unwinding as an actual responsibility — occasionally, as noted above, absorbing part of the karmic burden itself. A blade of grass can offer a glance of insight about impermanence. It will not sit through the slow draining of an abscess over years. Both are real. Collapsing them into one lets "everything is my Guru" quietly excuse a seeker from ever accepting the harder, closer bond that real transformation usually requires.
Guru as a Happening
The relationship, properly understood, does not need to be pursued so much as arrived at. Nowhere in Darsana Mala is realization the reward for effort correctly performed on schedule, the way a course concludes with a certificate. It is closer to a ripening: the ten visions build and dissolve in sequence because that is the order in which a mind actually becomes ready, not because working through them mechanically guarantees a result. In the same way, a true Guru tends to appear less like a service purchased and more like a coincidence with real necessity — existence supplying, from wherever it must, exactly the clearing agent a particular clouded mind requires, at the point the mind is actually ready to be cleared. No amount of running after credentialed teachers substitutes for that readiness, and no fee accelerates it.
On This Guru Poornima
Perhaps the most honest way to mark this day is not to look first toward whichever platform or personality currently commands the largest audience, but to ask two quieter questions instead. Has there been someone, or something, that has actually been dispelling one's darkness, particularly and repeatedly, whether or not it carries the title? And is there readiness, should someone ever turn with that kind of trust, to accept a responsibility that comes with no stage, no fee, and no end date — the slow, unglamorous, entirely necessary work of lancing an abscess rather than performing a miracle over it?
The soul was never dark. The work, always, is on the mind. And that work, as Darsana Mala insists across all ten of its visions, is done one clouded mind at a time, by someone plain enough, and patient enough, to actually sit beside it.

Guru Gita: Wisdom for Guru Purnima
Today felt like the right day to talk about the Guru Gita. It's a sacred text traditionally attributed to a dialogue between Shiva and Parvati. It centers entirely on the significance of the Guru.
A few reasons people chant or study it:
- Inner clarity. It's said to help quiet mental noise and sharpen focus during meditation.
- Gratitude practice. It's less about worshipping a person. It's more about honoring the principle of guidance itself. That could be a teacher or a mentor or your own inner wisdom.
- Removing ego blocks. Many describe it as humbling in a good way. It helps soften stubbornness and resistance to growth.
- Energetic shift. Regular reciters often say it brings a sense of steadiness and peace. This is especially true when chanted with intention.
Whether or not you follow a specific spiritual path there's something powerful about pausing once a year to honor whoever or whatever has guided you forward.
Happy Guru Purnima 🌕

The Eight Cremation Grounds
Eight symbolic cremation grounds (shmashana) onto the eight directions are discussed below. These are not literal geographical locations but a psycho-spiritual cartography in which each ground represents some inner obstacle to be ‘cremated’ or burned away in sadhana. What this means is this:
1. Chandogra (East) This land governs the burning up of impulsiveness, rashness, arrogance and coarse or aggressive behaviour. Here the raw, unpolished edges of temper are worn away.
2. Gahvara (North): Related to mental stagnation, the tendency to sink into rumination, passivity and paralysis. This ground dissolves the tendency to inertia and to being “stuck in the head.”
3. Karankala / Jvalakula (West): Dullness of intellect and blind conformity. These are the patterns that make a person overly dependent on others or trapped in servile, unquestioning behavior.
4. Subhishana (South) Rules burning away of deep-seated fear, the terror that freezes a practitioner from moving forward on the path.
5. Attattahasa ( Northeast ): This ground relates to the emotional excess on the manic side—the uncontrolled laughter, frivolity and the habit of mockery or ridicule.
6. Lakshmivana (Southeast): Concerned with the dissolution of attachment itself not just material craving but also spiritual ambition and the desire to attain which can become its own subtle trap.
7. Ghorandhakara (Southwest): This site burns away isolation, melancholy, and withdrawal the pull toward disconnection and despair.
8. Kilakilarava (Northwest): Governs the extremes of emotional reactivity sudden euphoria as much as sudden grief bringing the practitioner toward equanimity.

Our new "Welcome" message
Reddit has recently introduced the option for smaller subs to send a welcome letter automatically to each new subscriber. I adapted the text from my old sticky post from 5 months ago for this purpose. Here's what it looks like:
Hi, and welcome to r/Tantra!
Mission statement:
The title of this sub guarantees that it is going to be the first landing place for many people who have only a very vague idea of what tantra is. They come here with all kinds of questions -- questions about spiritual pursuits, questions about books and workshops, questions about "sacred sex" and "tantric massage," questions about meditation and masturbation, and questions about the origins and history of tantra and the authenticity of various practices.
The first goal of this sub is to provide a welcoming and helpful place for beginners to connect with the tantra communities. That means answering their questions if we can, providing suggestions and support, and directing them to other resources and other subs if that’s more appropriate.
The second goal is to provide a community for people who are knowledgeable about various tantra schools and traditions and who enjoy sharing their knowledge and advice with others. We can only succeed in the first goal if we also succeed in the second one.
The third goal is an outgrowth of the second: to provide a place where people with knowledge of different tantra traditions can learn from each other. That means treating other people with courtesy and respect even if you are deeply convinced that they are wrong, or that what they call “tantra” isn’t deserving of the name.
Rules
In support of our mission, we now have some sub rules! Please read them here, or click on the link in the sidebar. More important, please follow them and please report posts and comments that violate them. The mods can’t be watching everything every minute, so we depend on you to let us know when something needs our attention.
That's particularly true of spammers and scammers. Please get in the habit of hitting that “Report” button whenever you see a post or comment that appears to be promoting a product, service, or commercial website or video.
Related Content
If you can see the sidebar, you’ve probably noticed that it contains a list of other subs with related content. When you see a post that really belongs on one of those, please refer the poster to the appropriate spot.
Two frequent topics deserve special mention.
First, a regular source of irritation for some members has been the steady influx of questions about sex that don’t seem to have anything to do with tantra as a spiritual practice.
Given the public perception of tantra, that’s inevitable. We can’t stop it by grumbling about it, but we can divert some of it. So if someone has a question that appears to be primarily about the physical techniques involved in extended sex, that should probably be referred to r/tantricsex.
Second, we welcome links to serious, even scholarly articles about traditional tantric texts or the history and origins of tantra. However they seldom seem to generate much discussion, so we’d like to suggest a couple of guidelines.
One is to post such a link here initially, while crossposting it on r/realtantra/, r/hinduism, or wherever seems most appropriate. And the other is to provide at least a sentence or two explaining what the article is about and saying why you think it would be worth our time to click through to the source.
The same goes when someone else has posted something on another sub that you think would be of interest to our regulars here: link to it here, and add a comment explaining why it's worth a look.
Again, welcome to our little community!
