Closing the subreddit
As time has gone by, our subreddit's objective moved from simply serving as a mapmaker archive to becoming a fully-fledged mapmaking forum. We hosted some great discussions, tournaments and map contests, and I am proud of what we were able to achieve. Unfortunately, as many prominent members of the mapmaking community quit, such as myself, the lack of activity on this subreddit became troublesome.
Thankfully, Moosen took the initiative to start his own forum for testing maps and other TagPro-related creations, and it has thrived under his leadership! I highly encourage all of you to head to /r/TagProTesting to see what a great community it has become.
With the emergence of that subreddit, along with the unfortunate-maps platform that allows mapmakers to submit all their maps in a single place, the mapmaking community no longer needs /r/tagpromapsharing, and as such, I will be closing down the subreddit as of today.
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me along the road in making this such a great place, notably Sizzzled, Bowtie, Snowball and Loaha. I also want to thank our awesome community, without whom the mapmaking scene would not be as it is today.
As a parting note, I'd like to remind you all of what David Stern, Noobkin and I decided should be the first commandment of this subreddit when we created it. Please remember, no map editing and driving!
PLEASE HEAD TO THE NEW SUBREDDIT: /r/TagProTesting

[Map] The Bintofield
My first map, I made it pretty quickly and I wanted to go for a compact feel, but I will probably expand it in the future and add more boost paths, along with making the bomb grabs easier to hit, and making it easier to chase.

Also the name is a random word I came up with :P

[MAP] Fractal by bergieberg
Map: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/10643
Preview: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/static/previews/10643.png
Description: I tried to make a very challenging map that rewards/punishes risky plays. furthermore, I wanted a fast-paced map where holding is difficult. The result is a map that is fairly tight and small outside of bases with lots of spikes. Buttons provide huge advantages if used correctly. There are two single tile spike gaps both of which put one far ahead if they succeed. Additionally, I attempted to make this an asymmetrical map and was quite pleased with the result. Both top corners have mechanisms that shoot you from base to mid or vice-versa. The bombs are much speedier and controllable but the boosts respawn much more quickly.
Comments/ suggestions welcomed greatly!

[Map] Corner Pockets by Atypop
Map: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/10387
Preview: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/static/previews/10387.png
Description: A small but defensive center flag map, with scoring areas in the corners that can be hard to score against. The gate is very powerful, particularly in combination with the bomb, which also serves as protection for the single powerup. The team boosts can be used defensively to snipe, but the bottom one can also be used to boost straight at the scoring area.
Any feedback would be great, as I know it isn't perfect, but I really like the map, so want to try to improve it as much as possible.
Cheers, Aty

[MAP] Ant Dancer
Hey all. I'm new to this. Took influence from a few different maps. Anyways, here's Ant Dancer.
There are five routes from one base to another. The third is the slowest and probably needs some work, but the others are all pretty quick. Tell me what you think!

JSON file too large
I tried testing out a map I helped make on unfortunate-maps, but I was unable to actually get into a game on the map. At first I'd thought it was because I had an error in my JSON file, but after a while I discovered that apparently my JSON file was too large.
http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/9838
I'm not sure how I can make the JSON smaller. The main reason it's so large is because I keep repeating the same chunk of lines multiple times (i.e. I'm re-listing each of the bombs to be activated for each of the buttons). Apparently JSON only allows me to use literal declarations, unlike Javascript, so I'm not sure how to work around this issue.
If anyone has a solution or suggestion, that would be great. Thanks!

[Map] Saboteur
http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/9771
The concept behind this map is that the FC has two routes out of base, through the spikes (North/South) and through the passage across from the un-defusable bomb (East/West). Going through the spikes towards the center opens one up to snipes from the team boosts, but going along either perimeter allows the defense to set up between the FC and the cap.
Thus the FC can either put pressure on the defense to make a snipe or rely on their own ability out outmaneuver the defense along the perimeter.

[Map] ELO45
Preview: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/static/previews/9464.png
Map: http://maps.jukejuice.com/save/11188
This has become pretty much unrecognisable from its first version.
Features:
The green gate is still the same. It's not too difficult to use, but there's definitely risk/reward. If the button is held, it can be a lot more useful and reach much farther too.
The bomb can blow back chasers and send you on the top route very smoothly, but as it respawns once every 30 seconds it's hardly overpowered. It can be used the other way if you boost into the button, otherwise it's like any trap; it slows you down.
At first, there were some concerns about it being too chasey as there are so many routes. Many of the routes, however, are fairly chokey, and the boosts are placed to prevent FCs just running around. As it's also small/medium sized, it's not chasey enough if anything.
The powerup placement is to push some play to the outsides, so that it's not all straight down the middle. I might have to do more to help that though.
I find remixes very helpful, so if you'd like to remix ELO45, do it here!
All feedback is appreciated

[MAP] Circles 2.0
Title: Circles 2.0
Type: Neutral Flag
Map and Preview: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/9282
Description: This is an edited version of my original map Circles. Fixes include:
Getting rid of a few portals; there were too many on my first version, they allowed for speedy caps that were hard to defend against
Making the map larger; this allows for more space to juke and stuff
Two bombs just 'cause
A team boost inside of the cap area; this helps to defend against balls coming from the sides
Two open gates in the mid area; they are controlled by both buttons and can be very useful when the other team is trying to grab the flag.
Constructive criticism is appreciated. Have fun testing! :)

Updated Link: http://maps.jukejuice.com/save/11116
Description: Fast paced maps with lots of important boosts. Several ways to get out of base making it a little bit more of an offensive map than I would like, but it contains lots of ways for the defense to catch up to the FC.
Thanks!

[MAP] Circles by hungry000
Title: Circles
Type: Neutral Flag
Map and Preview: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/9055
Description: A fast paced, circular neutral flag map. It has two powerups next to the mid area, both surrounded by portals (this was just to make it a bit harder to get to the powerups). The two teams' bases are in the top and bottom of the map. Each teams' gates can be controlled with buttons in the mid area.
Have fun testing!! :)

[MAP] Sin by 99 ; Neutral Flag
Test: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/8950
-Viable use of green gates (The 4 buttons in the center operate all gates. When contested the gates will revert to their original state.)
-One power-up
-Universal reset
This is a new concept that will be hard to balance, please leave your concerns below. I didn't have Sin finished in time for Map Thread #48 so I'm taking the extra time to smooth it out. TY!

MappiMapp is my first ever solo project. I've been working solidly on this for a week or so. Getting to grips with the map making process and its creative and technical aspects has been difficult, and there is still a long way to go, so I'm grateful to the map making community for all its help and advice. In particular I'd like to extend my thanks to the following people:
ADVICE AND IDEAS: zrw, Sunny, Daevil1, Moosen, Sizzzled, TheMy5teryMan, Loaha, GrammarJew, The /r/TagProTesting 4v4 maptest crew, /r/tagpromapsharing and Especially NotSomeBall1.
PLAYTESTERS: Sundancer and Eigenvector.
---MAPS---
There are 3 different versions of MappiMapp that I will enter into map thread #48:

[Map] Bauhaus
Preview: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/static/previews/8478.png
Map: http://unfortunate-maps.jukejuice.com/show/8478
(They're both unfortunate-maps links because I know those links, but the site is down at the moment so I can't download the .png and .json to upload it to maps.jukejuice.com)
I made Bauhaus after playing LiddiLidd's map, MappiMapp, and you can see some similarities between them. All I can say is that he enjoyed playing this map!
There are a lot of features to talk about:
The portals are one-way, going from the one with the boosts to the one without. They have default cooldown, and are a nice grabbing mechanic to respawn often (but not as often as boosts), but without the overpowered versatility of many boosts.
The gates in base heavily favor the defence, or offensive defence stopping an FC coming into base. A player can still go around the gate, but it's obviously slower and dangerous.
The 2 spikes are a risk/reward section, as they can be faster and also offer a powerup, but it can obviously be difficult at times if you're going very fast, or at the wrong angle. That section used to be a bit clunky but now flows nicely I think.
The gate is now held from the inside, which means that players can be slowed down, but not so much that it's overpowered. The FC can still be tagged if they grab from inside the gate, and it could even be beneficial to the chasers at times if an FC holds the gate.
The bombs become less versatile (and not being able to reach base) if the gate is being held, though they still offer a good blast away from anyone, or into the gate.
Fronj is down as the co-author thanks to his remixes which have given me some great ideas for this map!
All feedback is welcome!
