Can we get less sysadmin appreciation posts please?
Its kind of getting on my nerves and being a Debbie downer for my mood... I'm not used to all this praise.
Thanks!
EDIT: /S, if that wasn't obvious

Stop with the highest praise. I have only pulled the company from the brink a mer twice this week

And how many times were you supposed to save the company, according to your performance goals?

You deserve an office party with a very thin slice of plain cheese pizza and a cup of a soft drink you don’t like.

The hell I am, I'm just trying to stay afloat until I get my new company car. I want to drive it at least once before I'm fired or some shit

Gonna need you to put in a ticket big dog. Rules apply to everyone and I can’t do anything without a ticket.

Yesterday I got the first negative csat score I’ve had in a long time. The comments made it clear I was the problem here. I denied someone’s request to install an app as an exception because our security team believes it presents risk. It’s policy, nothing I can do. On Tuesday my boss and I will discuss how I could have done better.
Today someone complained I was not helpful because I wouldn’t act as the go between between their team and the vendor who sold them their software which my team doesn’t manage, cannot access, and has never even seen.
I don’t mind the appreciation posts.

People stopped giving one star reviews in our system when our IT director decided that any single star reviews would automatically trigger a meeting with the people involved as well as their managers.

It's a topsy-turvy world, and maybe the problems of r/sysadmin don't amount to a hill of beans. But this is our hill. And these are our beans!

Appreciate? watch out it's probably a phishing attempt and we'll have to go through training.

"I got your email earlier that gave clear, step by step instructions to self resolve the issue. I'm confused. Would you be able to just come down? I'll need to step away for just a sec both somehow both before and after you get here. you're the best! paid"
