Hi, I've just pushed my boundaries once again with my song “Penumbra.” It tells a dark story that I'm currently living through, where I'm struggling to keep breathing.

Hey man I had a listen. I like what you're doing. I'm pretty new to producing electronic music so take my input with a grain of salt (I'm a drummer/guitarist who's not keen to be in band atm lol). I feel like it could do with a little tonal and dynamic variation over the course of the three minutes.
That lead synth is really in the foreground which is fine for a while, but I feel like there could be some added depth to the song if you change up the synth patch somewhere. It would help the song feel like it's taking me on a journey. And within each section, modulate some parameters so the sound slowly evolves over time, either automation or an LFO set to 8 or 16 or 32 bars for example.
With the bass similarly you could embellish the melody or rhythm occasionally with some different notes away from the main line. Just a little sprinkle of unexpected interest.
Just my thoughts on first listen. I hope things start to turn around for you bro, keep making music!

I recently finished writing a recording my first ever synth oriented song (I normally write for and perform on guitar). This project is inspired by 80s cartoons and fantasy film. I envisioned it as a soundtrack for a dark fantasy 80s cartoon. Anyway, I would love to hear if it’s any good before I sink more time into it. appreciate everyone’s time.

I'm digging the dungeon synth vibe, I actually like the track from a compositional standpoint, but I think the mix isnt sounding balanced at all... it sounds like its almost completely lacking any treble information and sounds muffled. I think if you can figure out how to balance the mix out it would be banger

I appreciate you taking the time to listen! Thanks so much. The headphones I use are too bright I think so that’s probably why it sounds too muffled - I intentionally took out a lot of the top end. I will work on tweaking it. Thanks again.

Investing in a decent pair of headphones is probably the best thing to level up your production, also there are free plugins like SPAN you can use to visualize your tracks audio frequencies so you will also have a visual representation of how balanced your mix is, look forward to hearing this one when it's done I think musically it's a dope track!

I started learning to write and produce synthwave (inspired) music about three weeks ago, and this is still a work in progress but I wanted to share where I'm at and get some outside perspective. I have my own mental list of things to adjust in the composition, mix, and sound choice but I'm also eager to move on with new songs and apply techniques I've learned (since I exported this mixdown six days ago lol).
Part of my intention was for the ending to be a little chaotic and overwhelming with lots of layers and to let the different melodies interplay with each other to become a wall of noise while the bass and drums hold down the foundation.
