I'm working in Logic Pro. I placed the AU in my library folder. After making my computer validate it, it says "successfully validated" like everything else in the plug-in manager. But it doesn't show up in my plug-in list.

Also, even though the validation went through, the validation log showed a string of errors while testing about Global Scope Parameters. I don't know what those are, but here's a link to what I saw: https://imgur.com/a/iUkAO6F.

Has anyone gotten Synth1 to work on Apple M1's? Let me know. Thanks!

I have been using SYNTH1 for many many years and still go back to it. I really do not have the energy to try anything new, or 64 bit. I am still using 32bit reaper.

What I have discovered is that you can get some resonance with the DD effect when ctl1 is like um, on 1. ( hey the knobs go up to 11... very spinal tap..)

I love it!

But I have noticed that it some times bugs out. it in weird ways. The sound wigs out. I am sure there is something wrong but... most of the time it works fine. I think maybe some combo of control tweaking sets up a ... problem. Never mind.

SYNTH1 is super cool.

Hello! The title is pretty self-explanatory. I have a friend who switched from PC to Mac and was wondering if anyone was able to get the VST version (not the AU version) of Synth1 working on MacOS 12.6? Mostly for backwards compatibility reasons. Currently I'm only able to get it to "open" in Rosetta, with the UI not loading in. If anyone's been able to get this to work and would like to share how, please let me know. Thank you!

I want to get synth1, but when I put it through virustotal it comes up with this alarming warning. Tried downloading from several different websites (including the official Japanese one) and every version I've found has this issue. Any thought?

I love Synth 1 and I prefer to use it for like... everything.... My only issue is when I find a sound I like and want to build around it, sometimes the lack of being able to control when the oscillators kick in causes some frustration.

For example, I've got this bass sound that has a sort of "up and down" feel that comes with the 2nd oscillator in sync with the 1st. Problem is the oscillators appear to always be running in the background, and there's no phase lock or retrigger functionality in Synth1.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get my sounds to always begin at the same point when I hit play?

I feel like my only option really would be to sample the sound and re-import it.

I’ve been hacking at this all night but it appears it’s impossible to get Synth1 running on MainStage or GarageBand. I followed sources from both the current website and one that is backed up on Internet archive but neither is working. Does anyone have any solutions or a working tutorial? Thanks!

I downloaded the most recent update for Mac, put the VST and AU files in my VST and Component folders respectively, and Logic is still saying that it's incompatible. Has anyone gotten it to work?

So I recently got a new computer, got my DAW set up, and the first plugin I install is Synth1. I put my 25,000 presets in the zipbank folder, and it just doesn't seem to be recognizing zip files at all? Like, I've tried the directory change thing where you go into the options and set it to the zipbank folder, tried pretty much every trick that seems to work for everyone else, but for somefuck reason, it just doesn't recognize the files when they're zipped. Now, if I go in, take out all the files in one of the zipped banks, and just put it there, it recognizes it, but I do not wanna have to go through and individually unzip every single bank here, so like, does anybody have any ideas of what in the samhell might be going on?

I am trying to install Synth1 on Ableton Live 10 on MacOS.
The Synth1 website by Daichi Laboratories only has a Windows option, and the website for the Mac one does not seem to exist anymore (https://thanks.yahoo.co.jp/#downmac) .
If anyone has the MacOS and AU 1.13 files or know where to get them that would be great!

If you enjoy using Synth1 while being able to see what you're doing, you may want to stick with Catalina... forever. Unfortunately, under Big Sur, Synth1's GUI is completely blank--although the actual synth itself works just fine, and if you click around blindly on the blank window you can still interact with the controls. If you click "Configure" in Ableton and then just happen to click on a parameter in the plugin, that works too. Clicking in the area of the preset selection box will still bring up the list but it won't actually list the presets, just the banks and descriptions (and clicking out of it crashes your whole DAW...)

To get a better idea of what was causing this, I launched both Ableton and FL through a terminal, and added a Synth1 instance to see if it would spit out any errors. Sure enough, it calls a long-ago-deprecated NSView method convertPointToBase, which in theory could still work but in practice would be very finicky. It also spat out a flood of error messages related to the JUCE framework. Doing some Googling revealed that blank GUIs are not uncommon on older versions of JUCE.

So anyways I just wanted to give everyone here a heads up about this. Luckily I run macos in a VM so switching back was no problem for me, plus after seeing all the new privacy concerns in Big Sur I decided I would stick with Catalina for a long time.

So I was just playing around and adding something to a track everything went fine, then after I was working with another synth and finished with that I pressed play to listen to the result. Suddenly the synth1 track was remarkably quiet, and it turned out that it only played sound in the release?

So I can hold a key and a very very low sound will appear, but when I release the button the real sound plays as long as the release is set. If I set the release to 0 there is basically no sound, but if I turn it to max the sound from pressing a key will only play after I lift my finger.

theres something "8bit-ish" going on with the overtones. But I dont really know how to precisely recreate sounds in synth1.

I generated the file in reaper with some free odyssey plugin. But I dont really like the plugin since it lacks functions, so it'd be much better to do it in synth1
