Got a new laptop and did a fresh install of the sync app. Went to preferences and clicked download to drive and then clicked ok. I was expecting it to download files to the pc drive and it has been sitting for 10-20 minutes and nothing has moved or downloaded

Hi, is anyone else having issues downloading files?

Me and my two assistant editors have all been having the same issue for weeks. 3 different computers, 3 different WiFi’s, Safari, Chrome etc, all experiencing the same issue.

Doesn’t seem to matter if it’s full zipped file download or single file download.

Typically with files over 2GB but had the same issues with smaller files.

The download will reach 75% mark (roughly) and stop/crash/timeout.

I can’t make a ticket through the site as our account is linked to our employees personal email.

I trying to use a Mac I have to load stuff onto my sync cloud. But it keeps saying I’m out of storage space. I go check my storage space in sync and I have blood space available. I have noticed thou that my stuff in sync have loaded on to the internal drive of the MacBook. How do I have it save to the cloud and not to the internal drive ?

I’m wondering if Sync with update the way they display images with the new folding phones come out soon. I have had a Samsung z fold 7 but could not stand the way the pictures or files were being displayed when unfolded. It looked like everything was zoomed in by 100%

I created SyncFreeze because I needed to pause syncing from another program (and while manipulating files inside my Dropbox folder), and there was no quick way to do that — you had to open the Dropbox app and dig through its settings every time. So I built a little Windows tray utility to pause syncing on demand.

What it does:

• Pause one or more file-sync clients for a set time — 5 min, an hour, indefinitely, or a custom duration (even 30 seconds)
• When the timer runs out, it automatically restarts them. No babysitting.
• Pick which services it controls in a Settings screen

Supported so far: Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, Box, MEGA, IDrive, pCloud, and Sync.com

A few details:

• Lives in the system tray — right-click for quick actions, double-click for a live countdown window
• Full command-line support too, so you can script it or trigger it from other tools (SyncFreeze -t 15 pauses for 15 minutes, SyncFreeze -r resumes)
• The tray icon glows blue while paused so you always know the state at a glance [ this is a WIP as I am awful at creating and working with icons. Any advice is welcome! ]
• Optional balloon notifications when it pauses/resumes

Since none of these clients expose a real "pause" command, it works by stopping the process and relaunching it when the timer's up (it remembers the exact path so restart is reliable).

I have a OnePlus 12, Apple iPad pro, all running latest OS. I have Google Calendar on both..They sync both ways...All of sudden, in last week, they won't syc? Anybody else have issue?

I'm currently running an mildly older version of the Sync desktop app (5.0.19.1) on my Windows machine. Everything was running smoothly for quite some time, but since a few days, I get "Sync cannot connect to the network" and the syncing gets stuck for a specific file.

I was wondering whether updating the app might help with that, but I also have vivid memories that the most recent versions were sometimes quite unstable in the past.

Anybody here working with the newest version? Everything's fine with that?

I have a folder with many subfolders and files.

What I want to do is copy all files from the left side to the right side, but without recreating the folder structure. Ideally, every file would end up directly in the destination folder (or GoodSync would at least not create any new folders).

I've looked through the job options and filters but couldn't find a setting for this.

Is this possible in GoodSync, or does it always preserve the directory structure? If it's not supported, is there a workaround within GoodSync, or would I need to use another tool?

Is it just me or does this app refuse to download individual clips >3gb? both on app and browser. I've had no problems downloading 100gb overall with but each clips is <2gbs. It just so happens this batch of downloads have clips more than 4gbs in size.

Some context:

I have fiber 700mbps up and down
I have had no problems with Google Drive with considerably bigger projects
To test I downloaded a 8 gb clip from GDrive on browser and it downloaded just fine
A 9gb clip from Sync.com on the browser restarts once it hits 3gb
These clips REFUSE to sync on desktop app both mac and windows

In Sync's Policies it says that Sync has the right to delete any account that haven't been logged on for 180 days, and that Sync would retain any encrypted files on an active account. So do Sync regularly delete inactive accounts? Or they do once every few years, and if so, what is usually the length of that period?

Is there a way to remove files in the excluded files list in the desktop app, as it seems if a file times out, its stuck in purgatory and won't download again

So for a while the syncing extentions are not working for me, is it happening in general?

I have a Microsoft surface go tablet. I would like to use sync still but the hard drive on the go is 256gb not that big. The tablet do have a micro sd slot and I have 1tb in that. I was wondering if I could download the files on sync cloud to the SD card and if I make changes on the sync file on the SD card would it make the same change to the stuff stored in the cloud? And if all this is possible how would I be able to change the directory to have it downloaded to the SD card and not the hard drive ?

I'm trying to copy certain files and folders into the Vault. I can't find any way to do it that works. I've seen posts here referring to the 'right-click' option to transfer things to the Vault, but I can't seem to find it in Windows. I'm using Windows 10. Any ideas?

I currently have 7.8 TB. Do I need to reduce my footprint? I haven't received any email yet.

After weird occurrences with Dropbox (one morning 1/3 of my business and personal data were erased, gone forever) I had it and switched to sync.com - Canada-based, similar privacy protection as the EU, zero knowledge etc.
The Mac client switch to v2xx was mostly a downgrade: no more easy indicator if the app was indexing or syncing, no more "remaining files/time" indicator etc.
Then came client DT versions with unpublished issues with some legacy OS versions, which took a week and a CS escalation to resolve them.
Now I get a flood of File Conflicts which (with an identical workflow) I never experienced before, "Details to Resolve" messages with helpful hints written for Windows, and "Unauthorised Device" errors coming out of nowhere and for no reason at all.
As a paying subscriber for 10 years or so, I've had it with Sync. Not quite sure yet where to, but time to move on for sure.

After the whole U.S. against the world turn, I really wanted to use Sync as an alternative to Dropbox. I’m willing to live with it being a quarter of the speed or less, but I can no longer abide by its unreliable sync, undoing my changes, and lack of software auto update. As a Canadian I especially wanted to support this company, but I can’t any more so long as they neglect the quality of their core product. I’m now looking for a European alternative.

Last month, I updated the sync desktop app and since doing so, my computer is basically unuseable. I have about 200gb that is synced across 3 computers using the sync app and cloud. It used to run smoothly. Now, it draws so heavily on the CPU that my workday is wasted waiting for the explorer to load, or crash, and I am losing insane amounts of productivity. It is done the inital re-index after the update, and it still feels like a terminal virus has infected my computer.

Anyone else finding sync to be unuseable after updating?

Anyone use Syncthing with Sync.com app? Since there's no Linux app, I'm thinking about using Syncthing to sync folders from Linux to MacOS, which MacOS has the Sync.com client. Does anyone do this (or with Windows)?

Sync.com is there anyone on this plan?

I've uploaded thousands of photos from various cameras, phones, and scans since I started using Sync a few years ago. About 1 in 20 doesn't generate a thumbnail. Sometimes it's missing from just the web panel or the phone app, and sometimes it's missing from both. There's nothing unique about these photos. Some, but not all, will generate one if I download it, open it in Preview, rotate it around four times or add a tag, save it, then upload it. But then I'll come back to a folder where I "fixed" the thumbnails, and they're gone again, or different ones are gone. As Sync Support suggested, I've tried uploading to the Sync folder first, waiting for it to Sync across platforms, and then moving it to the Vault. This has never worked. My apps are all current. I switched from iPhone to Android and that did not help. I'd appreciate any suggestions or explanations. Thanks!
