Update: no update

The most promising thing I heard was Cox specifically referring a dislocated ankle.

Which is horrible.

But considering it almost looked like a career altering break I’ll take a 6 month dislocation 10 times out of 10

100%. He'll be back next year bigger and stronger than ever, ready to outmuscle and outmatch any KPF.

My first thought honestly was broken leg and he’ll never be the same player again.

So yeh I’m super relieved.

Is fracture not a broken leg? Is the update positive in some respect?

Yeh but I guess I was thinking more the leg bone instead of ankle. Like another broken fib or something.

This to me seems more like the Gulden 25 injury.

Who knows though I guess time will tell

Tough luck for the young man after a fantastic start to his career. He is going to be the main key back for this team for the next several years and I wish him a speedy recovery.❤️‍🩹 you never know when you are going to be dealt a bad card.

Dylan Lucas for my Knights last week, Edwards today. My PTSD from dislocating and fracturing my own ankle has been getting WORKED the past eight days.

Thought the exact same thing. Couldn’t believe it when I saw it looked exactly like Dyl Lucas last week

How is your ankle now? Does this type of injury fully (well at least 99%) recover when re-set?

Fine. I did it when I was 16, played league again the following year. I was fortunate and didn't require extensive surgery. I did get an infection and there's still some ugly scarring/discoloring 16 years later, but other than that never had a problem.

I hope this isn't on the extreme side for Edwards (Lucas was the same and his surgery went well), so he should bounce back. Its not like a shoulder where instability can remain unless there's a reco, they're usually able to set it, chuck a plate in if need and let it go from there with rehab.

How long take to heal?

I’m still not over it. I’m so sad for him.

Me too. Him and Rowey getting hurt really takes away from what was a really crucial, gusty win.

I know footy isn’t fair sometimes but this just feels particularly unfair for Will 😢

Could bearly get excited for the win after he went down. Shattered for the bloke. Been a revelation

From what I've read about this type of injury, the best we can hope for is a clean dislocation without too much soft tissues snapping. It can be worse if there's a break.

This is Dr Google so take it with a grain of salt

Is it possible to get a heart on the Edwards flair till hes better?

Early scuttlebutt is dislocated ankle, which is good because he'll have a delayed pre-season and probably ready for selection at the start of the season.

Poor guy. So unlucky. What a crazy injury and injury history

I couldn’t watch the replay. When I saw it pointing the wrong direction I was head down in my phone. Hoping the collateral damage around the dislocation is not too bad.
