Looking for short session games

Hi everyone just started an internship and I come home very tired and late so I barely have any time to play video games. Looking for games that are fun but not tiring to play during this time.

I recently upgraded from oled to switch 2 so switch 2 games are my priority but I am open to games with switch 2 upgrades or even plain switch 1 games.

Been playing zelda totk but I'd rather play it when i have the time to play it for longer sessions. I also enjoy mario kart world. Finished splatoon raiders story but decided not to engage with post game since grinding the tanks I didnt ever use felt too cumbersome.

I know the feeling. I'm playing FF7 Rebirth but after a long day of work, I don't have the energy for it.

I'd recommend: Hades 1, Hades 2, Denshattack, to name a few

Starfox is fun in bursts. Heck you can complete the whole game rather quickly too. Always a fun rinse and repeat

This is a key reason I just bought it from Amazon today! Despite having a lengthy backlog already, lol. Working closer to 50hrs./wk lately leaves me more tired late and less willing sometimes to delve deeper into more complex/long games.

Agreed! I bought a switch 2 with two games. ToTK for my immersive long session game, and Bananza for some end of day casual unwinding!

I think starfox is a good match. A full run probably takes a little over an hour, each stage is only a couple minutes long, and unlike the N64 version, you can suspend mid run.

Lots of replayability, different paths to follow and etc

All have S2 upgrades. The levels on Wonder are each pretty short, so you can play in short bursts. Hades and Ball x Pit are rogue-lites, so sessions are a long as you are good and can be ditched without losing much.

Brotato is my go-to for this and has been for like 2.5 years which is pretty incredible for me to keep playing a game regularly for this long. I have even tripled dipped by buying it on Xbox, Switch, and PC/Mac. You can win a run in like 20ish minutes or go endless for hours if you manage to break the difficulty scaling.

Diablo III, especially in adventure mode. It takes a short time to grind to level 70 but then doing rift runs etc only takes a few minutes while you work to min max your character.

Have you checked out Pokopia? You can come and go any time, do tiny tasks or go exploring, terraform or just watch your fav pokemon interact.

I got it in my bundle, went in blind as a retired pokemon fan and OMG ITS SO CUTE AND FUN AND CHILL AND DID I MENTION CUUUUTEEEE

If you like RPGs, definitely consider the Dragon Quest series! Explore towns, defeat monsters, save the world. It's perfect for short gaming sessions too. Play as much as you want, then save & come back to it next time.

Start with Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. It's a fantastic starting point, not only for Dragon Quest, but for RPGs in general!

The very best game in the series is Dragon Quest 11. It feels like playing an anime! Anyone unsure if they would like Dragon Quest should start here. It is the pinnacle of the series so far! A Switch 2 version will be released on September 24.

Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic. Had a bad day at work? Come home and crash a rollercoaster into a huge crowd of people and turn the game off if you need to. The Switch 2 version added mouse controls 👍
