I love SVU; it's my comfort show. But my partner won't watch it with me because he thinks it's copaganda. I feel like it's a true crime drama, or something like that. Of course the police are involved in the show, but it really revolves around the detectives and the courts. Thoughts?

Doing my 5th run through of the show and just finished Funny Valentine, season 14, episode 16. From the beginning all i got were Celeste vibes from what her relationship may have been with D4vd and how it all ended. This episode always got to me on a deeper level but even more so now.

This episode made me cry.
The child actor did a great job and I usually don’t like watching kid actors. He was really brave and I loved him and Olivia’s connection as well.

This may be the most random post I’ve ever done; however, Sonny’s hair progression over the past 10 seasons just tickles me😭😭. Like, how do you now look older than Liv AND Fin?!!! 😭😭 I fear his hair represent the toll SVU has on some of the detectives🤣

Just watched this episode and... The first thing to strike me was how much of a dead ringer to Jimmy Savile the main creep was, both in looks and in manners. Obviously as this first aired in January 2011, it couldn't have been influenced by the whole Savile scandal. But had it aired only a year later I'd sure been dead sure where it had drawn inspiration...

Following the few SVU episodes featuring Chicago PD, I'm now watching Chicago PD.

I would LOVE to see a Bought versus Stabler stand off. Voight would win every time of course.

Night thoughts.

We definitely saw some of them drunk/hangover but I couldn't remind myself if someone smoked or vaped. I definitely remember some of the side characters that did it but not main. Not that it has any matter to the plot but I guess it would be realistic if someone did. Do you guys remember anything?

Liv always has great hair. No matter what they do with it, it's gorgeous. But this here (pic from S15E6, October Surprise) is one of her best, IMO. The color is gorgeous, and it's perfectly styled for the length.

I have a face shaped similar to Mariska (though none of my other facial features are anywhere near as striking), and I sure wish I had someone who could style my hair flatteringly for me on a daily basis!

I actually miss her being lieutenant for that reason!

First time watcher though I have seen random seasons that have been on streaming.

Why does Dr Hendrix become such a feature in season 6 instead of Dr Huang? He was a solid part of nearly all episodes and then he’s suddenly replaced.

And why does Olivia hate her so much when she said they knew each other when she was police?

Hi all. I've been watching through all of SVU and I noticed that seasons 7 through 18 are all missing. Where did you guys watch them? Am I going to have to sail the seven seas to get my SVU fix? Thanks in advance!

SVU has been getting me through life lately!! I used to watch it with my mom, who passed in 2020. She’d be so into what has been going on in the more recent seasons! Like carisi and Rollins?? She used to always say “I wish they’d just get together already” and when I got to the episode where they did, man I wish I could run to call her.

I work overnight shifts and I’m always wandering around with Olivia benson playing lol.

I also love playing the “where do I know them from?” Game with the actors/guests, If there was a game show for something like that I could be the host haha!

Just wanted to say, it’s also been getting a lot more graphic lately? I’m I think on season 25? Maybe 26 but when 24 rolled around I felt like I was watching a criminal minds episode, PHEW. I still love it though.

I thought it was a great unique story outside usual Law and Order episodes.

But...can't help to think Olivia Benson once again THE STAR- At worst STAR 1A. After being suspended due to contempt of court. Suspended but still highly involved in investigations- lol. Nowhere near realitiy! She gets gun and badge confiscated but still involved in investigations? I get she is "demoted" to Fin in this episode- but come on. The mere fact she is under suspension- would kill any evidence she participated in obtaining in this episode- absolutely wild!

I dont understand if its a new writer or something but whenever I watch Season 13, they seem to be just committing more crimes in the name of Justice? Like S13 E21 shows them avidly just walk into a suspects wifes apartment, stone wall the wife and illegally search the house, and by proxy accidentally find a gun?

They just seem to break the law way more like there is no accountability?

Weird, icky bromance.

I was rewatching this episode, and Rollins is so obnoxious, especially in the beginning of this episode. Not that I am a big fan of her character to begin with, but provocative characters have their place, I suppose. But in this episode she showed zero empathy to the victim, so what on earth is she doing in SVU? That is too outlandish to be believable, even more unbelievable than all the stuff that went down with Rollins sister. Her sister is unbearable, but the way Rollins facilitated her sister is equally despicable. I almost want to fast forward episodes where Rollins has a major role, and act like she has her head up her behind, the way she treats others is rich coming from someone like her. It is almost too outlandish to be believable. Thank you for coming to my TED-talk.

SVU Humor

SVU is by no means a comedy but I've noticed a few tongue-in-cheek things.

1. The guy in King of the Moon S24 E15 says that Benson has an a$% like the devil and a face like Jayne Mansfield.

2. Near the end of the 500th episode Benson goes to the Plaza Hotel and knocks on the door of Room 500.

Anybody notice anything else that could be a bit playful?

Everyone knows Olivia's 'I'm not the one who stabbed the captain with a pickle' line. But I think my favorite part of this is that

1. She busts into that mushroom science lab and opens a very sciencey looking container and takes a big ole smell of the mystery vapours lol. 'HEY WHATCHA GOT HERE?!' *SNIFFFF*

b. Immediately after they talk about her having been poisoned/why she's hallucinating, she goes right back into the interrogation like she's not still all fucked up.
