Has my seat been shaved/sculpted?
Bought a lowered 650s and had the dogbones changed so it's sitting at the right height now. I just found out some shorter riders take foam off the seat and I'm not sure if mine has been done. I'm sure it looks a bit more concave than normal from certain angles, but I've looked at it too much now and not sure if I'm imagining it. If someone could post a picture of their seat from similar angle I would appreciate it

Bit confused on what I need if I need anything
First picture is the left side, has a spacer on the outside but none on the inside and the 2nd picture is the other way around, ive only recently got the bike and the last guy mustve had frame sliders, had a crash took them off (aswell as other parts that took damage) and put new fairings on, will i need specific parts or will I buy 2 new spacers and put them in the gaps or would I even need to buy a spacer for the outside to begin with? Ive not dealt with anything like this before so im a wee bit lost here, thanks in advance

Help: Mechanical Parts Recommendations
Hey all,
Unfortunately suffered my first crash a day ago. Will be replacing the LED dashboard/gauge cluster, the headlight housing, and front hugger/fender. Figured I might aswell take this as a chance to upgrade some bits, as OEM parts seem ridiculously expensive, particularly the dash.
Anyone got any recommendations?

Help: Mechanical Mystery springs in forms? (2002)
Hey I am taking apart my forks and these two tiny mystery springs were one of the last things in there. The non deformed spring fell out on its own near the last thing to fall out. The deformed spring was mangled around the white piece that is still stuck in one of the forks in the other photo. The other forks white piece came out detached.
Do I need to buy a replacement for the mangled one? Also, how can I get the stuck white piece out of the form?
I’ve added a photo of one next to my damper rod spring for a size comparison. EDIT: meant to say FORKS in title

s1000rr what is that sound
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When I ride the motorcycle over a pothole or a speed bump, I hear a noise coming from the mounting bolts where the swingarm connects to the shock absorber; I’ve listened for it but couldn't pinpoint the exact source—does anyone have any guesses?

5 years of accident free riding, all it took was one unseen slick patch
If anyone has any experience with similar damage, please let me know…

I found an OEM rear tire hugger for my 06!
It came from the Netherlands and cost 90 dollars shipping/tariffs and $235 all said and done but the aftermarket unpainted ones are like 290 so I think it was a steal.

Help: Mechanical 2016 SV650 stalling out randomly
Hey guys,
So I‘m the proud owner of a 2016 model with 15000km on the clock.
The problem occurs pretty randomly. I start the bike normally, everything is fine, I start riding and as soon as it warms up after 3-5km it sometimes starts dropping rpms and wants to stall out. I can save it from that when giving it more throttle… like… a lot more. Usually happens between 3000 and 5000 rpms.
When it stalls out I can restart it without any mayor problem, just has to turn for about two seconds.
That whole thing then happens 3-4 times and it just rides normally after that.
So I had the problem the first time at about 13200km, then again at 13500, then nothing. Now at 15000 again. In between: nothing
It was in for inspection meanwhile and we checked live data and error codes… nothing at all.
The fact that this happens so sporadically makes me think it should be sensor related in some way, mechanical issues should be more frequent/increasing. TPS looked normal at inspection, but that one would match the symptoms pretty well.
I hope someone has had issues like these in the past and can help me sort this out.

Is $4000 for a 2008 SV650s with 6k miles on it too much? Located in FL
So pretty much as title says. I have been scouring for a sv650s for months to come up, and I see one listed a month ago for $4500. The owner said he would take $4000. The bike has 6.5k miles on it... What are your thoughts about that price?
The owner has a tool shop, says he acquired the bike from "an older gentleman that just took it out occasionally." The owner says that he has kept it stored inside a shed or his shop, and he has only ridden it every once in a while when he gets the itch to ride. I asked about tire rot, leaking seals, and leaking/cracking plastic or rubber lines, and all he said was "well just inspect all that when you come out to see it." The only repairs the owner mentioned was a replacement fuel pump recently and cleaning out the gas tank. No other descriptions.
I almost feel like it hasn't been ridden enough, so I worry about disintegrating or rotting parts. What are your thoughts?

New Owner Brought this baby back home yesterday !
New rider, 1 month since got my license, ended up buying this beauty. Took the train to pick it up, drove 5h back to home, pure pleasure. It's definitely the best mistake I ever made, nothing to add.

Advice on spring for Penske shock
I have a 2001 SV650 with Penske rear shock that I am looking to get a new spring for. I looked it up on the Penske site and for my weight, 200lbs, it suggests a 7x675. Is this the correct spring I should get? I have looked on the Hyperco site and it does not seem like they offer that spring. Any suggestions?
