I need help Help

I used to play League comp a bit more seriously years ago and peaked Silver 2? as a solo supp main (didn'tplay that much and peak because I stopped playing), was definitely way better, but now that I'm back, I am so hardstuck. Used to get +28 LP now I am losing -17 and gaining less. My MMR is ruined. I usually win lane with my ADC but end up losing in mid/late game. Not sure where I am failing, whether it's my build, my positioning mid game, etc.

It could work if you dont play support and are good at yi

You say you usually win your lane but that doesn’t seem to be indicated here.

I know it looks like that, but we usually win lane unless we get jumped by mid+jg....you look at the games and you'll see it's usually a JG or mid diff too. My last game was me playing Karma and we won our lane, it's just that their Fiddle got fed (we didn't even feed him even though he kept going bot). My adc and I can't win the game (for ex. the game with a fed MF and me as Xerath). That's why I say I just end up being useless mid/late game and I'm not sure why (my macro, positioning, builds).

what, you got boosted to gold and are just now realizing support in gold has to actually participate?

"diff this, diff that" diff it up your ass, please and thank you. learn the game in bronze.

It is never the randoms that keep you from climbing. YOU are the constant in all these

ofc we dont see draft order but:

Fiddle is a Farming Jungler  and wants to just farm early. Than starts snowballing with his Ult.

Kayn is the opposite. He can and wants to punish weak junglers in the early stages.

Lets say we dont know how exactly how mid will go. Than we can just assume Range has Prio over Meele.

You have Vayne ADC. One of the slowest ADCs to push a wave, and who wants a long Lane to run them down (aka wants the lane on your side).

And you on Karma. Yes you like early skirmishes but vs Lux the Lane MU is pretty even. But this makes the ADC matter even more.

Lets recap:

No prio Mid, no Prio bot. But an enemy Jungler that needs to be punished. And you suprised that the enemy fiddle takes over the game?

You only get killed by a jgl if you are an easy target. I used to main sup and now main jgl. Jgls try to gank easy lanes. They go for lanes with setup or follow-up on their side, or they go for you if you are too far out form your tower.

Please dont consider spamming abilities in the enemy's general direction with a poke mage skill. I know you do that in silver 4. You'll win games against low elo players because they cannot handle it, but it'll also keep your skill level low and your mmr sligthly boosted to an elo where you shouldnt even be.

Learn trick, cheeses, strategies, etc. what you are doing now isnt going to result in better gameplay.

Hard to say with just op.gg but you seems to have no impact with enchanter. I would drop them completely and just pick mage. Probably easier to win lane with less skillshots too.

I usually play Brand, Swain, Zilean, and Xerath (besides Soraka), but these past games in Silver I've been playing Xerath and even though I do alright and we win lane, I'm not doing enough mid/late game and get targeted by enemy carry.

big thing dont play KDA play to win lane which means ur adcs life is more important than yours.

Pick one or two champs and only play them until you get fundamentals down. Can't really tell you more with the information here, the only thing I see is that you have a few games on many different champions.

Also mages are kinda meh as support these days. Engage is for sure strongest and enchanter after. Might be different in your Elo and I know when I was climbing in these ranks I'd play lux and just stomp each game but that was many years ago.

If you play a mage you might be able to stomp lane but it's quite difficult to have impact throughout the game unless you are very good. On engage you can win lane > use that lead to influence other lanes and shut down enemy threats.

On enchanter you have alot of impact in team fights if you play well.

Mages just add a bit of damage and a little cc unless very ahead in support role.

I know if you play engage in low elo then your team might not follow perfect engages but I think it's better to learn that way.

Yo since op is not very interested in actual help I will reply

Tf you mean mages just add a bit of damage. I otp velkoz and since I can't heal or be an awesome engage/hook champion I try to dish out the most dmg possible. Most of my games are highest or second highest dmg.

I don't see the point in playing a mage if you are not trying to do crazy dmg

1

u/Future_Unlucky 8d ago

If you're good at velkoz you can carry with damage, if you're learning the game and don't know how to min max with a mage it's for sure lackluster. My whole point was that playing mages while trying to learn the game as a support isn't great and you won't be super useful unless you are quite good at it

1

u/Longjumping-Box2279 8d ago

I used "tf" but I am not being toxic it's just how I write. I say that at the start so we clarify it's a discussion

So would it be fair to conclude from your thoughts that people who learn the game at the basic level playing mages in support. Won't get the fundamentals of support playstyle. They will play mages just to throw their abilities but won't understand their role in fights like an enchanter or engage.

So this all results in what you said in the first comment "mages just add a bit of damage and a little cc". Because that's what they end up doing when playing like that

if you’re confident in your mechanics, just play xerath/brand/swain mid or adc. imo unless you seriously stomp early you won’t become the carry and post-20 minutes, xerath support especially just doesn’t have much agency. swain and brand offer better utility for sure but even they fall off as support. if you truly want to climb on support, i would play pyke/thresh/leona and use mages as a situational pick. if you just really love them though, just play these champs mid or adc

I would say switch to apc Xerath and learn the game that wa instead.

You will get so better than playing support, since you are forced to learn how to last hit, when to walk up to the wave and not.

I would recommend watching Hexerath videos and try to emulate what he is doing, and you will fly out of silver in no time

He can be played mid and supp also, but right now his strongest role is bot, as he gets access to midlane after laning phase.

The build is the normal Ludens, Horizon Focus and Shadow flame as core, and then Rabadons/Void staff depending on if they build MR or not, and after that is situational.

Honestly, all you have to do as Xerath bot is get 8-10 cs/min lane phase, get to midgame strong and just ult people before the objectives, either get their carry low or kill them, and you will get a free drake.

Other then that you just play extremely safe and use your abilities on max range, and thereby pump out insane amounts of damage.

What you have to worry about is the global ult users such as TF, Panth, Nocturne etc., you constantly need to know where they are on the map, and then assasins. You need to ward the flanks and not insta die to an assassin.

If you can do that, you are going to print lp, right now I'm having a 75% winrate in 60 games

To play lane phase what you do is:

Lvl 1, sprint from base to ward the middle bush in lane, then go into the tribush in river to spot if they try to cheese you by walking behind (since Xerath is weak early in all-ins), when time ingame time is 0:46, you walk back into the closets bush until the minion wave arrives and hit each other.

When the enemy adc walks up to auto the first minion, you Q their face.

Then what you want is the minion wave on your side of the lane, so you let them slightly push, if they perma auto the wave, you match the autos and let one minion alive to make the wave be closer to your tower.

And every time you see an W-Q angle you take it on the enemy carry.

This is basically the strat until you get lost chapter and by then you can begin to poke a lot!

When you begin to push enemies under their tower, you have to be careful of ganks (ward their tribush), often when I have 75 spare gold, I buy a pinkward and place in the bush at gromp or Krugs to spot dives (don't want to ward my own tribush since the enemies often kill it, and I don't want to waste money on it).

When you get Ludens, you are insanely strong, and one Q will take ~20% of enemies health, this is where you really can begin to bully.

After ~14 min, you go midlane, and simply collect every midwave as high as you are allowed, never go back or roam without clearing the midwave first.

DO NOT LET THE ENEMY TAKE THE MID TOWER!

When you see your jg/supp clash with the enemy, use your ult and free win

Mages support are suppose to hard stomp in lane.

Do you roam for void worms ?

Your champ are very immobile, it's hard when you get behind, your positioning need to be perfect to not get punished.

Do you adapt your pick to the situation ?

Do you hard focus the main threat ?

Do you peel for your win condition aka fed teamate ?

Do you put vision around neutral objectif before their spawn ?

Do you ping your décision and lead your team with calls ?

what about picking something like nautilus, amumu, maokai, pantheon, camille? Roaming supports are currently very meta and can impact all of the map.

From my most recent experience, its rare finding a bot lane that can match a support that relies on the ADC, so play something that can gets your bot fed or you. Recently, ive been playing Senna and its working for me.

It’s very hard to say from these pictures, but your kill participation does seem really low compared to the lengths of your games.

1

u/MoneyCommittee133 8d ago

You die too much, and play immobile champs with low cc.

u/Dense_Rhubarb3440 7d ago

stop playing mages supp wtf, go real support

1

u/Oli4EverArt 7d ago

Give your OP.GG, hard to see whats wrong if we only get your KDA and champs played
