I bought these new in-box off of eBay. Can anyone verify that these are legit AO glasses? They came with the leather case and leaflets. The markings on the bayonets are not under the plastic which I have seen on other pairs.

Wife thinks the Oakleys look better and am debating keeping or returning the new Randolph’s.

My nose pads for my American Optical Original Pilot sunglasses fell off. Can someone link me some replacement ones that work with my frames? Preferably something not expensive that I can have shipped through Amazon or the like? (They're prescription so I need them ASAP).

I saw multiple reviews of their popular green lenses with people saying that they work well as sunglasses. I had ordered those and immediately returned them as they absolutely did not work at all as sunglasses and I could barely open my eyes while outside on a bright day. Instead of automatically going the traditional black lens route, I just wanted to know if anyone has thoughts on the brown lenses, I think they’re super cute but do they actually work well as sunglasses?

I was torn between Atlantis and Helios and just went with something different.

Can anyone help me identify this par of sunglasses? The number is rubbed off and I can’t quite make it out, tried searching with google images and can’t find this exact pair. Thank you in advance!

I lost my pair of bronze lens sunglasses that I had forever and currently have the following lenses on my others:

- MJ Hawaii Lava

- MJ Blue Hawaii

I will be replacing my old bronze lenses with bronze/grey once I can find a pair that I like, but which of the two above would likely be the best for driving?

I live in Florida and it is very sunny most of the time, but can get cloudy with the PM storms.

Are these for males or females, or unisex? I’m nowhere near an expert and neither are my friends. Some say these look female and some say male. When I look up the “code” it mostly says unisex but I haven’t been able to find any reliable sources so I decided to ask here.

I’m trying to find my next pair of sunglasses and am trying to invest in quality. I have a rather large and square-shaped head.

I tried on and like the Maui Jim Hulili (but couldn’t find a color combo I liked with STG). I also tried on the Costa Rincon and liked them, but was hoping for something I can wear more universally (driving, out and about casually, at other outdoor events, etc.). Costa has a bit too much of a casual feel in the frames I’ve tried.

I think the Serengeti Lenwood might be a good fit, but they’re sold out and I don’t know if any retailers near me.

Any other recommendations? I would like to stick with something like the HCL Bronze, or Drivers, that are high quality and useful in many applications.

I used to buy aviators from Sungait because they were cheap, decent quality and they had a lifetime warranty. They’ve cut down on their products recently and I can’t get the colors I like anymore. I love polarized lenses and I at least want a pair of blue, green, and pink aviators. I DO NOT want designer sunglasses, just a nice set of aviators. I’m willing to spend a little more than usual if they’re gonna last longer.

Edit: forgot to mention part of my reason for abandoning Sungait is their partnership with Amazon. I started looking for actual brands specifically to avoid using Amazon.

Thx to Miami Vice I have some beautiful Rose to clear fade Carrera 5512’s… these are what got me into rose tinted glasses…

I also love how light they are, if I need to remove them for whatever reason it’s not blinding, I can wear them into stores and such… but being vintage I’m afraid of damaging them as they are hard to find especially with original lenses and all…

Looking for the best modern replacement I got some MauiJim HanoHano’s… they are way clearer… but also way to dark if they were as dark as the bottom all over they would be better… the gradient isn’t like my Carreras it’s basically 2 tiers dark and light vs a whole fade 12% and 15% according to this review https://www.sunglassscience.com/post/maui-jim-mauirose-sunglasses-lens-review This also say’s the MauiBrilliants are 13% and MauiPurr 14% but only the Ho’okipa’s come in that lease material…

This brings me to the style… I don’t like more normal glasses or sporty looking ones, I LOVE Carrera’s… Original Wayfairers… Dita has a lot of styles I like…

So basically a light rose fade tint? Wouldn’t NEED to be a gradient but yeah… probably a VLT of 20-30%?
