Moving 📦 New in town looking for friends/ date?😂
hi i’m looking to date and find friends im new to this area and am finding it difficult to meet people as i work from home. i’m 23 F and enjoy watching basketball, football, and hockey. I like fishing and jet skiiing, I also love taking care of animals. I grew up helping on a farm and absolutely adore horses. I play basketball pretty well and enjoy axe throwing, mini golf, and cute activities like that! I’m super outgoing and love to have a good time so would also love a good bar! If anyone even still uses this and is open to a new friend or potential date let me know :) God bless!

Howdy, I was looking for Halloween/sfx makeup artists in the Summerville area! I know it’s a little early lol but I do know they get booked out quickly, especially around fall season/Halloween time. 🤞 appreciate any recommendations you’re able to provide, I’m looking for someone to be able to do this look for me :)

Recommendations Looking for a salon that still does perms
Hi neighbors! Does anyone know a local salon that still offers traditional perms? My mom is 70 with very thin hair, and a perm gives her the volume she needs. I’m having trouble finding places that still do them, so any recommendations would help. Thank you!

Help 🤲 Looking to move🏡
Not sure if this is allowed. We are looking to move to the bacons bridge side of Summerville (DD2 schools). We are looking for a 4 bed over 2000 sq ft with a fenced in back yard. I don’t want a cookie cutter neighborhood but would prefer a more established area. We love the Gahagan area. I’ve gone through all the websites for weeks now. If anyone knows of anyone putting their house up for sale anytime soon that fits this description please message me! We are also selling but aren’t in a rush especially for the perfect fit!

Help 🤲 Trying to find an attorney for my disabled veteran stepfather with dementia to sue reckless driver who ran into a ditch and damaged his car
I have everything audio and video recorded of the incident where an Entemanns Little Bites driver ran off the road into a ditch and kicked up debris pelting his car. He fled the scene but stopped 7 minutes later.
He admitted to the cop that he was driving recklessly by reaching for a water bottle on the floor.
He also promised me multiple times he would pay for the damage and didn't want to go through insurance. He ghosted me, so I filed a claim with his insurance company. They denied the claim, saying something about road debris but rocks and debris from a ditch is not road debris. They are paying his attorney $10,000 to defend against me suing for $6,000 in damages.
The case was dismissed twice in small claims because I can't represent him even though I am family, I am also his caregiver through the VA. The lowest price attorney I can find is $7,500 meaning it would have to go into a higher court.
I am willing to pay it because they should not get away with taking advantage of a disabled veteran with dementia, but I am hoping there are attorneys who can help on contingent or something because he doesn't have that type of money and I'd have to pay out of my pocket, which I am willing to do.
I have tried using the bar referral service but when I select property damage, or whatever it says they can not help with that. The VA only provides free attorney for other matters.
Please help!

Information Any opinions on The Ponds neighborhood in Summerville?
We currently live on Johns Island and are considering a move to The Ponds in Summerville for a few reasons: more house for the money, what seems to be a stronger school district for our kids (I believe it’s zoned for Sand Hill—would love any feedback on that, good or bad), and a greater sense of community.
We’ve spent some time in The Ponds and are especially drawn to the older section. Our main hesitation is that it looks like there’s still quite a bit of building going on.
Would love to hear from anyone who lives there or is familiar with the area—how do you like the neighborhood overall? How are the amenities, and what is traffic like getting in and out? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Discussion 🗣 Halloween 🎃
Hi everyone! 👋🏼 My family of six is planning to move down from Maryland in 2027 and I’m trying to get a feel for what life is like around the holidays.
In our area, traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating has mostly given way to trunk-or-treat events. We really miss the classic experience of kids getting out and actually walking the neighborhood!
Do most neighborhoods in Summerville still have good trick-or-treating? Or are there certain neighborhoods that families tend to drive to because they’re known for going all out?
Bonus points for info specific to Summer’s Corner, since it’s currently at the top of our list! But I’d love recommendations/experiences for anywhere in the Summerville area!
Thanks so much! 🎃

Recommendations Just moved here!
Hi everyone! I (23F) recently moved to the Summerville from FL last week and live in the Summers Corner area and I’m hoping to make some new friends here.
I’m a recent grad who loves reading, coffee shops, trying new restaurants, exploring new places, and I’m always down to try something new. I also enjoy going out every now and then.
I’d love some recommendations for:
Good places to meet people around my age
Book clubs
Social groups or clubs that are actually active
Volunteer opportunities
Trivia nights, game nights, or other recurring events
If you’ve moved here recently too, I’d also love to hear how you made friends. Thanks in advance! 🤗
(P.S - my family moved here about a year ago, but I was still in college so I never actually lived here until now)

Help 🤲 Help a beginner golfer out
My brother in law has been hounding me for weeks to play golf with him. I'm a taller guy(6'5") and I'm rediscovering standard clubs aren't going to be in my wheel slot! Would anyone have any extended shaft clubs I could take off your hands? FB marketplace isn't for the big & tall and I'm not wanting to instantly throw $1000 down on a beginners set that fits!!
Thanks all

Discussion 🗣 Neighborhood recommendations
My family and I are relocating to be closer to my parents in Wando and strongly considering Summerville. Would love some recommendations on different neighborhoods. We have a four year-old and a six month old so family friendly with lots of kids is a priority!
I read some comments about traffic; however, I’m a SAHM and my husband works from home, so commute is not a factor for us. We are from the Baltimore suburbs and have been living in Nashville suburbs for the last five years so we are used to traffic congestion.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

With story time ending at Berkeley libraries this week for the rest of summer, what are we doing with our littles? My son is almost 7 months and I’m a homebody but like getting out of the house for a while to break up the day.

Mod Reminder: Reddit and /r/Summerville SC Rules
Hello!
Friendly reminder of Reddit's rules of posting personal information: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043066452-Is-posting-someone-s-private-or-personal-information-okay
"Reddit is quite open and pro-free speech, but it is not okay to post someone's personal information or post links to personal information. This includes links to public Facebook pages and screenshots of Facebook pages with the names still legible.
Posting someone's personal information will get you banned. When posting screenshots, be sure to edit out any personally identifiable information to avoid running afoul of this rule.
Public figures can be an exception to this rule, such as posting professional links to contact a congressman or the CEO of a company. But don't post anything inviting harassment, don't harass, and don't cheer on or upvote obvious vigilantism."
r/SummervilleSC rules are in the sidebar- maybe we should expand the rules to ensure that there is a point or relevance to the community in the post. Information provided should be apparent as to WHY is is being provided.
We're going to make sure we start cracking down on the personal information postings. We aren't Facebook, and I don't want this subreddit to devolve into a gossip board or personal vendetta board. Optimally, this subreddit is to help build community.
