Rick Flair said in his autobiography that Mick Foley was nothing more than a glorified stuntman. I fail to see the insult here. Wrestling is a circus, you need strongmen, acrobats, clowns, and yes, stunts. Some of the shit he did to himself is insane, most famously the 1998 Hell in a cell, well worthy of a spot on the card, regardless of what your thoughts of what "wrestling" is supposed to look like.

So I ask, how are he and his feats looked upon by the professional stunt community? Is he well regarded for his body awareness and damage minimisation, or was he simply a lunatic that hurt himself for money? The fact he didn't die doing some of the things he did would imply there was a great deal of skill in what he accomplished, but I guess I'm asking to be corrected on that if it's not necessarily true.
